How this guy turned his life around is just amazing... not even 10 years ago most people would've said he'd be dead or in jail for life, that's how destructive to himself he was. A lot of respect for Tyson!

Their falling out occured in 1997, the rape conviction was in 1992. Despite Don King stealing from Tyson, he represented him, therefore it would be bad for business if his #1 money maker went to jail or was seen in a bad light, so he would be responsible for the defense of Mike Tyson if he would want to continue making money off of the boxer.

But when you break it down, who else became a legend in boxing for his antics in the ring, became infamous for his actions outside of the ring, and can now do his own one man show which people couldn't wait to see? It still seems strange when you picture him biting off Holifield's ear and then seeing him as very little of a threat and even being teased a bit by Conan. But Mike's a good sport. And any smart person knows he never raped that bitch.
He's an original and while he was perhaps the most ruthless fighter in his prime he's such a classy guy outside the ring.. In that sense, he's a throwback to guys like Jack Dempsey & Joe Louis..

It takes a strong man to give up a lifestyle like that and then write a book, exposing his personal life, so that others can get a glimpse into his experience and can potentially learn something from it.
