The middle dust cap on my Type X came off, and the shorting ring fell out. Is there a specific way I need to attach this back or can I just glue it down?
@@MrM_Full-Send I’m not by it at the moment but theres a diagram on its user manual, for the X-W12D4, and the component is called the “copper shorting cap” on top of the voice coil. support.alpine-usa.com/products/documents/%20OM_X-W12D4+X-W10D4.pdf

I made this voice coil. You can get 2” alpine type r coils from Springfield speaker repair. Just make sure you get the right size for your sub they come in both 2 and 2.58
@@justingulick6747 sorry I also assumed you have a type r. You can also message me on my Instagram or email me if you want a quicker response. 2nd generation 10&12 type r had 2” coils and I believe 3rd generation and newer 12’s have 2.58… this only applies to type r
Hey man I'm just wanting to ask if you'd be willing to send me a link or info for the full recone kit. I Appreciate it 🤙 I subscribed to ur channel just now! 😎
I have a alpine type r 5th gen I need fixed. I can ship to you just need to know how much you would charge me. I would like to keep the original look if possible. I had the coil rub issue and a tinsel lead also broke.
@@MrM_Full-Send hi i have a type r 12 inch sub that i got with a sub i bought that is blown u can see the coils all twisted how much would u charge to repair a sub in this situation

How do you measure the motor height on these? Do I need to take off the lower screws?

Are the earlier models different than the newer black ones. The black ones are obvious to seat the coil. The older ones are more covered up.
@@SQ_og you have to measure the mounting flange and consider it in your depth calculation and coil height setting
@MrM_Full-Send hey How did you paint the e6000 on the spider?
Great job
