I rerolled all my lifeskilling to my shai to keep my witch as a grinder/pvper. I had my struggles as well and i wont touch the scorpion rotation near the Desert Naga Temple but i don't regret the reroll at all. Shai feels nice once you get used to it and the costumes are so nice .. ehm i mean the weight bonus with feathery steps V is why we play Shai
As an exclusive shai, a fun tip for any others doing shai and go for her awakening. Slot her "sun moon and stars" ability into hotbar for quick use from florang for more attack and move speed, back + F for increases especially to black rage regen. Side swing to go back into florang. If you got leaves, hit it for more bonus, consume black rage for more crit, roll forward and enjoy the massive speed boost :3 Its been my go to combo before diving into a cluster or boss and only takes a couple seconds
Another reason is to centrilize all the lifeskill on a single character and not spread it everytime you create a new char, which is exactly what I've been doing so far and your vid helped me to finally accept the Shai :D
For faster blood gathering use Come Out, Come Out to force aggro because of the passive of monster's not liking it, then cancel it with Gather Around to insta kill wolves, deer, or whatever else you're grinding. Makes the roaming mobs manageable and easier to deal with. Just something you can use to help farm faster every 2min. Com Out, Come Out can be cancelled as early as one or two seconds into the animation (depending on how fast you reach max aggro) and is amazing for clumping guaranteeing you don't have to move ever after using Gather Around.
If you think SHai is deadbrainer for RIft Bosses try doing them on Witch. Literally just place red orb on the ground and murder bosses while they focus red orb like some kitty trying to catch a red dot.

Out of people who grind out sycraia, they all tend to say Shai is the easiest, chillest, most fun class to grind there with. All her skills pretty much lower the targets dp so you can go anywhere earlier than other classes (like you mentioned in the vid). There's a vid of a Korean player going to sycraia just with a 245 tet kutum pulling 4k trash lol.
I didn't reroll, but I started out maining Shy as my LS. I'm so grateful for this video cause I don't wanna juggle inventory. It's a pet peeve to have to retravel back and forth like a mad lad.
Seen a Kr Shai on stream with high AP and all l can say is wow ;) Think Valks are better for meat with the vacuum Musa/Mae for trees due to the dash All else Shai :)
Maybe they should fix her hop to be less clunky, she feels weird to move around with, when the hop stops it has a delay which makes musa and its counter part a lot more efficient in most cases for speed gathering
You can also use a tailoring coupon on the gathering costume in game for the same effect on other classes as well. The only difference is I can mix and match different costumes with Curious Gatherer for... fashion purposes? =P
I have serious dilemna, im life skiller moatly and don like pvp at all. I love this gathering class concept + she can play instruments. But im not sure about playing loli... it felt weird once i played tamer... I thought about making ranger (passive speed boost) or valk (vacuum) but i cant realy decide between those and shai. Especialy that 2 above have much more outfits amd they are not lolis :/ Just wondering how much this weight difference and life xp will impacy my overal life skill experience
Once you start breaking that 220 ap range with shai her grinding really opens up you also have to make sure you keep buffing your attack speed with forward roll and back and rmb mix that with the 10% talent you will be throwing out a lot of attacks really quickly and doing pretty damn good damage and moving pretty fast.
Hello. I am looking to make a new gathering class, don't care about LT - just want vacuum ability. I already have a striker and valk. I don't want to do a mystic as it's similar to striker. What is a good vacuum class with a low cool down? Thank you.
Shai has free donkey to call everywhere, however is not able to pull wagons to do trading!.. Therefore lvl 49 Lahn for example is best at barter, sailing and trading when giving her celestial horn and wagon (she can also glide with high LT) and overall is better than corsair because a barter/sailor and or afk fisher wants to be lvl49 and Corsair only benefits water buffs when going above 49, so she would be a better pick for sailing when doing the frigate/combat sea life.. Lahn can also afk fish and process, farm and train just as good as any other class.. When it comes to speed for all things gathering related, she can also be considered very good.. And just like cooking, having good life skill exp on things like pets ect and costumes Lahn is just the same as other classes in that regard and cooking is one of the top earning life skills but highly boring to be honest.. So where Shai actually could shine when you go above lvl49 (pvp enabled) is standing behind an alchemy table or riding to farm with donkey trying to avoid trolls that might kill you, same goes for gathering, I figured surf has been added that is a great touch in movement.. Anyway I wish there would be more reason to roll for Shai, that means she needs more dmg buffs or protection, better vacuum, jump on boat move and at least able to connect wagon to donkey, to outperform for example Lahn..
@aiRstylez How far through Main quests should you level a Shai (or any class really), if their purpose is to be pretty much only a Life Skill character? Or really should you bother further than Heidel?
It's good to do at least once per account, I personally have only done the first little bit for the inventory expansion slots. The rest was done on another combat character long ago!

soo my main is archer but it got boring and i really like to fight bosses and large groups of monsters/players and i dont know what to choose between Berserker/Warrior/Mystic/Striker help on this one guys (my english is kinda bad so no hate :#)
Looking back, at this point a year later, and I have two shai's now, one for farming and cooking, I have them in heidel, and the other I was going to devote to milking and various gathering and alchemy. With now a side of fishing because I need the donkey gear and to leave an alt out there so hopefully I wont miss any otter wars ffs. But the main problem is I still need to level my musa because it is the best for the meat gathers. Despite the advantages of the shai, it just won't ever be the better gatherer, sans rough stone. The super donkey just seems so far away, and yeah weight and all that bonus xp sure make it nice. Tough call

Buy more costumes. BDO is basically designed to entice you to spend money on pearls. There is no incentive for them to make it easy for you to spend less pearls.

I have a PEN hoe and a TET butcher, tbh the butcher would have made me more money. I spend most of my gathering time at Behr however, so I went with that instead.

I've heard from multiple sources that Shai gets some major debuffs on combat compared to other classes. Causing her to do almost no damage to players and substantially less damage to mobs compared to normal classes. Has that been noticeable in pvp?
Reroll a Shai just for life skilling? Na. They do get some bonuses BUT it evens out at the top end. Having the special donkey is nice for extra space and a decent speed auto-run mount. Now if you truly want to play shai as your main(like me) because you like the class, then they make great main characters.
Slots are insignificant, the quest ones will do you fine. 1k or more LT would help a lot for cooking, the more the better (I'd be happy with 5k or more if I could xD)

@@knightfallzz not maehwa, musa. Maehwa has no aoe skills or a vacuum for gathering, Musa does. You would want to split the gathering character from the main lifeskill character, aka have 2 characters.
I honestly wish they bloody relased Dwarf or a damn Goblin aas the male life skiller/healer version of Shai becuse I honestly don´t like Shai I want to make one but no I do not like it. Heck I don´t even like WoW gnomes or FFXIV Lalafel´s.

Shai's don't awaken as PA refuses to allow that, but I sure would love if they did. :(

Shift + F is fun :) Music Talent Rocks, at Pen you can cast a -25% DP debuff. Once they gave us our T8's this class is a no brainer.

There's not much to it really, Shai requires maybe 400 skill points total to invest in every skill. 1100 if you want all the Sol songs.

Shai’s automatically come with professional 1 in gathering so he uses those alts in order to grind for milk once his energy is full.
