  • I'm trying a few ramen bowls at Shinjitsu Ramen, a lesser-known ramen shop in Singapore. The basic tonkotsu ramen only costs $6.90, but how good can it be? I am from Japan and always thought ramens are super expensive in this country - so I'm excited to find out.

I've been to Taiwan eating local cooked Japanese Ramen, they cooked very authentic Tonkatsu ramen very closed to Japan taste , is cheap and worth the price, the way they cooked the stock base is totally different of what the kopitiam do, they used big pressure cooker to cook a distinct flavor of a tonkatsu stock not just by boiling is not enough as what u shown us in the kitchen, and a lot lot of Pork Bone, but because of expensive food cost is really very difficult for hawker to cook a rich stock with a cheap price. But is at least better than Ajisan Ramen, if want to eat authentic ramen is better to eat at restaurant…😁

Restaurant prices for ramen is over priced and they make u pay for every basic ingredient as a top-up

Suggest changing the title as this is not a hawker place :D A lot of foreigners always mixed up or put kopitiam food in the same bracket as hawker food.
As you mentioned the place is big, as it's not a hawker stall. Their rental is more expensive as well since Kopitiams are usually privately owned.

I was there in 4wks ago, tried the tonkatsu ramen, I was really disappointed as it is really bland, the noodle don't taste like regular ramen as well. I hope there are more of this ramen stall to be seen in neighbourhood coffee shop so I don't comment much if it taste ok. But for this experiance, I really don't it, its really bad, I'm sorry. Maybe it was just that day.

Can't agree more with your comment , because I've been to Taiwan eating local cooked Ramen, they cooked very authentic Tonkatsu ramen very closed to Japan taste , is cheap and worth the price, the way the stock base is totally different of what the kopitiam do, they need to use pressure cooker to cook a distinct flavor of a tonkatsu stock not just by boiling is not enough, and a lot lot of Pork Bone, but because of expensive food cost is really very difficult for hawker to cook a rich stock with a cheap price. So is at least better than Ajisan Ramen.
