I lost my virginity just this year at age 27 and it's been really devastating. I think I will have sex whenever I am ready and with a person with whom I can connect emotionally. I am not a sexual being, but I hate that some people are being shamed for being one. I made a pact with God, my parents, and myself to wait until marriage to have sex. I didn't date until I was nineteen. The first boy dumped me when I wasn't trying to have sex. I was sad but let it go. We only dated for a month so we never became a couple. My first boyfriend came along, and sadly, I lost my virginity to him. Worse, I got pregnant. I still struggle for forgive myself. I let God down. Anyway, I tried pushing my boyfriend away, I wanted punishment for what I did. Nope. So he enlisted in the air force, and we got married a month after my daughter was born. I am very fortunate and blessed. Yes Tamera, forgiveness to yourself is possibly the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Two years ago I was supposed to go to boot camp for the Marines, right before I was to ship out I found out I was pregnant it took me a little over a year and a half to forgive myself because I wanted to be on my own doing my own thing. I'll never forget my recruiter at the time telling me the Marines isn't worth having an abortion, that a baby is way more special. And two years later I'm laying down right here with my baby, I'm glad I listen to Gods plan no matter how hard it was. I never beat myself up so bad before in my life. And when i lost my virginity that messed me up a lot cause i thought my bond with God was gone. Until i realize that my relationship with God didnt depend on my virginity. I respect Tamera so much for this. I'm a 21 year old virgin and a lot of people don't understand and/or support my decision to wait. I'm not religious so I didn't make a promise to God, but I did promise myself I'd wait until the right guy came along and I was truly ready.

I remember watching this video as a teen (I was a new christian and made this same pact with God).
Five years later, I was close to breaking this pact. The physical intimacy that I shared with my boyfriend and how close we got to sex (whilst at the time felt nice) broke my heart the moment it was done.
In the aftermath I mourn my sin and, though God forgives, occassion I'm flooded with guilt overmy actions. However, I remembered this video, and watched it.
It gave me the anchor I needed to pull myself up, get my bible out amd start my day.

I am 22 and a virgin. I have no pact with myself and god to lose it after marriage or anything. I think that is too much pressure. I think I will have sex whenever I am ready and with a person with whom I can connect emotionally. I am not a sexual being, but I hate that some people are being shamed for being one. It is how they are and you can't help it. It's biology. Live and let live. As far as you are not hurting anyone, you can discover yourself as a sexual being and you should not feel guilty about it.

I hate how people make shows about being a teen mom, or kids having sex really early and almost turn it into something alright, but if you say you are a virgin people laugh at you make fun of you and try to make you feel you are not normal. Yes, that’s all not even funny. But it’s not a big deal, they’re just talking. It shouldn’t be something that causes regrets. It’s pretty obvious who gets more respect and is smarter ultimately. Only be with a person if you super serious about them in the first place and have some real boundaries when not married.
I made a pact with God, my parents, and myself to wait until marriage to have sex. I didn't date until I was nineteen. The first boy dumped me when I wasn't trying to have sex. I was sad but let it go. We only dated for a month so we never became a couple. My first boyfriend came along, and sadly, I lost my virginity to him. Worse, I got pregnant. I still struggle for forgive myself. I let God down. Anyway, I tried pushing my boyfriend away, I wanted punishment for what I did. Nope. He said, get out of your feelings, we are going to be parents, and I knew for five years now I wanted to marry you and have a child anyway. So he enlisted in the air force, and we got married a month after my daughter was born. I am very fortunate and blessed. Though I still struggle to forgive myself for not starting my family the right way, I am happy.

Reasons why I love this show is because everything that they are saying is so true and deep. I love how the women are close to each other and support each other. Yes Tamera, forgiveness to yourself is possibly the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Two years ago I was supposed to go to boot camp for the Marines, right before I was to ship out I found out I was pregnant it took me a little over a year and a half to forgive myself because I wanted to be on my own doing my own thing. I'll never forget my recruiter at the time telling me the Marines isn't worth having an abortion, that a baby is way more special. And two years later I'm laying down right here with my baby, I'm glad I listen to Gods plan no matter how hard it was. I never beat myself up so bad before in my life. Makes me wanna cry too thinking abt it, I understand Tamera, I'm happy you forgave yourself too!!

That's your opinion. But a lot of people take it very seriously cause you give yourself to another person and you're completely exposed and vulnerable. It's a sign of love and should happen after marriage in a lot of people's opinions.
