All small bales handballed on and handballed off. 8 high with hay and 10 high with wheat or barley straw. All farm work but the beauty was you could drop the trailer and pull it into the farms with a tractor, happy days. (who am I kidding) LoL
Another cracking video Scott, love the straw runs in Canterbury, my old stomping ground when working for Stagecoach, you could turn right out of the farm onto Stone Street, if they haven’t put restrictions in, but it’s bloody tight in places, once caught a mirror on a branch when taking a double decker bus for MOT in Hythe it took the entrance door glass out, blimey I was so popular that day! 😂 Got back to depot after and my boss said your be getting a (naughty) letter for that, 5 years later still waiting!

That wide screen forward view gives me the heebie jeebies Scott. I fear for your life on some occasions. In Australia 🇦🇺 that lawn/grass at the edge of properties is called a nature strip, quite fitting really . Another fun episode thank you.
Easy days with these big square bales, building a load with the small square ones took skill , it was down to locking them together ....and loads of ropes , before the days of straps . Take care , C Taylor .
I hope you had the air-con on during the lovely weather, and transporting the hay, because can easily see that you would find none on the trailer, but 20 tonnes of the stuff plus a few branches for luck inside the cab with the window open when stopping for lights. lol but not through emergency stopping.

Have you ever tried turning right out of the farm and going straight the the M20? It’s a bit tight past stowting and down the hill, it may have a restriction on it now but it was the way we used to go. Great to see my old stomping ground when I was a driver, still go down that way from time to time as have family in the area. Take care. Colin

In the days when I carried Hay and Straw, I always sheeted my loads. A colleague who didn't , got a hefty fine, when a piece of straw went in a pedestrians eye, which required hospital treatment.
@@ScottAndrews FYI. NFU, recommends covering loads of hay or straw if there is any prospect it blowing into the road, and causing a hazard, IE, pedestrians, cyclists, and/or blocking drains. Not law, but as my colleague will tell you, it can result in a fine for you as the driver.
Need to go past a few cars that have their top down so the straw goes all over them haha :P oooo a mask lol many betty swallocks recently with the heatwave ;) I had a feeling the camera at the end was gonna get it. I hope it survived :)
How hard was is pulling out that petrol station? When I used to live there I'd always see Larry's jist siting there for ages, even when cars move over u need both lanes to get out haha, also there are a lot of nice drivers in North Kent, always give way and give u room when driving large vehicles
A tarp must be stretched over it because loose straw is blown away and other traffic, especially motorcyclists, can suffer from it. Here in the Netherlands you get a ticket for it.

If your going to use your licence as your main income earner you have to get your class 1. Otherwise your gonna struggle and not be able to do the best paying work. If had my class 1 for 16yrs and used it all that time. If I had tried to feed my kids and pay the mortgage with a Class 2 I would of come unstuck due to low pay. If you decide to drive trucks for a living know its a hard thankless job with long and unsociable hours with low pay.
Think you need to have a word with luke c, in his last vlog he came away from port Talbot he went into a services said he can't pronounce the this place he going to be stopping at he then said never been there before he attempted gwasanaethau like its a town village name I don't think he knew it just means services in welsh translation

Yeah come in that way a few times, Wouldn't like to go out loaded with straw that way due to the tipper drivers going all over the road
