What's awesome, is that this species is also considered a living fossil. Fossils of Pig-Nosed Turtles that are millions of years old can be found in Northern Australia and New Guinea.

If you don't live in New Guinea or Australia that is not pig-nosed turtle. More likely a softshell turtle.

they’re incredibly rare you probably found a softshell they dont look as chubby and dog like but they are equally as cute and cool

Hi Lizard , The Pig-Nosed turtle is a Freshwater turtle. even though their flippers resemble those of Marine turtles. They are native to freshwater streams, lagoons and rivers of the Northern Territory of Australia.
