    This is great news - I have been a regular shopper at Decathlon’s in Thailand for a few years now. So happy they have come to Cebu. The range at Decathlon is amazing, and as you say, the prices are very reasonable (and clearly marked)

    Wow, that’s an impressive store. Back home we had Backwoods, Cabelas, and Dicks.
    Bicycles here are popular but more expensive than in the states. I brought two Huffys with me. Paid about $120 each and the same bike here is almost double.
    I do like the clothing choices. Hope I can get up there one day and stock up. Great video Rod. Take care.

    Decathlon over here (Rotterdam Netherlands) has a selection of fishing gear. I always get my items at this shop, shirt's cargo pants, winter jackets etc. The reason they have good prices is because they design / produce it themselves. I was at an Autodesk engineering conference some years ago in Las Vegas where they were giving a presentation about using Autodesk engineering software for their products. It's a French company if I remember well.

      Thanks for the info. I checked out their website and they said they only deliver to the USA, big market there. They will probably put a lot of smaller stores out of business with these welcome low prices.

    We had a Decathalon within walking distance of our first home here in Cavite. I loved going there, especially for shoes for my kids. Wait until they have clearance sales for shoes and, with the great exchange rates we get now, buy yourself some great shoes for under $10.

      @AmazingPhilippines1  หลายเดือนก่อน

      LOL! I was surprised that security allowed me to video in the store. I did notice once I left the store, I had security seeming to follow me around so probably not allowed even though people do it with phones all the time.

    There is one at SM Clark. I have bought a few things from there. Good quality. No staff hassling you. Self check out is great, just remember to bring your own bag.

      Cool. I enjoyed the experience also. No salespeople hassling you. I did have to buy a bag there or carry it by hand. I think I have 300_+ "eco bags" but never carry them around except for a trip to SnR or Landers.

    Regarding the lifespan of walking shoe's. Many years ago an insider in an Australian tyre manufacturer told me they varied how hard or soft the tyres were to maintain annual sales! Anecdotal but likely true.

      I think that is accurate Rod. I have mentioned to many here in the PH that motorscooter tires seem to wear very quickly.

      Cabelas bought by Pro Bass but service bad and quality lacking. Drove a semi 12 years and had been to many. How are shoes sizes.

    Why fishing gear is missing. I think Filipinos see fishing as a livelihood and not as a sport or recreational activity

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Many Filipinos do make their living fishing and I was walking downtown near the public market side street and came across lots of fishing supply businesses.
