I have never been able to do fast alternative plucking as in hit me with your rhythm stick. I reach a limit where the string tension limits me getting a reasonable volume on the string and getting the pluck fingers back to the start for the next pluck. You seem to suggest getting the finger right under the string facing the floor the pulling in the ceiling direction, but when you start to pluck faster it seems you are rolling you finger tips in the surface of the string facing away from the fretboard. I think there are some crucial mechanics behind fast finger plucking you aren't referring to here that need to be deployed to do this. It would be wonderful if you could.
