Sir I am a fresher at a product based IT company, my juniors are offered 25% more compensation than what I was offered for the same role via college hiring. I have completed 7 months in the organisation got a 4.5% appraisal which hardly makes a difference of 2k in my take home salary. My manager is asking me to be patient for 4-5 months after which he will promote me when I complete an year in the organisation and give me a hike beyond what my juniors are being offered. I am not sure what to do, should I switch or be patient for 4-5 months not sure if this is any kind of trick laid out by the management just to disappoint me again with a bad appraisal? Thanks in advance

you should be patient. This is not a trick. Companies based on the market increased fresher salary and it takes a year or two to correct internal employee salary. So be motivated at work, continue giving good performance
