Video summary:
Most of the Lifeskilling community in Black Desert Online is currently power-leveling their Gathering with the herbs rotation at Behr, a little village in the South of Calpheon. However, there are other good herb rotations in BDO, such as my "52 Herbs Rotation" at the Serene Spring in the Balenos Mountains. If you know how to gather from a distance, the spot is a true alternative to Behr.
I recommend everyone to power-level your Gathering with herbs at least until Master 1, where the energy efficiency is maximized. After that, you can make an educated decision what to gather next with the Gatherable Materials Overview provided in this video. Due to the synergy with cooking, I think meat is the best thing to gather for beginners who want to make silver and get some enhancement materials.
Increase your BDO Gathering mastery through leveling and investing into better gear. DMUK's Gathering Gear Progression Chart, also shown in this video, provides clear guidelines on how to progress in the most efficient manner.
If you are at least Skilled 5 Gathering, you can get an "invisible" 650 Mastery for free by purchasing a Magic Hoe from the marketplace. Norma Leight at the Northern Wheat Plantation can lend you the Leight's Hoe (200 mastery, +10% Gathering EXP) for 50 CP.
It is recommended that you go from TET Loggia Accessories directly to DUO Manos Accessories. Skip the Geranoa tier, it does not scale as well as Manos. Some people use PEN Geranoa Accessories over TET Manos Accessories later on, but I personally wouldn't recommend it.
You don't need PEN Manos Accessories to reach 2000 Mastery. A PEN Manos Tool, PEN Manos Gatherer's Clothes, Guru 28 Gathering and 6 TET Manos Accessories are enough if you use the Seafood Cron Meal buff.
There are other buffs, such as Gathering speed buffs, Life Experience modifiers and Energy Potions to refill your Energy.
Your Gathering speed should always be at 5/5, it is really easy to max out through Seafood Cron Meal, a Life Spirit Stone from the Central Marketplace and by joining a guild. Gathering speed is one of the benefits of being in a guild in Black Desert, even if you are a solo player.
There are many Life Experience buffs available in BDO. Some of them are permanent items, others are temporary. Some are always available, others only at events or through the Pearl Shop. If you want to use your Birthday Cake for +100% Life EXP, make sure to prepare another Lifeskill as a fallback option before you start.
Energy Potions are extremely important because they let you extend your Gathering sessions and save travel time (and silver). You can get them at NPC Alustin by exchanging 200 Energy from an alt or at the Central Marketplace. There are also Loyalty Potions and Pearl Potions that don't share the same cooldown as your Regular Energy Potion XL. If you want to spend real money on gathering in Black Desert Online, make sure to buy a Hedgehog first.
The Serene Spring is a little difficult to find, but it is well worth it. Enable "use mouse to move" in your settings to gather from a distance. Get used to the maximum reach.
Follow the rotation with as many active life EXP buffs as possible with the help of the numeric labels. For inventory management, you may have to delete seeds of the herbs and stack trade item beetles on your horse. At some point, you can do a storage run to Velia nearby to unload.
Reaching Guru 28 Gathering takes a really long time, even with buffs. Put something nice on your second screen while Gathering and motivate yourself by thinking about the 4 - 11 million extra silver per hour you are getting per bracket.

I am a new BDO player so I mostly spend my time watching the guides. I've seen many of them from "renown" youtubers but this one is the best. You speak slow and clear enough for me (as a non native speaker) to not stop and repeat many times unless I get the idea. It's honestly nice to see someone coming up with something original and not just the same reused stuff every other content creator has done. A problem I've had with the BDO community is peoples seemingly unwillingness to test new and interesting things and find alternatives to the "meta". Hell it's hard to find actually reliable info half the time. The Wiki is probably the worst Wiki I've ever seen for a game with this amount of players and there is still so much BS info going about in BDO despite it being several years old at this point.
That's why it's always so nice to see people like you who have the time and dedication to actually test out and find the answers for yourself and share it with us. This game isn't all about "meta this meta that". It's an MMO and even with as many problems as BDO has it has creative solutions to things if you just look for them and people tend to forget that or condemn people who try out new things. So thank you for this video and I hope to see a bunch more from you.

bdo is like a second job, and youtube the way i do it is like a third job. that's too many jobs for one person.
anyway, i don't feel like taking the quantity over quality approach at the moment (even though that might be financially sustainable)

@@Penemue I feel that, honestly as much as I love BDO content it does feel like the YT scene is generally undervalued by the player base and the only content that gets any real views are big ones like this or super flashy PvP videos even if my preferred is chill laid back PvE videos.
The amount of 6-10k subscriber BDO channels I watch despite the effort that gets put into their content being massive like yours is a little saddening. That's honestly probably why most of them stream as well since BDO seems to do better on the streaming end of things.
Honestly if you were to do chill like "gathering at x spot for x amount of hours" to test it out and upload it I'd honestly probably watch it because I love those kinds of videos but I understand and respect wanting to keep the quality over quantity approach intact.
Either way you're one of the more informative lifeskillers I've watched so whatever you post I'll be sure to check out and I hope you can find shortcuts and ways of making the content you want in a faster and maybe even better way that makes you happier with your content.
Edit: Oh yea something like Patreon or Subscribestar are always options even for smaller channels to get a little bit of a kickback from their content but you've probably thought of those before.
Absolutely fantastic as the plants respawn almost as fast as I can pick them. I have a bunch of pets with me and can barely keep up. Oh, and I found it as soon as I opened my map as own a few nodes near it.

Just got into garthering and found this video, no unuseful words waisted in this vid, and you can do a 53 herb rotation. If you go just slightly right at nr 12 and turn the camera a bit to the right you can garther 1 more herb. that video was verry helpfull. i reached master 3 just now and I hope it wont take 60 hrs to get to guru 1

Thanks heaven I just subscribed. I started playing bdo on console a month ago. It convinced me to play it on pc and join the mmo pc gamer community again( I started with EQ1 in 2000) showing my age lol. I’ve played almost all mmos on pc, mobile and a few on console. This one I love because of the life skulking and looking forward to pvp node wars. Reminds me of a game I played way back called dark age of Camelot. @@Penemue not really, atleast not for new players... Farming is very good money per contribution point, atleast for new players. Plant breeding give you roughly 100 stonetail fodder per day, if you are Master Cooking. that is 200 mil for not many minutes of work. it also helps getting that first Dream horse

429 to 605 in-game Days to get from M29 to G28 holy. I'm only at Master 7 Gathering and it already feels long to level, with most buffs it takes me over 3 hours for a single level. No ultimate secret eh just a lot of grinding haha. The tips in this video were very useful thanks so much!
Pretty much. If you like gathering enough, you’re gonna reach it. I couldn’t do the same for any other lifeskill (although some autolevel nicely)
If you plan to only powerlevel until a decent mastery I would advise jumping from TRI loggia accesories straight to PRI or DUO manos, just for the exp bonus manos provides

Ah, yes, serene spring. Before I've stoped playing for over a year It was one of my favorite gathering spots.

Hi Heaven, I enjoyed this guide. Well thought out and pretty thorough.
The one component a lot of guides don't talk about is how to get the silver to even progress in the life skill gear.
When we think about progressing from TET Loggia off to the Manos gear....that's practically billions of silver and if you are a casual player like myself, power leveling gathering doesn't yield the silver which eventually we will need to upgrade our gear.
Any tips there?
