@AmberDENNIS: Hi, Amber. I believe you also commented elsewhere on our videos. This is the problem when people take Scripture out of balance. The one who reads Romans 9 needs to keep reading because Romans 10 teaches that "everyone" who believes will have eternal life. Romans 9 is true and so is Romans 10. The end of Romans 9 makes a transition into why Gentiles are saved and Paul's Jewish brethren weren't - and it's all about faith. Romans 10 is abundantly clear that whoever believes - not just Jews, but Jew AND Gentile - has eternal life. Thanks.
This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 1 Tim. 2:3-4 It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring. For this was how the promise was stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.” Not only that, but Rebekah’s children were conceived at the same time by our father Isaac. Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad-in order that God’s purpose in election might stand: not by works but by him who calls-she was told, “The older will serve the younger.” Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden. One of you will say to me: “Then why does God still blame us? For who is able to resist his will?” But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’ ” Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use? What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath-prepared for destruction? What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory- even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles? As he says in Hosea: “I will call them ‘my people’ who are not my people; and I will call her ‘my loved one’ who is not my loved one,” and, “In the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’ ” Romans 9:6-26 No contradictions here. Just move along.

And finally, but most importantly, pray that Gods’ will be done so powerfully that his works may be glorified on earth. In the name of Yeshua/Jesus Thank you and God bless each and everyone of you.
Distinction between decreetive and revealed will. God hates iniquity wherever he finds it outisde of Christ and so loves His elect in Christ from eternity. At the same time Christ urges and pleads with sinners to turn to him. As repentance and faith are conditions we can say Christ desires all men everywhere to be saved as all men are commanded to believe but we cannot say the same for what he has purposed in himself to do. In regard with our responsibility no one can say "Christ did not urge me to turn to him and did not plead with me." But we must also say that in regard of God's sovereignty He has only willed some to be saved and that efficaciously he only desires to redeem His elect for these He has in his bosom from eternity as His sheep and for these He died and gave or actively offered Himself up as their priest. Everyone is commanded to believe upon him as their priest yet materially and objectively it was only for the elect we just don't know their identity. Love the bit at the end btw. How cold-hearted are we!! Makes me tear up.

Nicholas, Becoming a believer in Christ has nothing to do with having a pastor. You need to repent from your sins and trust with all your heart that Christ has paid for your sins. As a result, you will receive The Holy Spirit and become a new redeemed and regenerated person. Then The Holy Spirit will assist you to live according to God's will. After coming to Christ, you can ask The Holy Spirit to guide you to a good church.
You don’t need a pastor to be Saved. Repent of you sin and confess with your mouth from you heart JESUS died for you & GOD raised Him from the Grave. Look up ROMANS Road to Salvation. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. I'm curious to know Tim and James' positions on whether future sins are forgiven at the moment of justification actually or only virtually? The scriptural view is that they are actually.
Hi, I'm not sure of you're a Christian or not (I won't presume). There's a fundamental of the Christian faith that you are missing here, but it's that fundamental which answers your question. Jesus Christ paid it all on the cross at calvary "it is finished". That means all manner of sin is forgiven for those who have placed their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and follow Him. Past, present, future. So basically, future sins are forgiven if we choose to accept that forgiveness. Remember, obedience is better than sacrifice; we're not to put the LORD our God to the test, we can't keep on going back to those same sins, grace is no license to sin. Imagine how many people backslide and then die in that state, in an unrepentant state of mind. It's very worrying to think about. They never thought they would die but death found them. We must show our repentance is genuine both in spirit and in action because our faith without the works through the Holy Spirit is dead and as I said before, the scriptures say that obedience is better than sacrifice etc. We can't overcome sin as we are now, we ask Jesus to overcome in our place during times of temptation to sin by having no confidence in ourselves and placing it all on the Lord Jesus alone. Simply, if you backslide or fall into a new sin - *repent immediately* . If you have the Holy Spirit you will feel grieved because you will be grieving the Holy Spirit Himself and in turn this is what makes you not want to repeat that sin again, we are commanded to resist the devil and he will flee from us. We are commanded to walk closer with God day by day and in doing so be conformed to the image of His only begotten Son. We're showing the condition of our heart when we do and who and what we truly love. However, if a person does not feel much or any grievance at all then be very afraid because your repentance is most probably not genuine and you are really risking falling away. In such a scenario, run to God immediately! A person must throw themselves at the feet of Christ Jesus and cry out for mercy, trusting that their sin will be forgiven. He will never leave you nor forsake you, for He is always faithful and just to forgive even when we are not faithful. But, we can leave and forsake Him and this will be evident in our own thoughts and actions. Remember, Jesus said that many will say to Him on that day of judgement "Lord! Lord!" But Jesus will respond "DEPART FROM ME! I NEVER KNEW YOU!". That's a truly terrifying thought to me. And our Lord Jesus will say this to those who honoured him with their lips alone (lukewarm casual Christians), but had decieved themselves into thinking they were saved but they had never truly repented and had a change of heart (grace was abused). God will not force His forgiveness, love, mercy and worship of Him onto anyone. It is we that make the choice whether we want it or not and that's what makes it even more genuine. I repeat, obedience is better than sacrifice. Every time we sin we're saying we know better than God, that God's judgement is worth scoffing at (i.e. no fear of God's authority) so we can sin and we are pretty much spitting on Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. None of those things are to be toyed with. God's wrath is eternal and not to be trifled with. Hope that helped in some way. God bless you ✝️📜
I believe virtually, or legally and that some are actually forgiven. I wouldn't make a big stand on this, but with sanctification in view, it is like there is a second salvation that takes place in real time. Where judgment falls on our carnal members and our corruptions are fought through. Of course this is all empowered by Grace through Christ. We have access into this by faith. Of course this also means we are predestined into these paths of righteousness by the Grace of God to begin with. Whether we can turn off of them and get stuck with unresolved judgement of the flesh is another topic as well. I hate to agree with any doctrine of Rome, but punishment for Christians is a Biblical concept in my opinion. I just don't agree with them on any of the specifics.
Hi @@denvercrucifixion5928 So the issue is whether a Christian can fall into a heinous sin and still be forgiven or whether he must repent and believe again before he can be forgiven so that if he dies in that impediment condition he will go to hell. This was the position of (Anthony Burgess) which he defends in his book "the true doctrine of justification." The only difference is that he believes in twofold impossibility meaning that while it is impossible for someone be unjustified he also believes it is impossible to die in an impediment state as a Christian so that you will never eventually go to hell. I would argue that passages such as being passed from death to life and that there is now no condemnation include the forgiveness of these sins so that there is always down-payment. If a Christian runs into sin he will be miserable and loses his comfort but not His forgivess. Jeremiah Burroughs would argue that no sin can separate us from the love of God and that no one would be justified if this was true because if our forgiveness required our faith and repentance because these are imperfect and we need something to cover these as well meaning future sins must be forgiven or else no one could be saved because there would be a continual cycle of repenting of your repentance.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8, 10
All sin. We are not under the law. You sin everyday. If you want to follow the Judaic law, you have to do the whole law. No one loves God with all of their heart, no man loves his neighbors as himself. Christ did, fulfilling the law. Christ established righteous, not you, or me. Living in sin, walking in sin, means you haven’t been regenerate. I sin, but I fight with every part of my being not to, but I do. It’s the path I walk of sanctification that is different than the path of not caring about it. It’s complex. I’ll gain eternal life because Christ imputed his cloak of established righteousness on my shoulders. I’m not saved because my works earn my salvation. I’m saved because of His mercy . Free, undeserved. Ephesians 1:4-5 / AV 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Pastor Tim, I love your teaching, yet I do feel this one is very much superfluous (and I'm afraid, counterproductive in some cases). I find in no place that any of the apostles or prophets needed to "justify" God in this matter and to try to explain away His actions (let the sinner know from the get-go that our God is not one to be questioned and that it is foolish arrogance to even think of doing so!). One will easily see that God's sovereign decree and sincere offer are in no way contradictory if one is familiar with Scripture at any decent level and that all the Biblical writers took it all in stride--I should like to suggest we all do the same.
Im in agreement with you 100% although im not sure u grasp the full circumstances of Christ return (Amos 5:18) WOE unto you that desire the day of the LORD to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness and not light (Zephaniah 1:14-18) The great day of the lord is near the mighty man shall "CRY BITTERLY" that day is a day of WRATH a day of trouble n distress a day of wasteness n desolation a day of darkness and I will bring distress upon men that they shall walk like blind men becuz they have sinned againt the LORD and their blood shall be poured out as dust and their flesh as the dung
I see what you’re saying. But also, people like me have been struggling with so much confusion (I have been for months now) regarding man’s responsibility vs election so videos like this help. Yes, we have no right to question God’s character, but asking tough general questions about these seemingly contradictory things is fine and struggling with confusion is normal too. So videos like this where pastors remind us of the scriptures where the complexities of God’s character are shown, really help in dark seasons
I hate sin, my existence is one of perpetual repentance. At the end of the day, have I been forgiven or not. I believe scripture teaches ELECTION. Ephesians 1. That is my assurance. He saved me IN SPITE of knowing what a depraved sinner I am, and I will forever be grateful, awed at His mercy to me a sinner. This I will obey Him, crucify my flesh daily until I die. I live to warn the unregenerate of the wrath to come. But am mindful to remember and explain to them my woeful estate. Hypocrisy is a description God hates. I just think you need to understand this , as , your name on your posts makes it look as if you live in sinless perfection and everyone else is condemned because salvation is up to the individual. It’s not, God intervenes. I don’t believe in autonomous free will of the individual. It’s heresy.
We preach but it is not us that preaches it is Christ and people, who at one time did not believe, believe because God gave it to them to believe. We on the outside only perceive a choice but they on the inside, through the Holy Spirit, perceive grace

Thanks.

1 Tim. 2:3-4
It is not as though God’s word had failed. As he says in Hosea: “I will call them ‘my people’ who are not my people; and I will call her ‘my loved one’ who is not my loved one,” and, “In the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’ ”

Or God has extended salvation to all and only some become regenerated because only some accept the light of the Gospel

Pastor Conway, as I don't have a pastor at this time, what's the proper way to accept Christ into my life?
Nicholas,
Becoming a believer in Christ has nothing to do with having a pastor.
Romans 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Larry, who was your remarks directed at?
Ok…
@Emmanè The Created a valid point. If you are living for Jesus there is no nuance to parse

Ephesians 1:4-5 / AV

Im in agreement with you 100% although im not sure u grasp the full circumstances of Christ return
