MILWAUKEE, WI- On Thursday, June 20, 2024, at approximately 2:23 p.m., Milwaukee Police officers attempted to conduct a felony stop at N.17th Street and W. Vliet Street. The vehicle stopped was wanted in connection to an attempted armed robbery carjacking that occurred on the 500 block of N. Broadway. The vehicle was also wanted in connection to an armed robbery carjacking that occurred earlier in the day in the 500 block of N. Jefferson Street.
The pursuit ended when the driver of the vehicle moved into the construction lane on I-43 near W. Vienna Avenue and was blocked by the construction and a cement truck. Several construction workers were working in this space during the incident.
MPD officers approached the vehicle, gave several commands to stop the vehicle and commanded the suspects to get out of the vehicle. The suspect driver reversed the vehicle striking a marked squad car. The suspect driver drove forward and then reversed the vehicle. An officer was located behind the vehicle. At this time, another officer discharged his firearm into the vehicle subsequently striking two suspects. A total of six suspects were in the vehicle. The suspect vehicle was determined to be a stolen auto and a firearm was recovered from the vehicle. That firearm was a service weapon for a Waukesha County sheriff's deputy, stolen from his personal car outside his cousin's home on Brady Street Milwaukee in September.
The driver Calveyon Adonte Jeans, 17 Jeans was shot in the arm and jaw. He is charged with: Attempted armed robbery as a party to a crime, armed robbery as a party to a crime, operating a motor vehicle to flee or in an attempt to elude an officer, drive or operate a vehicle without owner's consent, first degree recklessly endangering safety, second degree recklessly endangering safety, possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent, operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent as a party to a crime, theft of movable property as a party to a crime. Calveyon faces a maximum of 114 years in prison if convicted of all charges.
His pregnant girlfriend Ashley Patterson, 18, was in the passenger seat and was shot in the head and back and has lifethreatening injuries. The baby did not survive. Patterson, is charged with: Attempted armed robbery as a party to a crime, armed robbery as a party to a crime, operating a vehicle without owner's consent as a knowing passenger. Ashley faces a maximum of 60 years and nine months in prison if convicted of all charges.
Tyrone Rogers, 17 is charged with: Attempted armed robbery as a party to a crime, armed robbery as a party to a crime, operating a vehicle without owner's consent as a knowing passenger. Tyrone faces a maximum of 60 years and nine months in prison if convicted of all charges.
The accused ringleader Semira A. Dean, 18 years old is charged with: Attempted armed robbery as a party to a crime, armed robbery as a party to a crime, operating a vehicle without owner's consent as a knowing passenger, operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent as a party to a crime, theft of movable property as a party to a crime. Semira faces a maximum of 72 years and nine months in prison if convicted of all charges.
According to the criminal complaint, Dean sold a car stolen earlier that day for "$200 and some marijuana to a marijuana dealer." Dean also told an investigator that "she generally steals vehicles for buyers expecting them" and admitted she had stolen four cars the day before.
A 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were in the car that aren't named and could face charges in juvenile court.

They do that to try to trigger the "no pursuit" rule that some jurisdictions have. If the driving is too reckless, the police will stop active pursuit. The police may continue at a great distance though which is what the suspects want because they intend to bail at some crowded if they can break visuals.

It’s a cultural victim mindset. It’s a disease that people spread to others. I worked with a white woman who's son didn't have a license and he was never pulled over or anything. He just kept living his white privileged life without responsibility for society or consequences from it. Free to drive whenever and wherever without fear of being pulled over because police don't bother white people for driving.
My son is a cop, he gets pulled over all the time because of racial profile, and were detained a few times because they thought he was impersonating the police.

I've thought the same thing in the past but realized at a high rate of speed it's better if they stay put and let the police cars go around.
I have some 'acquaintances' who live in Arkansas, and they tell me that it's not uncommon for people to use their vehicles to deliberately block the police in an effort to help the perp(s) get away. Let that sink in -- these people are either perps themselves, or they want their drugs _really_ badly.
Depending on the timing, it is better to stay predictable and not try to move at the last second.
I get your point but in many situations it's much better to act predictable to the police and to stay in your lane, probably reducing speed a bit to create some window before you and be around their cars for less time. It's especially true if there are multiple police cars chasing, and you could see just one and decided to open a way to it while unintentionally blocking it for next one(s).

There have been many in the last few years that have let criminals go, even for violent acts. The police tell the DA's what they can charge, but then the DA decides which charges will be applied. Judges are often limited to how much time they can give for each guilty charge. Depends on each state's laws.
@@bobl703 im only speaking about Milwaukee & thats where this video takes place & i also know how the system operates here, & the DA not the ones letting these kids off, all my charges got dismissed except 4 counts of bail jumping (for talking on the phones) i was going to try to fight those charges cause all my other charges got dismissed so i figured why am i still being charged with bail jumping & the DA came up to me outside the court room & told me if i don't plea guilty to the 4 bail jumping he's gonna put 87 more bail jumping charges on, & i later found out he wasn't pose to say that to me outside the court room, i was innocent but he was still trying to get something on my record & anyway to get me to serve more jail time after i spent 5 months in jail just for it to be dismissed but he wanted more time out me for no reason
