Might well be true. I used to live in the area (Sparkhill), most white people moved out and Asians moved in. They are hardly going buy an expensive Balti or other curry when they can cook at least as well, if not better, themselves. I expect now these restaurants rely much more than they used to on the tourists, rather than the locals. Hence the drop in custom and revenue.

Lol, no it's not. The main reason it's closed, cuz the young people who mainly visit the area don't want food that they can eat at home.
Thing is, Curry is a popular dish with the native white British.
Very few such people live or work in Birmingham nowadays.
Nonsense
Where on earth did you get that thought from? Have you ever been to Birmingham?
Even if that was true are you trying to say the asian community that does live there isn’t eating it ? Its their cuisine
Didn’t see many complain about the native population being displaced by the Balti Triangle in the 70’s.

Because they became copycat restaurants that jumped on the bandwagon serving dreadful food.
There is no need to criticise food, the issues should be legal employment and adherence to hygiene.
