Hard to replicate hitting the ball off the fungo consistently in the same spot as well. Only Ron Washington has that skill locked down in the league. I truly believe his drills is why the Braves infield are always one of the best in MLB.
Before my husband knew anything about baseball he saw these videos used almost the same exact drills but made it his own. He would make my son balance from a chair from his knees throwing tennis balls so he can use his balance and eyes to see the ball. Long story short he made his first all star appearance my husband was assistant coach he was able to manage all his mistakes thank you Ron
Yea I pitched from little league to highschool and I started to play travel baseball at age 13 and I was taught by coaches that played pro or college. I also was being scouted by the Florida Marlins which now is the Miami Marlins at one point. But not only did I pitch but played the infield as well but mostly firstbase and I never made it to the pro or college level but I was taught by coaches that played pro or college. Now I've been out of the game for about 20 years now and my playing days are over but baseball is still a passion of mine and I love the game and it's still in my blood. So I'm thinking about doing baseball lessons and I'm kind of new on how to get started. But would you use these drills if I'm teaching young baseball players who are starting out? When I was playing travel baseball our coach would use the front part of a ping pong paddle and make us field ground balls that way. When I got to highschool our coach would make us field ground balls with our bare hands and make us shuffle both feet. Do you recommend those drills as well? Because if I do baseball lessons then I want to know what drills that I can use
The only thing I noticed wrong here is Ron has Ozzy Ozzy keep his knees in the same position directly facing Ron (chest facing forward) for all 3 drills whereas you rotate your body and knees depending if it's forhand or backhand. Also Ozzy's knees are wider
