Thank you, this was helpful! It took me a while to find a video that clearly explained all the steps to get a booklet PDF prepared for professional printing.

One of the best I've seen on this on booklet printing.

After 15+ years of doing of 96-page magazine mechanicals (4-up), I have trouble with ID's preview (2-up). My brain wants to see the chart in thumbnails of imposing pages. I created a PDF version of a 100+ page book with QXP, moving the pages and rotating them so it would print the book for binding correctly, it made more sense to my mind than the software did.

Hey Greg thanks for this, is there a way to save this as a printable pdf. OTHER than rearranging the pages manually in ID? Or am I now asking for trouble lol.

      Hi there,
The whole idea with booklet printing is that you always design your pages in the normal order, and the booklet printing option will rearrange them for printing to booklets. Print regular to keep them in order, use booklet print yo have ID Rearrange them for booklets.

Can you make this work for printing on an 8.5x11 for a half letter size?

Hi Greg, Thanks for the video it really helped. For some reason when I go to print only the even numbers print. In the preview the odd numbered pages are highlighted in Red. Have you any suggestions as I'm really stuck.

Hi Greg, thanks for your informative video. Which version of InDesign are you using? I have the CS4 academic version, but yours has more features.

In this course of videos I’m using an older version of the education(school) version. It might be CS6. I’m using CC now which updates automatically all the time. So these videos are due for a remake over the summer. stay tuned. glad they are helping. all the best.

Hi! Thank you for the video! I just can't seem to get it right. When I print my booklet, the backside printing flips to the opposite side and come out upside-down?

      Same…
EDIT: Go to Print Settings… -> Setup… -> Preferences -> Binding Location: Flip on short edge -> Print

The content is super good, thanks. But there is a bug, is that we need to print double page, with the setting of short- edge binding, so we dont have to stick the page manually when we go to the binding process,
