      I’m wondering how many of these spices do I need to include in one song?

    Brilliant thanks Scott. New mic working excellent. Much louder vocals but not picking up the horn 👍👏

      Thanks! It's a little bit more dry but not so much background noise... or cars driving by... or ice cream trucks... etc 🤣

    Great sound Scott, please kindly do a video on how , when and where you can apply a lick on a song or melody. Or if you already have a link that can help me out kindly share it with me. Thank you

    What a great tips, sir! I really appreciate it! And of course I'll share too with my friend. My favorite "spice" to my saxophone is grace notes, neighbor tones, vibrato, dynamics, accents, and articulations. I sometimes use trill depends on the song I played. Thanks, Sir!

    I like to stop my notes short and give a quick holler through the sax. Sounds ridiculous, but it's fun!

    • @ScottPaddock
      @ScottPaddock  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That sounds like a signature technique... I've used that once or twice before when I keep messing something up $^%&%$^@! 🤣😅😂

  • @Mellow985

    Scoop from below is my favorite and the one I do most often, I find it puts a lot of "feel" when you get into that note. As for the vocal mic, quality is good, but it's not loud enough compared to the sax.

    The sound is good. You're always mixed pretty soft relative to other videos though. The mic was warm but added a bit more room sound--which felt nice, not echo-y.

    • @ScottPaddock
      @ScottPaddock  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm, I generally think I talk to loud so I specifically turn things down. Maybe I'll try one with a louder volume and see what the general consensus is. I get - you talk to loud - as a comment a lot, which is true in real life too. 😁

    Another great vid. Sound was OK, but if I’m honest I prefer the old set-up - worked better with your tone and style.

    • @ScottPaddock
      @ScottPaddock  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't change my sax mic at all. Just my vocal mic. I use 2 different mics.

    • @andrewcranmer9653
      @andrewcranmer9653 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scott Paddock Sorry, yes, meant the vocal mic. But I think I was wrong and the new setup does work better. Anyway, great content as always 😎

  • @FunkOsax
    @FunkOsax 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’m listening using a high quality audio setup, and quite often Shure earphones, and I’m used to your videos, but I’m afraid the new mic sound is not as good as your old setup. Sounds like you’re talking from a another room

    • @ScottPaddock
      @ScottPaddock  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure in a super pro setup like that it might sound a bit different. The reason I switched is because the other mic picked up everything going on around me on the street outside of my house. So I needed something that was a bit more limited. I live in the city in Baltimore so there is a constant stream of trains, planes, boombox cars, people walking down the street, ice cream trucks etc.

    • @FunkOsax
      @FunkOsax 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ScottPaddock I never found the environmental sounds intrusive, or even noticed them that much.
      With the new setup, there seems to be a slight sort of doubling effect as well, by-the-way, but it's probably just a proximity thing.
      Anyhow, your sax always sounds amazing - I seem to remember you saying that you used a clip-on.
