Spelling wasn't taken as seriously back then as it is now. That's why a lot of immigrants names changed when they came over to America... simple misspelling. So from a historical stand point, this is still accurate.

Actually Black Butler isn't set in early 1800s, but at the end of it in the 1880s. Marrying the first cousin was not made illegal until around 1895. Ciel himself was born in 1875.
well 1875 + 12 = 82 + 6 (till hes 18) = 88
and that would mean its still allowed
Plus the Jack the Ripper case happened in 1888.
And the story takes place in 1888-1889 (currently)

@@AlizerLeHaxor Not surprising. ther has been elements of the story being anachronistic since the beginning. Remember the manga even had a car and phone in the first few issues. And they looked more modern (well as 'modern' as a landline phone can look in the age of cellphones lol) Also, when Prince Soma first came to the Phantomhive home, he asked about "small people in a box"... a TV. WE don't see it, but its certain they had a TV.
Actually I noticed Sebastian's likeness to Ciel's father in the very first episode. When they showed the portrait and I saw Ciel's father I immediately thought "Wait isn't that Sebastian?"

Sebastian claimed to have started the Black Plague, which started about 1347, which is well before 1875. So he couldn’t be his father... unless... 🤔🤔🤔

No talk about "Ciel's Twin?" In both the manga and the anime, when Ciel makes his contract with Sebastian, Ciel is shown reaching through the bars of a cage. However, we've also frequently seen, especially in the manga (you included a page at 1:08), he is shown murdered on the table. These two contradictory images make perfect sense when you take into account a habit old victorian nobles used to have. If a child was born with a twin, the first one out would be raised as heir and presented publicly, while the younger twin was kept secret. This was to ensure the continuation of the family line in case the heir was killed or kidnapped (which, as black butler has shown us, happens every other week to young nobels). You mentioned that you noticed the show/comic is very accurate with it's representation of victorian england, and you'd be right, the author is notorious for their attempts at authenticity. Would it be outrageous to suggest that she was aware of this practice? In fact, aside from the discrepancy in Ciel's location, there are other things that would support the idea that Ciel did have a twin. Mainly, the notorious personality "change" the Earl went through after his ordeal. It is mentioned over and over again how Ciel went from "bubbly and smiling" to "straight faced and serious," and we are meant to assume that is a result of trauma. But taking into account how twins are often portrayed in many stories (older outgoing "A type" twin and younger, reserved "B type" twin), this change might actually make more sense. After all, while "losing his smile" is very poetic, what are the odds someone so cheerful and sociable would turn into a person so drastically different even after going that level of trauma? Assuming that the "real" Ciel (the one shown in flashbacks), was actually murdered on that fateful night and had a brother who took his place, it would explain the unease and uncertainty Ciel frequently faces when dealing with Elizabeth and otherwise taking over aspects of a life that hadn't been his until recently (such as difficulty dancing, unwillingness to be tutored, and the occasional slip into poor manners). Also, in the manga, during flashbacks to the night Ciel forms a contract with Sebastian, the character uses a word that means "they" to refer to the struggle he faces in captivity. In the recent Werewolf arc, he is poisoned and has a flashback. In this flashback he is seen holding hands with another child, and seeing that child murdered on the table. The emotional reaction to this sight is what drives him to call out to Sebastian in the first place. He then dreams of talking to "another Ciel." If it is true that Ciel is actually a secret twin, then that would mean he isn't really "Ciel" at all. He must have been born with a different name. Now think, have you ever actually heard Sebastian refer to Ciel by his first name? While a butler usually is supposed to only refer to his master by title, it is a clever way to hide the fact that the person Sebastian knows as "young master" isn't actually named "Ciel." Even while undercover, he calls he never calls him by Ciel. I personally don't have any doubts that this "Ciel isn't actually Ciel" twist will be pulled on us before the end of the series (and by the rate it's going, that won't be for a while lol), but taking all this into account I think it's a really fascinating topic that might serve SimplyGrouch better then "Hey did you notice sometimes the animators made a mistake."
It has been confirmed that Ciel is the younger twin. His older brother was "sacrificed" in the alter and Ciel took his name. Though i dont know the details I seen a video on it. It is in the manga.

Don't people remember that Sebastian claimed to have caused the Black Death (Plague) somewhere in season 1? He couldn't just 'become' Ciel's father after causing mass destruction centuries before the current Kuroshitsuji setting...
Same thing I was thinking.
In season two he also claimed to know the pharaoh that was supposedly being transported on the train who reigned over 3000 years ago, if anything the theory about Vincent being related to the reapers has more potential even if it's just a theory, especially with they way Undertaker mentions him.
Yeah that's right, also in one of the recent chapters in the manga he also talks about how he's seen many religions fall across the time between rebellious acts, so he can't possibly be Ciel's father

@@sky.sy. That depends since it was mentioned in anime, not manga. You have to be careful about what they present in episodes that were made when the manga is still on-going and people have to come up with some content for ending of a series.

I'm pretty sure the 'Pantomhive' was meant to be a pun, a pantomime is like a small play aimed at children that is usually quite funny and involves slam-stick humour. By using 'Pantomhive' as his surname they made a reference to the fact that Ciel always pretends to act proper and charming in front of others as a proper lord/earl when it is all just a facade to the horrific life that he has lived, which is very difficult to do as a child.

i watched the movie, black butler. does they have the part two or i must watch the anime? and from which episode should i watch the anime or begin from the first? how many seasons are there or episodes? somebody help me @Kevin Quach

First things first, if you're talking about the Live action then ok (but it's a totally different story).
If you want to watch the anime you really should start from de first episode. The number of episodes and etc you can see before downloanding it or whatever.
Almost half of season 1 is FILLER and season 2 is pure filler. So, if you don't like watching filler, just don't.
When people ask me if Kuroshitsuji is good I just say "go read the manga"
The only season that I really liked is the 3°, that cover the arc of "noah's Circus"

For fact 2, there were many sacrifices before Ciel as this was a cult that probably had multiple meetings. Baron Kelvin probably attended a couple before his super extensive surgeries, or one of his friends told him about the events previous to Ciel's; therefore, he would be able to produce an exact replica.

SimplyGrouch I really think you should do a video for Black Butler about how accurate it is to actual events that occurred. I would watch it and find it awesome.
My favorite theory of all time is the resemblance between Sebastian and Vincent. The English voice actor of Sebastian, J. Michael Tatum, actually talks about this in one of the anime's commentaries.
His theory is that Sebastian is a reflection of Ceil's subconscious and that he had to portray himself as an image that Ciel would respond to with instant gratification. Thus, Ciel's father.
Naturally, Ciel still knows that Sebastian is indeed a terrifying demon beneath but the fact that he looks so much like Vincent Phantomive has me greatly intrigued!

1:40 (ish) when you introduced Claude and Sebastian, you said that Sebastian’s form is a Raven, and later you said that it was a crow (2:03 ish).
Took me 2 years, but I got it.
A random little thing I find interesting is that Sebastian is most likely left handed (just from watching how he does things) and at this time (Victorian england) if you were left handed you were considered along the lines of a witch, demon, or devil worshipper
On the one with the end of the circus ark, I see where you got confused thinking he couldn't of repeated the design, when he is told he cannot see the young Earl, he distinctly says "You can't go this time!".
Insinuating he has been down there before, so he would know the design of the area the young lord was... assaulted.
Number 2 he was there before they got Ciel and new what it looked like in the past that's how he replicated it

in black butler Ciel has a twin because he would have not lived from the sacrificial offering and when he first met Sabastien he was in a cage and they shook hands he was not on the table and he also would have a scar from where he was stabbed so that is what happened to his twin brother.
It's just a theory though, but I support it for the huge amount of hints that point for it to be true

well the two ciel, or double-ciel-theory is were there are two ciels the Real!Ciel and the Shy!Ciel. Sebastian made a contract with the Shy!Ciel. he knows this and thus Sebastian doesnt really care cause he is a savage. but in the manga you can see a page were the Ciel we see is in the cage and to the left of him there is a Ciel on the table bloody, the CIel in the cage is screaming and in pain (talking in 3rd person) and reaching out to the ciel on the table. Sebatian then appears and goes to the ciel in the cage. after this altercation they go outside and Sebastian asked him what his "name" was after a pause ciel says his name IS 'Ciel Phantomhive' and Sebastian then laughs at this remark. 'why are you laughing?' is what "Ciel" asks and Sebastians reply is " you told me never to lie, but you seem to be a lier yourself." funny how this happens. more evidence is Lizzy, in one thing lizzy is seen with the real!ciel sitting across the table from her, and then another ciel sitting away from her on the floor, another one of lizzys memories, that when "Ciel" comes back he is 'shorter' and 'thinner' and thus the real!ciel was healthier an was a bit taller then then his brother (the ciel we see). but the big key factor is Ciel himself. his flash backs tell on himself who he really is, during a sence of his flash back he is in the cage with someone and they hold his hand tell him he will be there for him tht person is then snatched away but we get to see the person who is being pulled away which is the Real!Ciel he is then stabbed on the table and then ciel meets seb, another is Ciel being scared in the green witch arch were he then wakes up being scared of adults and clings to finny like a child, ciel then calls "himself" in third person yelling and calling for him using broken english as is yellling "Ciel he is- and Ciel i need-" He then uses another making of him talking to sebastian when sebastian finds a recipe used by vincent and the Real!ciel when they were cooking, the Real!Ciel is cooking while the Shy!Ciel is inthe living room playing with his toys which can be used by 2 people or more such as cards and puzzle games. as the real!ciel is cooking with his father the shy!ciel beings to cough because he is the sick one of course. the sick on wouldnt not have been able to even BE IN THE KITCHEN with his FATHER, but that doesnt mean he didnt hear or see them in there. the ciel we see tells sebastian "yes that is a meal he SAW one of his parents making" no that he HELPED make with his father. oddly weird to add that. evidence to add to this is that the Real!Ciel then ask his father what a fag is (basiclly someone who does stuff for the rich at a public school and growing up in life like a fake brother) such as Vincent Phantomhive and the dude that was in the chair with him forgot his name lol. but like that and vincent tells him what a fag and the Real!Ciel then says "i dont need fake brothers" because he has a real one lol

I also noticed while re-watching the series, that the weird eye we see in the opening for season one was foreshadowing Ciel's demon form that came up later in the series. It really threw me in for a loop, because I remember thinking it was weird, and that the opening just had no correlation to the anime itself. (I'm pretty sure I screamed)
