At the beginning of every video, when Chris is talking and Cooper is just nodding with an intense look on his face, he looks like a professional wrestler that's about to kill his opponent.
This looks so good. Better in person as you'd see more of the grain. Now I love a les paul.. gold top for sure...love the black..really dig the green apple one...but this just has something else for me. That sound just drops well. Love it ❤❤
I have and had quite a few Gibson guitars with two humbuckers each. They were all great for different reasons (mostly they just looked so cool that I just had to have them), but they all sounded pretty much identical. Of course, there were slight differences. It would be weird if there weren’t, because none of the Gibsons I had or have were equipped with the same pickups, although they were all medium output pickups. Maybe my ears aren’t as sharp as yours, but I never felt the need to swap the original pickups for something else. Except for this one time when I thought about taking the original humbuckers out of my Explorer and replace them with the unbelievably good sounding TV-Jones Paul Yandell Duo-Trons. You would need special TV-Jones pickup rings for these (and other) pickups to properly replace them. I just wanted to have a guitar with those Duo-Trons. Apart from that, they’re fine. Although I probably WOULD replace them when I had a Gibson with original pickups with too much output. But Gibson doesn’t really do that very often, do they?
I really like the look of these, if I didn’t already have so many Gibsons I’d opt for one of these hah! Tonally, it sounds like a Les Paul 🤣 I don’t have Superman hearing so most LP’s simply sound like LP’s to me so it’s more about the look you like and color. I do like the TV yellow ones more than the red ones they’re making as well, that black binding contrasts it much better imo 🤙
Ordered one right away when these were released. Unfortunately sent it back because in person the tv yellow just looked dull in comparison to the custom shop guitars. The black binding on the neck looked kinda strange, too.
I love my TV yellow special. I have never been comfortable playing a carved top LP for some reason. I can wrench and bend on it for hours without having to tune, and it breathes fire and snarl, or liquid silk, or pull out a pot for tele or Peter Green; or tweak out a woman tone. Pretty sure it is the only LP I will even need.
for the experiment I must say, I saw that experiment in two different points of my life. First time: younger, metalhead and there is no enough distortion for the guitar, knobs all up to 10 and no idea how those things worked. Back then it sounded the same for me. Second time and more recent: now that I've learned to listen and enjoy the sound of a guitar, there is so much difference in the sound.
I think the more likely origin of "tv yellow" is that there were actually televisions made in the 1950s that were the same color as "tv yellow." It doesn't make sense that Gibson painted Specials and Juniors in that color to be shown on tv but not standards which would have been more likely to have actually been shown on tv at the time.

By far the best thumbnail I've seen in a while with Cooper in the background
I have seen one of these recently, as well as the red one that has black binding. They look cool but I prefer the more traditional looks.
Actually I do notice how good your videos have gotten.
The sound leans more towards the SG sound. Which makes sense with the mahogany instead of the maple.
My ‘72 Les Paul recording, low impedance pickups, had an all mahogany body.
It sounds YELLOW

love the black binding and tv yellow stain bought mine a month ago

It has more body to the sound. I have five les pauls, and they all sound different. This one doesn't sound like any of them. I like it !
I’ve got a 2009 mahogany top studio. TV yellow was called Limed Mahogany. It was the furniture trend at the time. No one played a junior on tv.
It sounds good. Without a comparison there is nothing more to say tone wise. It looks great, too.

Beautiful. Love it.

Sounds great, would be good to compare the tones against a current 50's standard with a Maple top.
Looks and sounds nice
It looks, and sounds good but you did not mention the build quality. It would be interesting to know. 😊
Speaking of JB, Sounds a lot like my Epiphone, Bonamassa Lazarus 💜 also all Mahogany.
I like it!!

Very cool guitar. Not sure that I could hear a definite difference though.
Just a bit less muddy and a little more mid range.
Definitely sounds like a Gibson Les Paul Yellow.

And the price is?

Chris is correct
Fastest click in a while
Sounded brighter than a maple top ..not so much in the midrange
Looks like mustard, hope it doesn't taste like mustard because i really don't like mustard..
What I think it sounds like? It sounds yellow, obviously.
Sorry what part of the mahogany induces a current in a coil? Oh none of it? Weird.
But what happens to vibrations? Oh, never mind.
Why this one and not a special?
I think Gibson make their guitars out of lead these days not mahogany.
Leave Mr Bonamassa alone
