Raised in Michigan, but My extended family is from Corbin. Been there every year from 2wks old through my 30's... 50 now. Lots of bitter sweet memories 💕
Checking out this video of yours because a co-worker supervisor of mine that retired moved there. I texted him this morning after seeing all the news of flooding going on in Kentucky to check up on him and make sure him and his family are okay. He replied that "All is good, we're in Corbin Kentucky." So I had to look up a video of Corbin Kentucky
I'm a new england native but fell in love with KY Tennessee Virginia people much nicer oh and in OK people so nice just seems like place I would love to live I ended up getting stuck up here so I watch these types of videos I miss traveling as a young person.
I lived in Richmond, VA, She lived in Hustonville, KY. We met in Fort Worth TX going to Seminary. We were on Christmas break. My folks drove me to Corbin where we met up with my future wife and her mother at the truck stop next to I-75. We had a good meal before parting with my parents and we headed up I-75 up to Livingston exit. That was back in 1977. She and I flew back to Fort Worth and I finished up my studies, we left Fort Worth for Kentucky where we were married. It was the best 20 years of my life.
True value was a piggly wiggly, the famous Pizza & Company! The little car hop place on main right next to the storage facility, was 1 of the 1st original Sonics in Corbin. I grew up on 15th street. The Grubb family from 1975 till 2013. Miss this place so much! Boy has it changed!
@@IgnitedCoyote my brother is still there just at the end of main pDt the bypass in woodbine! His son works at Austin city. My parent's have a homes in London off old laurel rd! But they are snowbirds, they go back and forth From Illinois to Kentucky. My roots are from BVille most my family is in Bville. I wish I could live there again. But im stuck here in Indiana for now! Hopefully someday 🙏
I use to live there when I was a kid. My best friend parents used to own the drive in theater you passed. His name was Jody Botner. I have a lot of fond memories in Corbin.
Around 7:47, the stone house on the right, it was my childhood home. The place next too it, the one that looks like an old SONIC, it use to be a car lot owned by a man who went by the name Mr. Patterson. The white building across from stone house and Mr. Patterson's old car lot, if not mistaken, had HAMILTON painted on the side. On the other side of the stone house, it was a day care center. A little ways past that, what use to be Piggly Wigglies is now a TRUE VALUE, I believe. The beige pizza place on the left, I wonder if it's still open. The fact it was so close to home back then, I was always fascinated by it. Anyway, I'm glad I came across this video. I've definitely felt a great deal of Childhood Nostalgia.
I prefer your videos because you take the time to show businesses and other things of interest when others just fly through a town showing no content except traffic signals. Keep up the great work.
I looking forward to visit all the places over there . It's so nice . My girl is from Gray's knob . She's with me in the Netherlands right now . And were planning to go back to Harlan as soon as possible. Love you're videos. 👍
This is the second time I've commented on this, and though it may be irrelevant, whereas it's not that time of year - it is just me.. or was Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas in Corbin always awesome in comparison to other places? Does anybody remember the Holidays in Corbin during the 90s? It seems as though ppl rarely, if ever, put the same initiative into the Holidays anymore, and I've noticed it for nearly a whole two decades. Then again, I haven't been to Corbin during the Holidays since I was 9 or 10 years old (22/23 year ago). So there's a possibility it may have been that Corbin was awesome during Holidays as opposed to people not taking initiative to put up holiday decor. So anybody who lives in Corbin, or anybody who is from Corbin, can you tell me... was and is the Holiday decor in Corbin always awesome, or did the initiative to put up Holiday decor fade over time?
THE NEXT TIME SOMEBODY WANT TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT CORBIN PUTTING BLACKS OUT SAY NEXT TIME DID YOU KNOW THE CITY OF CORBIN TELL HIM AND DID YOU KNOW THAT MOB THAT CAME INTO CORBIN WAS PROSECUTED? HE'LL NO! LEAVE CORBIN ALONE I AM BLACK AND GAY AND LOVE HER FOR OVER 15 YEARS AND THEY LOVE ME

Corbin is one of the most underrated towns. It is fairly unique in that it sits in three counties. Knox, Whitley, and Laurel.
beautiful town

ON weather does they get a lot of snow there and very cold weather ? and cost of living is it pretty reasonable. Thanks ~
It's in Kentucky so they get a good variety of weather, sometimes all in one day. Cost of living is good compared to Lexington and Louisville.
