    Doing our part to try and scrap those clankers, but looks like we're not going to make that Major Order...you can get roughly the same number of kills in a short HVA mission than a full-length one, in a fraction of the time, so this would be the way to farm kills anyway. Almost had a team deathless run too, but uh...accidents happen :P

    Build:
    Autocannon and AMR are the top picks vs bots imo, but for these HVA missions the Autocannon comes in particularly useful for AOEing the bots while they're still in the dropships. With Warrior and his AMR able to pick off Hulk eyeshots at better distances than I can, I'm focussing on brute forcing the Devastators as they come in and taking out Factory Strider miniguns, while Specter's Spear takes out their main cannon. 500kg is my option for doing some direct damage on big targets, while having the 120 mm and 380 mm barrages means we can keep a section locked down with artillery fire.
    I don't have to use it much this game, but the Plasma Punisher is something that's flown under my radar - since its recent buffs it's an amazing weapon vs bots, with a large AOE and good stagger to wreck groups of Devastators. Stun nades as usual help to stop any enemy rushes in their tracks and make those Hulk eyeshots easier to line up.

    Very enjoyable to watch. That was smooth. The last time I did one of these on Helldive, they dropped tanks on top of the rocks to the left overlooking the courtyard, and they were shooting down at us. And then they dropped a factory Strider right on top of our extraction helipad. It was a rough dive. lol

      Yeah, happens a lot more often if a trooper fires off a flare, the bot drops can land in some pretty annoying spots. That landing pad drop is the worst as well, surprise walker can ruin a great run :P

      I had a game like that as well, and in another game a strider glitched through that wall with all its guns, not a fun time.

    That was immaculate gameplay, I can't believe you guys didn't even have to fall back more. I've honestly started recommending to people who want to get better to just watch your gameplay. I know I've improved immensely since I started watching. I'm convinced you're currently one of the best divers out there.

    Glad to see you running the Plasma Punisher + Autocannon for this mission. I'll admit I haven't been confident in testing how I can handle this mission with the Factory Striders, but I guess I'll have to let go of my double mortars for the HE Barrages, for when the two enemy groups merge together.

      Yeah, staggered Barrages are easy mode. You can still finesse the Factory Striders though, main cannon with an AT, front guns with an AC or AMR, then unload on the underside. Didn't make so much use of the Plasma Punisher, but I have another mission in this op to upload where it carries hard!

    Man the Autocannon is so satisfying to use. Ripping shots and blowing stuff up, then cramming more rounds into it in a panic lol. Very fun weapon to use.

      @@newspiked7385 It's balanced very well IMO.
      Unrelated but your video got me wondering - when you fire off your Autocannon it looked (to me) like you were off-target, but then I realized that little floating circle next to your aiming reticle is where the shot is actually going.
      Have I been aiming all wrong? I usually wait for the circle to get closer to the aiming reticle, but it seems if you can manage to aim via the circle you'll hit your targets. For example when you spammed shots at the dropships and tore up everything.
      Sometimes I think than even after 60 hours I don't know the half of how to play this game 😄

      @@GeddyRC ha, yeah, that's how hd2 works - the dot is where you're aiming, and the circle is where your gun is actually pointed, it's a neat system

      @@GeddyRCYeah, the circle roughly where the muzzle is pointing. The closer it gets to the dot, the closer the shot is gonna hit to where the circle is. Obviously, if it’s lined up with the dot, it’s going to then go dead straight. Any weapon that is heavy to turn, like the MGs, is going to be slightly behind where you’re actually facing.

    last time my squad and i did a HVA mission (level 6 diff) we were like. five seconds away from failing the mission because we got pushed all the way back to the generators 😅 I'm super impressed that y'all didn't give a single meter of ground

      I'd love a return of the urban maps from HD1. I imagine they'll be trickier to pull off but they'd feel so different from the other biomes, a lot more chokepoints and fatal funnels.
      Boss fights will be cool too, they were a lot of fun in HD1 though admittedly a little gimmicky, with certain meta tactics dominating.

    Edit: okay, now I actually saw the video; thought I'd edit this comment instead of posting a new one.
    I envy your recoil management on autocannon, you're able to quickly hit devastators 3-4 times on the body in quick succession, I just am not there yet;
    On this mission, I like running servo-assisted, the heavier the better, a Dominator and a Senator, with EMS grenades. With the Autocannon, I run Eagle Airstrike, Orbital Precision Strike (or EAT-17), and when I have a 4th stratagem slot available, I'll get either an Orbital Laser, an Orbital Railcannon, a 120mm barrage or a Mortar Sentry depending on what the mood strikes me.
    With the small space and pretty constant team resupplies on cooldown, I can spare 2x stun grenades for Orbital Extra-Precision Strikes. I'll get the EAT-17 instead in cases where I ask the team if they want an eat-it every minute or so, I won't use them that often. I literally run Eagles on cooldown, the moment it's available and I see anything that's thicker than a default soldier, I throw it.
    I gotta try the Plasma Punisher on this map, sounds like a good idea to just fully empty every mag before resupplying!
    I was also considering an EMS Sentry combined with Napalm Airstrike and maybe the Incendiary Impact. I never tried fire against automatons, I just heard it makes them look cooler while they're killing you. But since I heard that, fire damage got buffed and fixed (yay!), so I was thinking that a napalm DoT might work very well with EMS duration. Thoughts?
    Oh and I loved the random af Seagate drive question in the middle of the intensity xD

      Sounds like a good setup! EATs are great with how much you can stockpile them on this map, I don't like bringing 2 support weapons but now that I know how good the plasma punisher is with devastators, I might drop the Autocannon entitely.
      EMS sentry does good work, things usually get hairy because a trooper get close and calls a bot drop right on you, the EMS field just keeps them locked down and away from the inner walls.
      I think Warrior was getting some joy out of the napalm strike on an earlier run, so definitely worth trying!

    Wow, no offense, but you guys got an easy one! I was running on 7 , team of 4 and we got two striders on first wave, one on second, two on fourth, two on sixth and one on seventh. And that's not even counting like 4-6 tanks along with 6-8 hulks per wave. If that's what level 9 looks like i should play 9 instead, much easier!

      Just a combination of RNG, and bot drop spawns scaled for 3 rather than 4 I think!

      Been there. Same night we had one that immediate dropped off factory striders and everything went to shit before the first evacuation rocket even launched.

      That's why at least one person minimum should bring EATs and stockpile them. As soon as a strider arrives, immediately pop the top cannon with 2-3 rockets so it can't shoot the generators (because it can from most positions on the map).
      Then someone with autocannon can knock out the two miniguns and then run under it and magdump into its belly. We never have problems with the endless waves of striders doing this method (difficulty 9).

      @@epsdudez It’s much faster to pop it with the Spear, takes only one missile and can be locked onto from any range. Well, that is assuming that the Spear’s targeting system is actually cooperating that day.
      It can only hit the generator from two positions outside the inner platform.
      One, over the landing pad if it is dropped off deep to the side. It doesn’t always target the generator, but there isn’t much you can do if it does. There’s not any time to pop its turret unless you’re already in the last area, in which case you’ve got other problems.
      Two, from the middle area if the door is open or destroyed leading to the final area. It can even hit it with its chin miniguns because of how tall it is.
      Fighting tooth and nail to keep the fight contained to the first area before large amounts of enemies can pour through the middle door is critical. That, and not having a sneaky MFer pop off a flare because once that happens, walkers can get dropped off in all sorts of nasty spots, particularly way up top on the rocks. If that happens, you’re likely screwed.

      @@originalSPECTER in my experience, the only issue I have is that striders are so large that when they die, their body blocks all the shots going in but not out. No matter then how many missiles, eat, recoilless, autocannon or mortars you have, the enemy advances about 50m for free from the cover. That is when things can get bad. I wish they would blow up into metal shreds instead of just venting some fire and falling down.
      Another thing i would like to add is that, in my experience, nothing beats a good recoilless team to eliminate tanks and striders, 12 shots in less than 20 seconds and then ressuply, another 12 shots ready.
      Lastly, the thing I see people do often and drives me crazy: shooting down dropships. This is a net negative as the units do not get killed if their dropships is destroyed, only damaged by the dropships physical impact and explosion on the ground... And the dropships crashes faster than gravity pulls the units that were on its belly latches so it only hurts/destroy those already on the ground. Plus, it blocks line of sight, thus line of fire to any enemy that is beyond the dropships carcass.
      Other than that, this is my favorite combat scenario in the game so far, defending against overwhelming odds.

      The fixes they made to it make it a far superior weapon than it was introduced as. Before, it felt like lobbing a water balloon mostly filled with air. Now, it’s more like throwing a baseball.
