Hi! That helmet (as some have said) is either a Sevans (The Stuart Evans Kit Company) or a copy of one. I had a recast Cyberleader back in 2003, and last week I just bought an EXTREMELY bad recast of the one you have. Mine is still recognisable as a Sevans, but it's in terrible shape. I'll be renovating it as best I can on my channel. Hopefully it'll turn out as nice as yours!
Seeing this really makes me want to go and collect them all now. It’s just a shame we haven’t got a company making all sorts of Doctor Who monster head/masks like Hasbro do with Star Wars. That shop in Brighton looks pretty awesome!! Thanks for showing us the Cyber head, I enjoyed that video 🙂
I think it was Revenge where one of the Actors playing a Cyberman starting suffering from claustrophobia after being bolted into the helmet, the poor bloke started screaming till he was released. They were also filming it in a network of caves which may of added to the claustrophobia. 😕
The original UK Revenge of the Cybermen VHS you held up is still my Doctor Who VHS ‘unicorn’. I’m resigned to the fact that I’ll never find it for a reasonable price. I’m quite keen on that helmet too as I’m somewhat obsessed with the Fourth Doctor’s era. I have a few small props from this period in the show, mainly segments of screen used costume.
Hey there Jason! :) Yeah, sadly, the price of that one has crept up. You may enjoy this older video of mine, then, if you haven't already seen it: th-cam.com/video/U0wnHN7A9tI/w-d-xo.html Happy New Year!
Loved the head, the image of you down at a&e with a cyberman head stuck on had me in stitches. Excellent video Jason and a hopefully happy new year to you 🙂
Did I ever tell the story of what my old neighbour had in his garage? Where we used to live we had a lovely neighbour, always friendly, you kmow the kind of thing. Anyway, one day he had to move out into somewhere smaller so he was sorting out his garage and lo and behold (and completely unknown to us for several years) he had a full size, screen-use dalek in there! Naturally this attracted our kids immediately, which led to a tour of the house which had other Doctor Who stuff including an original K-9! Amazing.
That's a beautiful replica! I've never seen any actual props from the show up close, but I suspect that it's just as fine! Pity it's too small, but I don't imagine it would be all that comfortable, with the sharp and pointy bits on the sides.
I two replica Cyber-heads: one is from The Invasion (very similar to yours), the other is an Earthshock Cyber-leader. I have tried them both on and posted the results on Instagram.
That's always been one of my favourite Cybermen designs. Of course, Revenge being the first Cybermen story I watched (apart from a few moments from one the the 60s episodes, can't remember which) might have something to do with it. I must visit that shop next time I'm in Brighton, haven't there for many years. I's been to long.
That's so cool! I'm glad you didn't get your head stuck in it! Sounds like something that'd happen to me! Lol! It's honestly amazing the amount of wrong images in the Revenge of the Cybermen VHS release. Loved that joke!
Thats a beautiful Cyberman prop replica from one of my favourite Cybermen stories. I'm very fortunate to own an Invasion style Cyberman helmet and a Tomb style helmet. I also own full size Dalek in silver and black and a Ice Warrior helmet and a Sutek mask and just for good measure, I have a giant maggot replica from Green Death.
Hey there Kenneth! Very belatedly... wow, your own collection sounds awesome. Especially the Sutekh mask! Would love one of those. Hope 2022 is already treating you well!
@@jarnopp It's a fantastic story. Hadn't seen it for years. Apart from a couple of very bad special effects it holds up pretty well. Had never realised how much the story and design was influenced by the discovery of King Tut's tomb.
i thinks its just the same mould from the invasion episode with patrick troughton the revenge cyber man helmet is very similar the handle and the torch are different
i cant be sure- but, that could be a genuine prop. the 'revenge of the cybermen' heads were re vamped from 'the invasion' story. the light in the top of the head was changed to the four pipes and the corrugated piping was just put over the top of the existing 'handles' which made me wonder if your was an original. inside your helmet there's the dowels which poke through from the outside- which would be the same dowel size as handles on 'the invasion' helmet. I dont know if you can easily remove the corrugated pipe - or pull it back to see. You could own an original 'Troughton' era prop!
Great video Jason my favourite Cyberman story is Revenge Of The Cybermen I think the Cyber Leader in the 1975 Doctor Who episode was South African and if you listen carefully to him you can pick an accent up 😀👍
No bikkies in the jar - I’m shocked 🤣🤣 cool Cyberman head though. Good talking point. Sadly I don’t have any Doctor Who replicas although I do have a limited run replica of Freddy’s Glove from the Original “A Nightmare on Elm Street”.
