No song has ever has this combination of sounds. So innovative. We all loved it way back when.
Brought back great memories of listening to this on the radio back in the 70s. What a badass song. Love it. 😎☮️
I used to think this was Rod Stewart, until I saw a TH-cam video of them doing this live.
Same here. 😝
The original was by Hot Chocolate a British band & has a verse from the girls family’s perspective. It’s musically a bit different too. Not well known in the States, The Stories version was a huge hit here.
Yes - I always knew it by the Stories, and at some point heard it by Hot Chocolate.. not realizing it was originally them.. still like the Stories version best..
OMG - one of my favorite songs.. !!! check out those LYRICS... Thanks so much! (also done by "Hot Chocolate")..
Love this, brings back fond memories!
Do you ever listen to Dr. Hook? Sharing the Night Together, A Little Bit More, Sylvia’s Mother……to name a few.
Your bideo gave me a new appreciation for this song musically. I have heard in on the radio for nearly 50 years, so the music took a back seat to the lyrics.
This song brings back memories when I was just a preteen kid hanging out at the bowling alley and playing this on the jukebox.
Great choice , you would also enjoy listening to Eric Burton & the Animals sing When I was Young.
A huge hit from the 70s.
I just checked out your channel you finally have all the songs I love thank you so much you're awesome shadow
You're going to enjoy this one Ace,, Diana Ross "Love Hangover"❤...Nuff Said.
Great song from late summer 1973.
Great show😊
Hey Ace, really great to SEE you enjoy so much of my generation's great musical variety of rock classics! Here is another one that got a lot radio play back in the day. The name of the song I want to recommend to you is, Poor Boy, by the band Chicken Shack, from the 1972 studio album Imagination Lady. To be fair, the last line of lyric might be controversial.....but the music....
Please react to Bee Gees younger brother Andy Gibb on the Midnight Special singing, I Just Wanna Be Your Everything.
Rock And Roll Heaven by Righteous Brothers.
I'd Melt With You by Modern English.
High On You by Survivor.
3AM by Matchbox Twenty.
When this came out Black and white marriages had just become legal. My father felt the same as Louie's parents did until the late 80's. sadly today people get the same grief from both sides.
Love this song. I still have the 45rpm I got when it was a hit
Sweet!!
Pretty sure they're a one-hit wonder. I don't know of any other songs by them.
I enjoy when you stick to audio versions. I don’t mean that as any kind of a put down to video versions, and/or reactions to video versions, it’s just that the audio version allows you to actually hear the music rather than be distracted by the visual. And isn’t that what music really Is all about, the audio?
Except for them live performances that never will happen again where the time and era by look and showing talent of playing instruments just cannot come thru in merely a audio. A variety of videos, live TV or venue performances reacted to
is still just fine. I myself once never saw the older performances which you missed the TV show you were outa luck. Some before official videos now have become even more special by their LIVE or just voiced over live ones where we see them in their prime and era to me INCREASES the value of the song.
Extended versions from albums of course are exceptions. There are those reactors who deeply analyze the voices etc. being declared professional singers themselves but stop songs so often that too me is annoying.
Ace -- PLEASE listen to the original of this. By an English band of black and white guys named Hot Chocolate. I think it's better! You will find it fascinating.
Gotta here Hot Chocolate version
Both are awesome
Normal 70s music
white brother loving black sister ! black women are the best !
Naw
These days too many are toxic
Did I hear you say your dog farted

From a time that interracial relationships were still pretty taboo.
