The story of a man who looks like he's played a bank robber in films.
But feeds scrambled eggs to, and rehabilitates, an injured seagull.

That was really nice of you! When I was about 10 years old, I went down to the beach after a hurricane ended and saw waves starting to push a seagull into what was left of the dock down there. It was trying to get free but couldn't fly or out swim the waves/current, so I took a chance and made my way to the end of the dock and was finally able to catch the gull before he slammed into the dock again. I ran home with this huge seagull in the palms of my hands. He was still able to flap his wings a little, but he could not fly. We fed him/gave him water whenever he wanted it. We made a big box with an open top for him with a towel in it. We took really good care of him for about 8 or 9 days. After a full week, he was starting to fly around the house, so on the last day we fed him/gave him water and then brought him back to the beach. The dock was fixed thankfully, so that's where we let him go. He happily flew away. Your video reminded me of that. He was a great and friendly temporary pet, but they need to be outside. I wanted to keep him, but my parents were right about it not being fair to the Seagull. I can't believe that was almost 32 years ago! Sorry for the long comment.

@albert fish if you think a vet will take in a seagull of all things you're one of the stupidest fucking people i've ever met -- and i'm saying that as someone who owns twitter AND reddit, so i'm already surrounded by pretty brainless people.
Eddie was so much kinder and gentler than I've seen any wild seagull, not pecking your fingers or anything.
Yes, it was like he knew from the moment I rescued him that I was there to help him. It was him looking at me and his head following me as I drove past him that drew my attention.. I'm glad I could help.

@@wiggywiggywiggy7961 Once a vicker in Carlisle helped me when I was homeless and then I went to Edinburgh and I got into a coma in hospital and they patched me up and fed me and I was proper Scottish after that! Until some southern b!tch psychiatrist sent me to mental hospital for wondering from town to town and pumped me full of medication against my will. Not sure what the Scottish word is for that but the nice psychiatric nurses taught me a Scottish rhyme to say but I forgotten it! It mentioned the moon I think - was it a poem by Robert Burn? Was he a Scottish poet? Something about the moon I think! Anyway they are much more friendly in Scotland but the milk tastes funny and they aren't shy about locking you up in mental hospitals that haven't moved on much since the 19th century! When I was walked to my ward past the women's blocks I heard women screeming all the way down through the beautiful garden - not exactly good for ye mental health man!

Aw well done Vincent. It's so nice to see kindness these days. I live in Whitby and take care of a family of 3. Charlie, his wife and their little chick. They are not ill, I just feed them three times a day so they survive ok. Seagulls are very loyal, so I am sure it was Eddie who came back to visit you. What a smashing bloke you are.

He looks like a ' lesser black backed' gull. he was probably a young bird that got into trouble, they can have a hard time surviving these days as they are often persecuted by people.....You gave him the care he needed that saved his life.

Hi Sarah, thanks for your comment, he was kinda mangled at the kerb side, he let me pick him up and sat on my lap as I drove home, I think he knew I was probably his only hope 😊
I recently a month ago found a seagull but his wing tip was almost broken off and was unreleasable. I called a rescue and told them his condition and suggested instead of euthanization use him as an ambassador for his species and put him as a educational animal so people can learn from him that way he won't have to be put down and he'll be well cared for, and he can be used learning animal for people. They said that was an amazing idea and they took him from me and thanked me for caring for him

Wow this is such a cool story! Fair play to you! I think seagulls are misunderstood. Any animal that could would get food from bins and chippies instead of hunting.

I've started to see seagulls different since I stopped and helped one that had an injured wing, and that's how I found this video, looking for ones like this and filtering out the mean spirited videos. Seagulls need all the friends they can get ❤️

I love seagulls. There's an army of them living near me and when I put bread on the roof they go nuts. I've named a young one Squeaky because he sits on my roof making high pitched noises when he knows there is food coming up.
I'd feed or help any animal that needs it, good luck with Squeaky and the gang lol

I stayed in a travel lodge in Scotland last night . When I came out in the morning a gull landed next to me . I said hi Eddie . He said feed me or I’ll get my mate to sort you out 😳 so I fed him 😐😁

Eddie is actually a great black backed gull I believe, the biggest kind of seagull! I think he is, it might just be the video quality but his coat appears to be the right colour for it

I think greater black backs have pink legs and lesser black backs have yellow legs. Not entirely sure.
