I love mine!
I also have the Luma 18 in rust, and I really like the bag. The color is a refreshing change from basic black and the bag is like Dr. Who's Tardis, small on the outside but cavernous on the inside. This one can easily match any of the 21 or 22L bags I've tried. I also need a bag that has room for other things besides my gear. I Lean towards minimal with my equipment, but a couple lenses start to add up. I put the following in my Luma, Fuji xpro3, 16-80 zoom, 55-200, my fuji 27mm and 35mm lenses. That and batteries cables etc. This is way more than I'd normally carry but I still had room on top for a t shirt, shorts, socks and phone. Even then I had room to spare.
There are some rooms for improvement, the bottle holder is too small. Honestly, I'd rather have another storage pocket in its place. More pockets would be nice. The shoulder straps are pretty good, but Shimoda's urban explore straps are next level in comfort. With the Luma, if you don't wear the chest strap the shoulder straps tend to slide out making it decidedly less comfy. The little accessory strap thing seems like a 5-minute afterthought. But as a whole this is the best of many backpacks I've tried.

great review, only thing that I think is missing is a rain fly, I've purchased 6L slings that come with a rain fly, never know when you might get caught in a downpour :)

My gripe is there is no place for a water bottle if you take a tripod. If you have the tripod on the back you have to move it when you put the pack down to unload it. I wish they would have ditched the side access for a water bottle holder. We all need water.
Hi there! Got a question.. I don't know if you own a 70-200 Lens but.. does it fits in the McKinnon Sling bag if u put it right in the center of the bag in vertical position?

I honestly dont understand why most camera bags are marketed as "everyday" camera bag when 90% of the compartment are dividers for camera equipments and the remaining 10% can barely fit daily essentials like headphones, powerbanks, notebooks and etc. Why dont they make a 50/50 or 60/40 and call it an everyday?
The way I learned to read it is "everyday camera bag" and not "everyday + camera bag". It's a camera backpack that's meant for light camera gear for everyday use but not a backpack for your everyday item carry. But yeah agree with your point. Height of items is usually a limiting factor for me when I throw dividers in. Hard to get stuff like a steam deck in these bags.
