The Hong Kong British Parliamentary Debating Championship 2014 ("HKBPDC2014″) was organised by the Debating Society, HKUSU and the English Debate Team of The University of Hong Kong, and in association with Cornell University. It was an English debate tournament adopting the British Parliamentary ("BP") format for secondary school students, majorly those in Hong Kong. The tournament was held from 7th to 9th, Feb 2014.
BP format is one of the most widely adopted debate formats in the world. In addition to many smaller international tournaments, the prestigious World Universities Debating Championship also adopts this format. Through the workshops and tournament, we aim to promote debating especially in BP format among secondary school students, so the participants can improve their critical thinking, global social awareness, oral argumentation, and receive many other benefits from debating.
The motions at HKBPDC2014 were released only 30 minutes before the debate at preliminary rounds and Pre-quarter-finals, and 15 minutes from Quarter-finals till the Grand Final. A debater must only prepare with his/her partner. Debaters were not allowed to get access to the Internet during preparation time and the debate.

The Opening PM has some good points but is stumbling on her own words. If there was more confidence and a flow in what she is saying , It would be comparatively better than how she is speaking at the moment. She also unknowingly repeats her statements

If the speaker suffers from a disability like dyslexia or dysgraphia - his brother uses a tablet too! (We go to the same school.) Any circuit would allow it, from my knowledge.

I dont think that there is a rule that forbiddes acces to telephone(i guess tablet either) during the debate, since its considerated that by that point you already have built a case and prepared the info you need. I know you are not allowed to use them during prep time.But im not very familiar with this format or all the rules so please correct me if I am wrong.
