The original model was photographed and studied by Tamiya... which was my trac when I was in Japan at Camp Fuji in June 1987! Our platoon got to go to the Tamiya modeling plant in Tokyo on their invite too! So... this is a model of A-44 Aco Company 4th Platoon 2nd AAV Bn (BLT 1/7) , Fuji Japan 1987. My Amtrac. Cool stuff. Oh BTW... Your modeling is wonderful BUT... AAV's are Aluminum bodied and do not rust. Good job anyway!
I was a 1833 while in the Marines. The detail of this model is excellent and accurate. Tamiya did a great job with their molds and I’m awestruck by the builders talent!
Only negative thing is why didn’t Tamiya come up with an interior like they did with their first Bradley release and earlier M-113 releases? We got the Hobbyboss one but that’s quite complicated. But building interiors can a separate kit in itself like the 1:35 Meng M3A3 one which I somehow modified to fit into Academy Bradley M2A2 but some turret parts won’t fit though … Anyway got this AAVP7A1 kit from Tamiya too and lovely reference video for me. You can also use BIg Foot AFV club tracks for it if you wish as they use same tracks as Bradleys. Not sure about the new T-161 tracks which are used on 1:35 Kinetic M3A3 Bradleys and in real life.
First off, excellent job. The model looks absolutely fantastic. Best hand painted chocolate chip camo I've seen! I really do like watching your work. Second, a couple of things. 1. Aluminum hull, steel bolts. Rust would be most appropriate around them. That plate covering the front of the track might be steel also. 2. Never saw an Amtrac track link that wasn't bare metal. Pads, when present, were black. 3. If going ship to shore, as the box art shows, no stowage would be on the outside, it would get soaked. If operating on land after, packs typically hung by pack strap or carbineer to the bar at the bottom of the sloped side. Source- USMC grunt, rode in a lot of 'tracs Again, excellent job on the model.
I suffer from polyneuropathy was diagnosed this year so Im not going to be able to build any models any more :___( . That said watching this one is a dream come true. I tried to do this model long ago when I was a teenager and never completed it, it was difficult for me. Thanks for building it. The other one I remember trying was the TAMIYA chieftain tank, IDK why both seemed diff for me :(
My wife has the Same illness, so I startet researching ON Line . Try talking Lecithin Supplement with B Vitamins. IT might Help your Body repair some of the nerve damage !! Best of Lück to you !!!!
"Es en los pequeños detalles dónde radica la diferencia entre la excelencia y la mediocridad......" Felicitaciones! Con esos detalles le das un realismo increíble!!
Amazing build! You put just as much work on the tracks as you did the entire kit! I remember building the first version of this kit when it came out in the 90’s....it was the biggest kit I had ever built, and I see the lower and upper hull hasn’t changed since the original.....nor has the crew commander, it’s even the same pose! Beautiful work and looking forward to the next vid!
@@ScaleHangar182 yes mate that’s the one. It’s awful. I painted the interior and tried to put the upper hull on the bottom part and the fit was terrible. I gave up and shelved the kit.
Fantastic work can be applied to a lot of builds, and they are, but it wouldn't do justice to this build, I can only say fantastic work, enjoyable video and background music, thanks for sharing.
That was a very excellent build sir, the painting/weathering was superb, I have used the smallest guitar string for aerials in the past. Thanks for sharing.
Haven't seen this vehicle build before. Very nice and a good change from other armor builds. The detail is crazy well done. Would like to see this same detail with a back section deployment.
March 6, 2023----Thanks for showing off the kit and your building of it...looks great. Will get one of 'em but will use it in a zombie/apocalypse diorama. Thing is, NO interior? Which is why I'm TRYING to learn CAD but it's kicking my ass. This is a trick that this old dog is trying to learn. Got some Stryker vehicles, with me hoping to do the same thing with them.
I am not worthy. I am not worthy. I had to stop building models about 1980, age 31, and I still have almost 50 old Monogram aircraft, like the B-29, B-25H, all the other big ones, even the BUF. I had all the old Testors and Polly S paints, tools, kinda a like a museum. Now I'm 72 and retired and just bought this tank--never have built a tank. I feel like I just watched a "MasterClass" in building models. Not only are the skills, techniques, and ingenuity off the charts, but your video style is absolutely perfect, as opposed to those long, drawn-out, discussions and editorial opinions. And why do the Brits pronounce "DE-cals" as "DEK'-uls", like "freckles?" Hideous word.
Niiiice. Love the desert scheme. I'm about to build my first armour model. I'm transitioning from planes. But it's going to be in desert camo. So this was great.
As a Marine veteran and as a Amtrack Mechanic (2141) I love this i have two models at home still in the box one of a AAVP7 and another of the AAVR7 . What would it cost me to send them both to you and do what you just did to them and send them back to me ? I have no where near the Skills to do them justice. . .
Hey, thinking of getting into model making myself. I greatly enjoy your content and was wondering if you take any requests for video. If so I think some of us would enjoy an OH-58D Kiowa Warrior kit if there are any around. Keep doing what you do best, you’re amazing and greatly talented. 😃😃
@@ScaleHangar182 , thanks, everyone! I had the Hobby Boss kit, with the EEAK reactive armour. I found another (I cannot recall the company), which included a comprehensive resin interior. This third kit was a reboxing of the Tamiya kit.
As a Marine Veteran I appreciate the build, brings back memories

I was thinking the same thing about the rust. I was like uhhhhhh that’s aluminum. YAT YAS!
@@gatermap those bolts and nuts are use as a stainless steel rusted proofed.
It's not rust! I don't want to sound cheeky, but corrosion do appear on aluminium, and a lot of photos of AAV online support this claim :)

YATYAS. Hobby boss does a good one too with a detailed interior. They even do an r7 with all the tool boxes!

Again, excellent job on the model.
Thank you for the info! Aluminum does not rust, but it does corrode :)
Nothing like having been there to improve realism.
Best job I ever had! YAT YAS!
YAT YAS
Your assembly of these kits is great, but it is when you start to paint and finish that your talent really shows!
If I were to color this kit, it would be better with a brush paint than an airbrush. Why did I use an airbrush? 5:31

Very very nice. Work of art. Keep it up. Thanks for sharing.

You’re an artist. Thank you.
Aluminum doesn't rust but the steel bolts do so that's some great work there.
Wonderful weathering techniques. You definitely have the talent and an eye for how the model should look like the actual subject. 👍👍
Impressive build and fantastic job on the weathering and assorted stowage items.
Looks absolutely amazing, great job as always!
Master piece! Greetings from Brasil.
I built a version of this kit with an interior not a tamiya kit but I was an awful build. Still not finished. This kit looks so much better
Hobby boss kit? i think its the only one

Well done, great paintwork.
Nice job on tracks & suspension. As a Amtracker appreciate your detail.
One of my future builds ! I enjoy your work.!
It’s really beautiful. So amazing.
Absolutely brilliant, you did a brilliant job of painting those figures and those bags really finished it, wow
This is a great healing video! Wonderful!

Very Good Sir.!!!!!!
Nice job! Excellent!
Great video. Just purchased my first Bartsharp 130 airbrush. Hoping to get some good results from it.
Update on the Bartsharp 130. Wow what an airbrush. So easy to adjust and use. Which model Bartsharp do you use?

not so bad. now lets get back to F16 :D
🤣🤣🤣
Wonderful.
Amazing
Good
Molto molto bello
nice work!!!
Love the build. But seriously I didn't think vehicle thing was real. It looks like a mix of Fallout and Warhammer.
It's real all right I drove one in Desert Storm
Just a comment for the algorithm.
hahah, thanks!
Really nice build !!! How Long does IT Take the oil brushers to dry ? I May WANT to try Them ON my next build.

What tool are you using at 9:14?
