They can make all the EVs they want. No one wants them. They can’t sell what they currently made. The car executives are starting to come out questioning going down this road. They can’t because they will go bankrupt.
A couple of facts you are ignoring- 1. If a business case can be made for a V8, it will be produced. Car companies are moving based on government requirements. These ignore what customers want. Companies work on profits and sales. If they can sell a V8, even with carbon credits required, they will do it. Carbon credits become just another overhead price- like electricity to run the plant. And 2. EV sales are going nowhere. All auto companies except Tesla are saying the same thing- no one is buying EV's. Ford, GM and Daimler were just in the news saying this. Toyota is refusing to put all their eggs in the EV bag because they have no faith in the EV idea. They are a business and want to sell cars. If no one wants their cars, no one buys them and Toyota goes belly up. The idea that the government mandates are going to define the future is absurd in a free market economy. It would be cool if Dodge makes another Hemi. With so many people still wanting V8's, I don't think a business case would be hard to make.
Oh- and I already know a couple of car factories that are starting to pivot to turn out more ICE cars due to non existent EV sales. The factories can't sit still waiting on customers.

@@mikedaleiden7725but in the 90's just having over 200hp was a big deal. Never understood why dodge didn’t create an all wheel drive viper with a red-eye engine to destroy the c8 and the ford gt. They clearly don’t understand their consumer base.
@@Retro89Dec I dont know either, would have been extremely scary to see a supercharger V10 viper ACR with a manual AWD system. I’m confident to say it would have 170 levels of power
@@Retro89DecSure they do. That’s why they didn’t build one. A Viper isn’t a Viper if it’s not V10-powered, or if it’s AWD, or if it doesn’t have a manual. A Viper is, was, and always will be, V10, manual, rear wheel drive. No one, NO ONE, has ever asked for an AWD V8 “Viper”
The electric Charger was a prototype, and the production versions are always different. It was clearly obvious that they could make an ICE powered Charger with the Hurricane. Germany is already walking back the 2030 EV goal, and since Germany makes the premier cars in Europe, the rest of the EU will follow. I have heard that Japan and China are working on ammonia powers ICE engines. Ammonia does not release carbon in the exhaust, but it does not burn as fast as gasoline. They have experimented with a blend of ammonia and gas and the exhaust was dramatically cleaner than straight gas
Why in the hell would they go backwards and make a engine even more terrible than the Hemi with these government complaints if anything they should go small block small turbos n/a electric motors that’s the only route I can see them surviving with a lighter chassis could use the bmw m series chassis that should carry them until this EV nonsense Carrie’s over and then we’re back to the big V8s
Oh yeah dont worry about range anxiety in your EV when you're stuck in your 15 minute city coz you wont have the carbon credits to leave. Enjoy the sci fi dystopia.
Dodge can build a V-8 that’s not a Hemi. Dodge has had very strong small block V-8’s in the pass. So while the Hemi is not a carb friendly engine, don’t believe dodge can’t build a V-8 to compete with the Coyote. It’s just if Dodge wants to play in that sand box.
It's all about total carbon credits. Ford had some hybrids and 4 cylinder engines that helped offset the larger V8 carbon outputs. FCA being now part of Stellantis gives FCA access to EV's and some viable 4 cylinder engines that FCA really never had or sold in decent numbers. Adding more EV models into FCA allows for some larger engines without having to pay another company like Testla for carbon credits.
There are articles published stating that the electrical grid can support the EV initiative. You can watch C-SPAN and see political yes men say, "We can support EV's". The truth is the engineers that nobody talks to say, "Where are we getting this power from?" "How do we deliver the mass amount of current to support this?" In reality, the power delivery infrastructure is not going to perform. The grid was designed for 1950's and 60's fossil fuels use. It isn't designed for an increase in current delivery or the 2 way current flow of green technology that feeds current back into the grid. Hopefully, someone has a few hundred fusion reactors up their ass. I'm just sad to see Dodge being forced down this path of cars you have to plug in or have an inline 6 because, honestly that new engine sounds like somebody farting in a garbage can.
You can’t really compare the European market to the US market. Makes zero sense for FCA to not offer V8 in the US market when both of their major competitors do. Also, if you do any research you will notice EV sales are not hitting target .
@@MisterMikeTexasbut the Hurricane may still not be enough for Stellantis to increase sales. the V8 love isn't dying at all. GM has a new V8 that is turbocharged for the 2025 Corvette ZR1 & Ford will put a more powerful 7.3L Godzilla V8 in the 2026 GT500
Auto makers should've known that and probably did but they were being forced and subsidized by the government. This is what happens when you get in bed with the government
Dodge was relevant again and became a staple of not just gearheads but our culture period. Had the SRT program w/ big powerful V8s including ridiculously powered suoercharged ones not have ever been done, would we even be here talking about them? Stellantis has probably crushed the brand, and anyone (on this channel at least) trying to say oh cool something new is just trying to avoid the truth. Nobody asked for a TT inline 6. Nobody asked for a EV. They were only relevant because we bought the cool ass cars they were producing that nobody else had the balls to make.

"Whether you like it or not, that's the truth." is not a good way for Dodge to sell cars. People will gravitate to the more compelling options, even if they have limited time to do so.
They need a new V8 doesn't have to be a HEMI,hell I love old Wedge Mopar Engines own several cars with them! New V8 from Dodge/RAM would be great!!! They pissed off a lot of loyal customers and those loyal customers tell others to buy Chrysler/Stellantis products.. Well,if RAM starts to tank in sales with no V8 the Europeans might get their stuck up noses out of their rectums!
We like the Hemi because it’s the furthest away from what they want because it’s the least compliant thus making the most power. Same reason the older hemis went away. The only thing they did was add new tech to it with vvt 2 spark plugs per cylinder then put a cat, mid muffler, and resonator per bank and then dumped gas guzzler tax on the customer to offset the difference until they ran out of epa token then bought Elon epa gas tokens. Now they can’t afford it and ran out this is why they sell race engines separately and race cars because the epa can’t Fk with them on a track atleast yet. But they got their hands in the aftermarket already trying to eliminate tuning. This is why they decided the whole world go ev so no tuning can happen and ultimate control over energy which In turn gives China an edge and more of a reason to start ww3 with Taiwan / surrounding Asian countries over the South China Sea for the minerals mining rights which kills the eco system starving them selves while screwing the air quality much more than ice because it’s accelerated. The reason is because they have to refine using fossil fuel. A semiconductor take an extreme amount of energy to heat it into sheets this is not clean energy used certainly not in China the people with the worst foot print yet no body cares what they do so long as we get something for it and can sell it. Effectively making a communist power king of the world thanks to the idea of green on the brink of ww3 trying to go ev 🤣 can’t make this shit up. Everything has a cause and effect with a hidden punch line.
It’s amazing how much has changed in two months. Now Ford, Chevy, Honda, Toyota, and VW are either entirely or for the most part ending EV as they can’t make money with them. They site increased maintenance cost, safety and public resistance to them. Also, the infrastructure is not there to charge these beasts. Also, in the last week we’ve heard over and over about the affect of cold weather on the charging impossibility at sub zero temps and the loss of one third of their range in cold weather. Even Teslas were lined up forming a parking lot due to the Tesla stations not charging their cars in Chicago due to the cold weather. Governments have forced auto makers into this technology. Insurance rates for them is going through the roof. Lithium batteries are a ticking bomb and many have burst into flames while charging, sitting static and in collisions. In everyday driving situations it is not unusual to bottom out a car on a curb or object in the road. This can compromise the battery enclosure causing insurance companies totaling the cars due to the extremely high cost of battery replacement, often in the range of $50,000. I would. It put my children in an EV now that news of fires that is getting out. Fires so hot that fire departments are forced to let them burn out because dousing them with water will not extinguish it. We have gotten way out ahead of the technology and lives are at stake.
If true , which i doubt , as a lifelong mechanic not just reciprocating but turbine engine , show me explain how a hemispherical combustion chamber creates so much more C02
I work for a CDJR dealership, and can assure you there's no customers "none" asking for anything electric. And the hibrids like anything 4xe just a few and after a few months they want to trade for gasoline power engines. Hopefully all the electric government pushing it's going to fail!
It seems like were losing any reasonable balance between government regulation and corporate ability to produce a product consumers desire. Here in California I have two proper running vehicles that are currently untagged (registration paid, but remains un-smogged) because I cannot get CARB compliant replacement catalytic converters. For one car, every dealership I called wants $6,000+ for the few remaining factory CARB compliant systems (dual cat system) they have in a warehouse in LA. I'm told the prices are so high because insurance companies are actually paying these big asking prices to replace stolen converters -which is rampant. So while a non-CARB compliant system would cost me $400-$700, a CARB legal system is 75% of the total value of the car. And it's nearly impossible to get a company to sell a non-CARB approved exhaust item into California. It's absolutely ridiculous. And if you're wondering, CARB stands for "California Air Resource Board" and they're far more strict that the Federal EPA.
Well F it then, bring the viper v10 back. It's already designed, therfore it literally would cost no r and d to bring back. Put a turbo on it or make it a hybrid for even more power with little cost in development.
Stellantis can enjoy the fruits of lower sales and profits that an all EV product portfolio will surely result in. The EV movement is built on lies and hysteria, and if anything I am seeing a loss of momentum in this "transition".
here is the reality...if you do research brake dust produces almost 3 xs more particulate pollution than carbon emissions...what vehicle isn't going to need brakes? EV puts so much strain on a failing electric grid to behind with and adds more non recyclable waste to landfills anyways. I'm proud of my 6.4L "1" smog rated hemi.

I’m 75 and drive the car I wanted since I was 16 - an S550 Mustang GT w/PP1. Will probably buy another 5.0 Mustang in the next couple of years. Looks like I’ll be fading away along with big American V8 🤠
That smog index is total bs. Even the Hemi runs EXTREMELY CLEAN. And they are more fuel efficient that the competitors. By the way the 6.4 gets the same MPG in a heavier car than the Mustang 5.0
I have 2 THEORIES though: 1ST Theory: It's indeed the last call for the "Hemi V8" but NOT a last call for a Mopar V8. Dodge might still developing a very secret V8 (maybe they aren't calling it "Hemi", probably bringing back the "Magnum" name) especially since Stellantis partnered with Aramco to create E-Fuels for it's 24 engines, plus GM will put a flat-plane V8 engine that is twin-turbocharged in the 2025 Corvette ZR1 (& there's gonna be a hybrid ZR1 in 2026 with around 1000 hp) and Ford will have the 2026 Shelby GT500 with rumors to have a more powerful 7.3L V8 (& there's also rumors of the 6.8L V8 for the Mustang) so Dodge should have this new V8 at least in 2026! 2ND Theory: It's indeed the last call but it's NOT worldwide especially since each country have different rules & standards for vehicles. ButterDaInsider even showed a twitter post from Dodge Middle East that says "the beast can only be a beast, and its roads have been EXTENDED because its power is merciless. While life is full of copycats, take your place well", so there's a real possibility that the merciless Hemi V8 would still exist beyond 2023 at least specifically in the Middle East (it's "100% renewable intensity" based on the post, so it may be a "new Hemi V8" or still the current-gen Hemi)! ... again, just my theories!
See the whole EV thing makes no sense cause half of us car guys only spend 100’s of thousands for the engine and if they go EV I don’t see a lot of people going top “engine” spec and if they do v6 or straight 6 then why would you buy a performance dodge you would go to the kings of straight 6 bmw or Nissan something in that neck of the woods I see a lot of American car companies going away from building performance cars cause of the lack of V8 once these new cars come out 6 cylinder or EV you can say bye bye to the Camaro mustang charger challenger etc. entirely as models
Also, these 3.0L hurricane engines are not more efficient at all. I drove a Wagoneer with it on a 200 mile trip each way, with some city driving in between and it got worse mileage than my 2011 5.7L Grand Cherokee. They lie about the MPG, it gets like 14-15 mpg at best and even worse if you're into the turbos.
The main problem is the government. The government needs to get the h**l out of regulating everything. The keep pushing EVs if that’s what you want go for it. A complete switch to EVs will never happen smaller engines will be the norm they are putting out way more horsepower and torque than they did just a few years ago. I remember the Buick grand national in the 80s awesome car it had the most horsepower of that time
Btw even if people had 2 or 3 times the msrp for demon 170 why would anyone want it for that, there's plenty of exotics in that price range waaay better ?
& I have a nephew working for Dodge, Jeep & he knows there are troubled waters coming down the pike, I for one, will result back to a horse & buggy before I get a EV shoved down my throat, it all has to do with politics, & who is invested with our enemy China!!! So many, many politicians on frankly both sides of the isle, have their hands in the cookie jar, but when the rubber hits the pavement, & sales go south, like we are currently witnessing, watch how quickly a 6 cylinder or maybe a redesigned 8 cylinder pops up!! Money talks, BS sits on the sales floor with no traffic to buy. The big question, are you really going to buy an EV, with a speaker exhaust system, LMAO, gonna be an interesting few years ahead, if we are still alive!!!
There is an ice motors going in the charger 😂. Spy photos already confirmed plus dodge said it was building it to work with both ice and electric. The new charger will have electric engine first followed by ice a year later.
I always said that they were going to do an ICE offereing .. I just didn't know which body. I have been right on 98% of what I have stated with all the offerings so that seems an odd statement. What would lead you to believe that I'm wrong? Why would they go through all the R+D to develop a brand new more efficient V8 when they have a 6 cylinder that makes more power, tows more, and is more efficient? So spend hundreds of millions for an engine that's effectively not as good. That would mean that they only have this engine available to FCA and Chrysler has already stated that they are putting it in the Pacifica. They cant put that engine in for European markets and it will have to go away soon after anyway due to the 2030 program. Just a few things to ponder.

With a 4,600lb boat (even heavier than the Roadmasters, Caprices, ImpSS, Crown Vic, Grand Marquis & Town Car) but 370-807 hp and 8 speed transmissions and 10 second times off the showroom floor would've been something from another planet! The old 4 speed slush boxes were a joke and manuals were the way to go. Not the case anymore
@@LSp8 Appreciate your thoughts. Not sure it if it was intended, but that supports my original point that we just need to give it time and keep an open mind. In another 20 years, we will have enthusiast options that make current cars seem archaic.
$30,000.00 BATTERY REPLACEMENT C9STS. And this is Current prices for a Chevy Volt. GREAT CHOICE
I honestly believe that for the last call time, they should have brought the viper back instead of another challenger.
@@Retro89Dec The C8 Zora would just mop that up, and Ford killed off the GT anyways lol
We need to abolish the EPA
Exactly
Epa laws and rules are unconstitutional
The electric Charger was a prototype, and the production versions are always different. It was clearly obvious that they could make an ICE powered Charger with the Hurricane.
Germany is already walking back the 2030 EV goal, and since Germany makes the premier cars in Europe, the rest of the EU will follow.
I have heard that Japan and China are working on ammonia powers ICE engines. Ammonia does not release carbon in the exhaust, but it does not burn as fast as gasoline. They have experimented with a blend of ammonia and gas and the exhaust was dramatically cleaner than straight gas
cleaner by what percent? is it cleaner (& cheaper) than Porsche's e-fuels??
Dodge should bring back the 440 and offer a N/A version and a supercharged Hellcat variant.
Yeah because if modern V8 can’t pass compliance and are costing Dodge billions that will fix the problem 😂
Motortrend Still Says There Will Be A New V-8
I can’t believe I never got my supercharged V10. Guess I’m going to have to man up and build it
More evidence that the EPA needs to be abolished

Oh yeah dont worry about range anxiety in your EV when you're stuck in your 15 minute city coz you wont have the carbon credits to leave. Enjoy the sci fi dystopia.
V8 > V6 and V8 > EV
I want them to make a 4 Liter twin turbo hurricane V8
it's gonna be a flat-plane crank though to make that possible...

Dodge can build a V-8 that’s not a Hemi. Dodge has had very strong small block V-8’s in the pass. So while the Hemi is not a carb friendly engine, don’t believe dodge can’t build a V-8 to compete with the Coyote. It’s just if Dodge wants to play in that sand box.

what would happen if companies did not pay EPA fines??
Not a damn thing. The scotus said over 2 years ago that the epa just can't make up laws.

@@darkSide_211cause that would make too much sense lol
Because they can ban sales of these cars if they don’t meet the guidelines of the country being sold in.
Racer X says the new Vette revs up to the moon! 😂😂😂
Mine does 😮
There are articles published stating that the electrical grid can support the EV initiative.
That smog index is absolute unscientific garbage 😅
Yep
Whether you like it or not, WE CANT SUPPORT THE DAMN ELECTRIC DEMAND. All they mean is that 50% of their cars will be expensive cars paper weights.
You can’t really compare the European market to the US market. Makes zero sense for FCA to not offer V8 in the US market when both of their major competitors do. Also, if you do any research you will notice EV sales are not hitting target .
This is true.. I was talking about the ICE offering they are planing .. ie the hurricane 🌀

"Whether you like it or not, that's the truth." is not a good way for Dodge to sell cars. People will gravitate to the more compelling options, even if they have limited time to do so.
@10:44 @ButterDaInsider 🤣🤣👍👍
Everything has a cause and effect with a hidden punch line.
yeah it would be nice if the Magnum V8s returned
Just hoping for a more efficient V8..

No v8 option will be the death of the american brands of stellantis. It's just that simple. We've seen this turbo movie before and it's not pretty.
Racer x great video 😊. However I believe you have a small typo. The Maserati MC 20 is not hybrid

6.4L with a smog rating of 1???? My 2015 Scat shows a smog rating of 5 so not sure where you are getting the 6.4L is a 1 but not mine.
Well F it then, bring the viper v10 back. It's already designed, therfore it literally would cost no r and d to bring back. Put a turbo on it or make it a hybrid for even more power with little cost in development.
Put in a turbo.
Blow the clean charged air right back into the exhaust.
Stellantis can enjoy the fruits of lower sales and profits that an all EV product portfolio will surely result in. The EV movement is built on lies and hysteria, and if anything I am seeing a loss of momentum in this "transition".
I hope the Stellantis Plan fails, I’m so sick of them pushing the E.V crap when it’s literally helping the environment less than EV’s in the long run
here is the reality...if you do research brake dust produces almost 3 xs more particulate pollution than carbon emissions...what vehicle isn't going to need brakes? EV puts so much strain on a failing electric grid to behind with and adds more non recyclable waste to landfills anyways. I'm proud of my 6.4L "1" smog rated hemi.
Insurance companies will kill the EV..
You may be right...but "Never say never."
Dodge may put an aluminum block Hemi V8 ONLY in the next Hybrid Demon.

Personally from what I see from this company Dodge/Stellantis , they are going to lose millions and millions of dollars ,because rather then build all them Race engines ,that are not Street Legal , they could have us that same money that develop the Hurricane 6cyi engine, they could have built a brand new street legal V8 engine that is more efficient and Cleaner as well , to be able to meet the EPA requirements and Cafe Standards !!! That smog index is total bs. Even the Hemi runs EXTREMELY CLEAN. And they are more fuel efficient that the competitors.
By the way the 6.4 gets the same MPG in a heavier car than the Mustang 5.0
Dodge has lied about everything else. Why wouldn't they lie about a new Hemi? Maybe to keep price gouging.
I have 2 THEORIES though:
1ST Theory: It's indeed the last call for the "Hemi V8" but NOT a last call for a Mopar V8.
I remember the Buick grand national in the 80s awesome car it had the most horsepower of that time
Btw even if people had 2 or 3 times the msrp for demon 170 why would anyone want it for that, there's plenty of exotics in that price range waaay better ?
ck e bay motors auctions to see what they sold for , lot of D170s didnt sale and relisted 2 -3 times
i have never seen a charger with a post i think its a challenger?the charger will be postless thats just me talking.
One can only hope... After all they've built their brand on American muscle.

We’re getting a wedge engine not a hemi engine
Do modern day Dodge engines have true hemi combustion chambers?
No ford? I'm very curious about tha😢
RacerX you've been wrong on few things like an ICE engine going in the new Charger and i think you're wrong on this.
@@RacerX9 Did you hear about the new kit from ford they are offering on the new mustang gt? Its a supercharger kit. Get this. Factory warranty installed by factory techs. Takes the motor from 480 hp to 800 hp with basically just a larger fuel pump.

Why does Dodge not make a smaller V8 with a turbo plus electric motor option for AWD? 318 with single or twin turbos. I just subscribed to your channel.
The only place they could possibly put a new v-8 and it have any chance of being worth it would be in a truck. It makes absolutely no sense for them to build one for a car.
