I just had a look at the manuals on Frozen Wasteland's VCV page. I am SO EXCITED by these modules! So much mathematics... all I can say is that if I ever write a VCVRack module it will be along the same lines. I love putting maths into music.
That is so cool. A quantizer with probability. I believed that using a switch is the common way to add some variation in a sequence. I really like VCV Rack because of its possibility to generate sounds with variation.
I think the Lambda scale is another word for the Bohlen scale! Which triples the note frequency every octave instead of doubling it like our regular tuning. That's why it's "Tritave" instead of "Octave" on the module. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think that's the gist of it.
6:15 "Hey Gals !!!"....? Am I seeing things? o_O Great stuff, everything probability related is great, that why modular is so interesting to me. Also, the moment I saw Pluk Braids I thought some XFX distortion would be nice.
I just started using the probably note and I love it but I'm very confused by all the lights and colors! I assume it has something to do with weight? The manual also doesn't mention what grey (no light) means, just green for on and red for off
Well, have a look at Mother from Orange Line. It has the same idea behind it and it's a bit easier to use I guess. You might also want to check out Prob-Key from Impromptu. It's not a quantizer, but it has also the same idea behind it, and is very intuitive to use.

Great video... I think Mother just became my go to quantizer.
Yep, it's a nice one indeed!
I think this is a beast of a quantiser. Your explanation as always is great.
Yeah, it's a beauty!
Wow! Great intro to these quantizers.
Thanks!
Oh great job! I tried mother a few weeks ago but didn’t realize it was so powerful
Yeah, it can do so many things, it's great!

Yes, I also love evolving sequences and this quantizer is an amazing tool for this.
Thx Omri !! you'r the best !!
Cheers!
Will check Mother and Fence out. Thanks. Saturday Morning coffee in order first though. :D
Have fun!
Well this is dope, i have to get back to vcv
Hey, thanks!
I like to put my VCA before the filter so that the nonlinearities from the filter respond to the varying amplitude.
Yeah, what I like about putting the VCA after the filter is that I can crank up the resonance and change the sound without getting a constant tone.
@@OmriCohen-Music Advantages both ways, naturally :)

I'm pretty sure you're correct, but I really don't have any experience with these types of scales...
brilliant demo, thank you! (:
edit: Went by to quickly, lol
Thanks :)
Im interested in learning how to get more space into sequences. Not just a steady stream of notes, but random as well.
Oh yes, that's a good one! The music is not in the notes,
but in the silence between.
Did you find a nice way in the meantime ?
QFAM - quantiser from another mother - beautiful noises
Nice!

Yeah, it really does say Hey Gals :) And yes, the XFX distortion modules work great with PLUK
Right click on Mother does not allow selection of "Disable Visualization"?
Yeah, sorry, it will come in the next update... Hopefully soon.
@@OmriCohen-Music Figured that; made it work anyway 😁. You get ALL the newest toys...

6:12 so let’s duplicate this mother 😂
Hello! I was wondering why I can't disable the Visual in mother anymore?
Hi, there was an update I guess...
