Oh the memories of that beautiful place! Family camping for many years there. As a young teen, I loved hiking even by myself, especially in the mornings, digging in the mud along the shore. Those were the days…
I grew up in Altoona. Prince Gallitzin State Park was a favored destination during high school and college years. I never camped there but had many visits for swimming and picnicking. I had an enjoyable ice skating visit to the marina there with my girlfriend (now wife) and her brother. In later years, we had post-Thanksgiving visits with family to walk, see deer, and visit Sir Barney's Restaurant for coffee and hot chocolate. The park is beautiful and restful. Thanks for the video, Cliff. It brings back memories.
Love your camping videos! Maybe you can get one of those patch kits for your air mattress and give it a second life? The beaver sighting was very cool! Thanks for posting
very relaxing and enjoyable video, Pennsylvania has so much to offer for visitors and residents The new governor is doing a great job, he got the Interstate in Philadelphia going super fast after that fire
My father grew up not far from this park in a small town called Van Ormer. We spent many summers there. My grandmother was instrumental in naming the park. I was hoping you would have mentioned the story Prince Gallitzin. He was a very important person in the early days in that area of PA.
Beautiful sunrise! Gallitzin gets really busy on the weekends. Depending upon which site you get, it can be rather bothersome. We really liked the area though, very scenic, and places to walk from the campground.
Thank you for me taking along on your adventures, loved the camping, the bridges and the views. Made me hungry for pancakes and syrup. Safe travels and I be watching for your next adventure.
I had a small motorboat when I camped there. A slow cruise at sunset to see the deer coming down for a drink was great. You haven’t fully appreciated dog owners till one walks past your fire ring and allows the dog to relieve himself on it.
last time I went to Prince Gallitzin state park was some time in the mid 90s and a tornado went through the park while we were camping. fun times. as far as I know there were no injuries.
Great overnight camping trip cliff, loved seeing the log with ears in the lake too. The pancakes made me hungry for pancakes, I love them with butter and syrup. You know what they say, you probably do not like the taste of coffee if you put cream in it, my hat is off to anybody who takes their coffee black, YUK.😝😝 I have to have my milk and sugar with my morning coffee.😋😋
I camped there several years ago. They really pack ‘em in there at the campground. BUT there are a lot of things to do there and fun places to go close by . Huge lake that we kayaked all around…
What a wonderful place that was. That sunset was glorious. As you say the reflection is beautiful. Glad you had a great time. Thanks for taking me along. Please take care
We love camping in the Cherry Loop at Crooked Run Campground in Prince Gallitzin State Park. We kayak right from the site. Over to pickeral pond to the play ground, over to the main beach...always looking for eagles and herons. The geocaching at PGSP is the best. Always something to do! Man, we literally just missed you at both PGSP and Blue Knob...one of these days we may be in the same place at the same time!
Very cool! My dad is actually a camp host there at the campground, not sure which loop he is at this month. But he is retired and stays just about all summer! Safe travels!
When I was a kid my parents and my aunt and uncle nd their kids(my cousins)went to prince gallitzen several times a summer camping and hiking and swimming. I have so many wonderful memories from and of that place. I only live about 45mins from there now nd my fiance nd I went there last fall and went to headache hill. I absolutely love prince gallitzen ❤
Loved rhis video as I've camped there many times. The last time i was in site 371. We were the only ones in that area. I understand how you get up so early. My trailer has tent bunkends and as soon as it gets light, youre awake! It is a beautiful campground. Thanks for taking me there again.❤
My Mother and Father lived there after they retired from 1989 till their passing in 2014. That campground was always packed all summer long. Lots of things to do there, summer and winter. I use to tell my kids when they had nightmares to stop watching scary movies, sometimes it comes from the food you eat.
Cliff, I just cover the part of the table that I use when I wind up at a campsite with a table longer than my tablecloth. I leave my stove on the bare wood.
The wandering woodsman you should get a three room tent whear you can put everything inside of it ok like.a machine so you can recharge your phone.and your lap top you can put your blow up mattress and it,s.a blow up tent you can put your stove inside of it and you can put your lanterns inside and sleeping bags and cooler.fire place to and blankets and pillows to ok
I agree with the dog & camping. If you take a dog with you, it should stay with you or someone should be with it and not left tied up alone at the campsite. What a pretty place!
You seems to know everything about camping in pa. Do you happen to know any campground with cabins? I’d love to find a kid and dog friendly place with rentable cabins. Thanks for all the great videos!
You say that you're not in a hurry you are packing up your things already why don't you just stay for a while when I always went out camping and fishing I would stay for at least week or two and I didn't have all of that fancy equipment I would just sleep on a blanket next to the camp fire and cook everything over the fire now that's what you call camping
Love to listen to those little waves hit the shore. Huge lake. You changed out our mug. I like the color.

That seemed so nice and relaxing.

This is an awesome state park. I really enjoyed camping with you. Thank you for the adventure.
Cool coffee filter. Coffee = essential 😎☕️
lol...I looked up Monkeys in my dream dictionary. The meaning is : You have deceitful friends. I doubt that they are deceitful. Great video!
What a peaceful sunrise!! Early morning is the best time; quiet and still. Lovely colors!
Yay! camping!

Thank you Cliff,
Better than nightmares about killer clowns......😄
I agree about the camping away from people. It doesn't seem like camping when surrounded so then might as well stay home
Years ago some people would take a piece of old garden hose wrap it in old electric cord copper & pitch it in a fire. Beautiful colors
My Mother and Father lived there after they retired from 1989 till their passing in 2014. That campground was always packed all summer long. Lots of things to do there, summer and winter. I use to tell my kids when they had nightmares to stop watching scary movies, sometimes it comes from the food you eat.
That looks so peaceful! I love the lake. I think I would have put that breakfast skillet on a tortilla with a little shredded cheese and some salsa.
We love the cosmic flames!!!
Cliff, I just cover the part of the table that I use when I wind up at a campsite with a table longer than my tablecloth. I leave my stove on the bare wood.
Hi Beaver Only Saw one once in remote river
I camped there many times. Nice park and good trails.

Hey! Cliff missed a covererd bridge in Bedford, Hall mills on Rt. 26
I agree with the dog & camping. If you take a dog with you, it should stay with you or someone should be with it and not left tied up alone at the campsite. What a pretty place!
Hello from Ohio if you copper on the fire it will make different colors of flames
It's bigfoot saying hello
a bit too hot for tent camping to suit me. hopefully a bit cooler where you're at.
No way! This is where I grew up.
You seems to know everything about camping in pa. Do you happen to know any campground with cabins? I’d love to find a kid and dog friendly place with rentable cabins. Thanks for all the great videos!
Nockamixon SP and Ricketts Glen SP have modern cabins. Dogs are allowed in designated facilities. They are pretty inexpensive too.
They have cabins at Prince Gallitzin, but their not in the campground. Parker Dam has a real nice cabin area.
@@robertganther3695they do have cabins in the campground also
If you look at the state park website it will say if they have cabins or not.
Ever been to the allegheny resivour?
not yet.
@@thewanderingwoodsman7227 this is nothing compared to the resivour. Not yet? When ya going I would love to run into ya!!
At last seen camp sites
Some state parks have cabins
looks like your brekkie could use some tomato sauce...how did the cot go? Was it as comfy as the air mattress?
It was just as comfortable as the air mattress, may have liked it a bit better.
@thewanderingwoodsman7227 That's awesome to hear mate, the cot would be a lot easier and quicker to set up too.
Greetings from Ireland 19th July

💜💐🐕💐💜
bye time tonight
I think Cliff needs a dog to go camping with
Flying monkeys from oz?
You are right about dogs. They suck. Just like generators. Who needs their barking or their mechanical whining?
Probably not monkeys babying Bigfoot
