Two sub appearances this week he came on when team was losing and went on to win. Him giving width in final third helping Amad to drift more centrally. As a neutral I felt United were better side pre City goal and from about 40th minute. People saying it was poor game it wasn't, united defensivley were immaculate bar 1 corner. Compact, good pressing at right times and high pressing too, didn't park the bus. 2nd half created as well. People rightly mentioning Maguire, Ugarte, Amad etc but Martinez was excellent and looked really good pressing into midfield and breaking lines with passing. Plus I thought Hoijland put a great shift in. Was really good on the ball 2nd half also. Once you get a legit LWB and probably a pacy inside forward to play behind Hoijland I think you will see Amorim tactics click in attacking areas. Obviously MUST sort out corners but bar that I think the composure, passing, control, shape, rotations are all decent and there to see under amorim. Basically I'm saying I don't think your as far off as People think. Add someone like Alphonso Davies on left and one out and out pacy inside forward you will cook. Unless Garnacho gets his head down he MAY be that guy if he's been humbled a little by dropped, hopefully he has the correct reaction. In a new system where you suddenly have two many wingers and no wingbacks you need to be able to try players in multiple different positions Don't forget some of these players may be sold or loaned next month, he needs time to get them fit, play them and assess them to see if he can keep them or replace them. He hasn't even had time to look at any Academy players properly yet.

Sorry Jay but i can't support the squad despite the result! Frankly if Rashford couldn't get motivated for a derby then that would say he has to go but now we will never know either way! I also dont like the constant changes even after a positive result
I think its Amorims way to get the whole squad fit and keep them all involved, ETH would play the same players every week, garna and kobbie, and they burn put and risk injury.
It would be good to find the 1st 11 tho like you say and keep the rhythm of them playing together week in week out
@clarewhitmore9252 I get rotation is needed, especially this time of year but when 6 changes are made on the back of a victory that's a bit much
He's had no pre season preparation...THIS is it...we've still got two chances of qualifying for the Champions League and are in both domestic competitions. In a new system where you suddenly have two many wingers and no wingbacks you need to be able to try players in multiple different positions
Don't forget some of these players may be sold or loaned next month, he needs time to get them fit, play them and assess them to see if he can keep them or replace them. He hasn't even had time to look at any Academy players properly yet.
@andrew13yt and in the meantime we lose games we might have won? The simple fact of it is that it's not preseason, maybe sending players to play with the u21s would be a better way to bring their fitness up
