    This video should be required viewing for ppl interested in martial arts. Actually the entire channel should be. Every video is spot on. Dude has definitely spent a lot of time in & around combat sports. It gives ppl a perspective that can't be gained from just dojo training. This channel & Icey Mike's are probably the best two MA channels on youtube.

      Luckily, I care enough about being right to check myself, shock and fucking terror I was dead wrong. And sure, glasses on walls don't do much to help, but they do help a little, irregardless of open space or not.

Rokas on the other hand is far too nice in dealing with those buffoons especially when he does not have to present any explanations to those fellows. why do they feel offended anyways? like let's investigate together what works and what doesn't and get to the bottom of this rather than get territorial and defensive about their art- which clearly sucks btw

      @@kaybee8950 Ah, I see what you're doing.
      The actual title of the Defense Lab video was "How to Defend Yourself From Multiple Opponents."
      I suspect that you're trying to draw a distinction between him promising to teach you to "defend yourself" and me talking about "beating up" multiple attackers.
      1. I write the script before I look for relevant examples, so what I'm saying is rarely a 'perfect' match up to the clip I show. I picked it because it was a demo that clearly showed multiple attackers in a very short amount of time. I would have used any example that fit that qualification.
      2. What he IS promising is still just as much of a fraudulent lie.
      While you can argue I misrepresented what he SAID, I did not misrepresent his credibility.
      Here's my video on defending against multiple attackers: th-cam.com/video/gYcFt8gN3vs/w-d-xo.html
      3. This video was intended mainly for comedy. It's pretty clearly NOT a detailed argument against any specific people (is it kind of a direct criticism of Remy, though). @revariox189 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Still awaiting the day your video will be positive instead of negative...
    Title could have been how to be a proper martial artist or how to ensure you are in a good school. Take all your points and reverse them....
    I was under the impression martial arts were a positive thing. This channel so far has offered negativity and downers. The points you pass across are exrtemely important (for those who havent heard them before) its just too bad it always comes across as attacking or putting down others. Just promote what works and dont talk about what doesnt. No need to focus time on what is useless.
    As per saving moneys to people or ensuring they are on the right path, I posit that most of the people who want a short answer will still refuse the truth or hard work.
    I am not sure who your audience is i guess, but as a long time martial artist I am not seeing anything unseen or uneard before.
    I think you have lots of knowledge and things to pass on to younger generations. Its just the method I have a hard time understanding...
    Its also important that one knows what they are looking for. And yes some are looking for a quivk fix/sport activity that will make them sweat while gicing them a sense of confidence (false of course). They are not trying to compete or even be efficient, because any system takes more then a few months or years to be properly efficient with. Yeah sure puches and kicks but proper combination knowing how and when to use whichever, how to close distance blah blah blah I dont have to tell you that, you obviously are training and seem to have been doing so for a while. You know that even after you think or seem to know everything there is still so much more...
    Point is, martial arts (real ones) are not for everyone. Most like to pretend (even in serious classes). People like to think they know how to fight and like to be dominant (even tough society tells us dominant is bad) yet dont want to actually learn it and by thr same token admit they dont know anything. Taking a class is admitting you dont know and are willing to learn. Ego comes into play too often.
    Again, nice and intelligent content. Important content too, kids need to know about these things (kids or beginner but I assume adults have a bit morr of critical thinking and can analyse things on their own) as it can be easy to confuse or pillage people with wrong or false information. Lets not even talk about cults (I mean, you should but not what I am trying to say here lol) or other bizzare things some group make their students do.
    They have an acendent on them and pretend to impart knowledge they cant get anywhere else (which is false again) and some people are willing to do some "interedting" things to get what they want... It is a sad state of things.
    Rokas from Martial Arts Journey has a video on that with a guest where they go in a lot more details....
    Thabks again for taking the 24hours to read this message.... So damn long lmao
    Thanks sir

      @institches2750 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have to disagree with your first point. Knowing what DOESN'T work can be extremely useful. Especially to a beginner, learning only the positive--what works--doesn't differentiate between what is simply irrelevant/an acceptable variation and what will fail. I often find myself wishing more content creators would point out "not to do's."
      Also, a seemingly negative title gets more views. It's somewhat human nature to pay more attention to the "bad." Content creators deserve to eat too.

    • @revariox189
      @revariox189 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@institches2750
      I agree on all you say. I simply disagree with the method he used.
      I also think if you go to class and your teacher instructs you properly you should be able to ask questions and no doubts should be left by the end of the session. Doubts as per the efficacity of a technique and how to execute it. Bad habits or method or techniques will be weeded out.
      For someone who has no knowledge whatsoever it may be helpful if they also do more research on their own.
      As per TH-camrs needing to eat I cannot disagree with that. Wierdly lots of others manage to find a way to remain positive or avoid the negative and seem to be doing fine. Art of one Dojo is an exemple same with Jesse Enkamp. They try real hard to not offend anyone (sometimes to their detriment cuz when something is crap there is no 1000 ways about it). So I think it is possible to have content that is not focused on the negative and still have views. But again, it all matters as per who your public is.
      Bizzarely on youtube most content creator are preaching to the choir. Rare are the ones who are getting only new peoole and therefore cannot set continuity.
      If the crowd he targets is more prone to respond to negativity/shock then yes thats what he needs to do.
      Maybe I am the problem and I am not his target audience...
      But then again I feel his audience might be college age and recently starting Martial arts and want to compete/ be effectice fast.
      So MMA and the style he support is what I reccomend seeing more of and less bashing of the others. Screw them they dont work we dont care. We care and want to se what does.
