I grew up going to the Cumberland falls i have been hundreds of times i was borne in Corbin Kentucky I used to swim above the falls when I was young but its not allowed any more ,,, its a very magical place in the world ,, when the Cumberland river floods it is much larger the river comes all the way up to the gift shop and its quite scary I used to go inside the caves when I was little boy and walk by my self down the river to the beach it is one of the most beautiful places on earth ,,,my heart is connected to Cumberland Falls ,,,I Love it ,,I feel its a part of my life.
These mean so much to me. The slow pace of filming and gentle music, and especially the warm smiles. Life can get pretty rough out there, and these nice videos help keep me glued together. You are doing more than travel logs here, you are doing soul therapy. :)
Hello, pretty pretty Falls.Kentucky is a beautiful state glad you are having fun with your friend's.Have fun adventures you two. Thanks for the nice video.
Glad you guys are enjoying what KY has to offer, we have some pretty amazing state parks as well as many other places to enjoy. Also want to wish Mindy a Happy Birthday and glad she got to spend it in Ky. Love your videos guys they are better than watching TV!!!!! Keep on Keeping on !!!!!
Happy Birthday Mindy. Will you and Dawn take us on so many great journeys thank you for sharing the beauty of the mountains I love the falls thanks for another great video
Very nice video and the commentary was great. I really enjoyed the film you put on TH-cam, I really appreciate that you shared with the world. I’m from Mayfield, KY and the only time I’ve been to Cumberland Falls was when I was probably 8-years-old, which would have way back in 1967. Live in Nashville, TN now. So different from the photo my Mom has of the falls. You could see a rainbow from any vantage point, way back when. I have a good friend I graduated high school with whose family is from the area and said at night you can see a Moon-bow.
I took my 14 yo son there the other day. You had a great vista of the Falls. We had rain recently and the waterfall was so intense, you couldn’t see the literal falls due to the amount of mist. Best of luck to your channel!
Happy Birthday Mindy! I have happy tears flowing. My grandparents raised me in Hamilton, Ohio. They were both born and raised in Corbin. What wonderful memories of that place!🥰 Thank you so very much for taking us there. 👍😊
You all have the prettiest smiles and the sweetest spirit about you i enjoy watching your videos so much will i will be joining all about t-shirts love the places y'all visit they are so interesting....☺
Happy birtbday Mindy. The water was very low on this video if you think its beautiful then you should see it when the water is normal . So glad you enjoyed your visit . I've lived in gray and corbin and Williamsburg ky all of my life and when I lived in Williamsburg I was about 10 minutes away from the falls I love the falls also and it makes me proud to see videos like this . COME BACK AND VISIT AGAIN .
we were just there a couple weeks ago and I think we didn't explore more around the falls, I would have loved to see that cave and the overlook on that side. Thank you for sharing! beautiful video!
Happy Birthday Mindy! such a gorgeous place. It was 99 degrees. here in Bama today. i think we broke a record for the 1st of October. thanks for the video!
Happy Birthday, Mindy!!!! Love this, it has been ages since I have been there... you can tell they need the rain, the water is not up in the wading pool up top... and that the flow was reduced to what it used to be, don't know if that is a normal thing now or not (like I said I have not been since before I got sick) . I could imagine living or camping on those cliffs with the falls in the background- oh man I bet you could sleep like crazy with that sound :)... There was another place we use to go, I think it was Pineville, KY to where they had a rock chained to keep it from breaking off the mountain. The nest thing about the hike over to it is there is one huge rock that looks like it has a human brain pattern to it. (I think it was Pineville? I could be very wrong though- it was a town that we saw them (years ago) constructing the wall around it to keep the river below from flooding the town. The crazy part is you would never imagine the water could get that high- but it has (scary stuff). I loved seeing this, makes me want to keep pushing and getting back out there!
The chained rock is indeed in Pineville and yes this is the falls at a very dry time of year. Sometimes it floods so much it just looks like a little hump in the river and it gets into the gift shop.
Such a beautiful place, we have been there numerous times through the years. I remember one time one we were told that Cumberland Falls is only one of two places in the world that has a moonbow. The other I believe is in Africa.
Hey all. I don’t know what’s on your designation plan for your road trip. While you’re in South Carolina you should definitely makes stops in Greenville, Charleston and Hilton Head. While in North Carolina, you should check out Charlotte, Asheville, and the Outerbanls. Signed, A Carolina Girl ❤️
Cumberland Falls is one of only two places in the world where you can see a moonbow (at least a recurring one - technically any waterfall can have them occasionally, but only Cumberland Falls and one in Zambia are regular).
funny story about Cumberland falls... so when I was a young kid, around 4 or 5 years old, 1984/85 my family from northeast Tennessee went to Cumberland Falls. so that day i met my imaginary friend, pancho is what his name was. so back home in tennessee i played with pancho every day! i seen this guy, lol so i can still describe him. he was a burly lumber jack sortta fella. i remember his clothes looked really old he was late 20's i guess. crazy i know! so after a couple years the family went back to the falls and i played with pancho, keep in mind, at that time you could swim literally on the falls. so we get in the car to leave the park and i was crying , mom asked what was wrong and i told her pancho is gone, he went over the falls. i remember him smiling and waving as he was going over the falls. sometime i wonder if he could have been a ghost of someone that went over the falls.... any ways, thats a true story from my childhood, crazy i think
