I get its not on the menu but that guy taking the order sounds like a real jerk with the way he's talking to them.
As someone who actually works at a CFA, his tone was horrible but the way he dealt with it was pretty average. It really depends on the employee and how anal you want to be about it. The kitchen cannot (sometimes will not) bag an item request like that. And it's especially taxing when something as bizarre as that comes in the drive-thru. It holds the line up and backs up service for 1 person that decided to come in and be 'haha' about their order. All-in-all, it's a mix of both employee and guest responsibility to know what you're doing.
In a customer service industry it’s best not to dismiss a customer like that, instead of taking that into your own hands it’s best to just involve your supervisor because 9 times out of 10 your management will make it work

honestly i would react the same way he did, aside from calling it not a sandwich (the double down totally counts as a sandwich.) But then again, I'm not polite enough to work at Chick Fil A

Condescending remarks about what I do and do not understand about the fast food industry aside , you completely missed the point of my comment. What you stated, albeit obvious, is completely irrelevant to the fact that every cashier and associate I have ever encountered at Chik Fil-A has been nothing but polite, even if they could not accommodate a request.
Now, to address the rest of that, I'm not sure what vast experience in the fast food industry you're drawing from, but every chain out there generally has a few unlisted items that they can prepare for you if they choose to. I bet there's a McDonalds close to you right now that knows exactly what a "McGangBang" is, and knows to ring up a Double Cheeseburger and McChicken to charge you accordingly for it as well as exactly how to audible the line for it...or a "bucket o' fries", or a "bucket o' nuggets". Just don't ever order a shake.
One thing is certain: You are sorry. Have fun spewing that passive aggressive bullshit on someone else though.

there are a lot of unhelpful people working in fast food these days. they dont want to do more than they have to. These days the customer is never right.

Are you kidding?? Imagine being the order taker for these people. I bet they make funny content, but I work at chick fil a and we literally can’t do that. All locations have different owners and we have limits. He was just doing his job. Consider this, he’s not the one in the kitchen. It wouldn’t have been a big deal for him to just “type in” the magic keyboard what they wanted. So why didnt he? Just to be a jerk? NO. Because maybe he literally couldn’t. Chick fil a takes ALOT of crap from people , a lot of manipulation from customers because they know how nice and easy we are. So please, stop with the petty comments and come work at chick fil a for a day.

How is it that none of the fast food places where y'all are know anything about any secret menu items?
I've noticed that a lot of them except McDonalds won't know unless it's a local item. Every McDonalds we've gone through anywhere (generally at night, FWIW) knows exactly what a "McGangBang and a bucket of fries" (or a bucket of nuggets) is.

*now THIS one i can get into. i did the TRex from Wendy's and that thing made me genuinely sick. ate the meat mountain from Arby's, it was dry as hell but i finished it. ate the "suicide whopper" from burger king FINISHED no problem also ate the wendy's cube no issues whatsoever. this one i am not so sure i could finish but hands down if i ever had to eat that Trex again i would get sick AF. I just BARELY kept it down when i ate it*

+Garren McCall - that's what almost all the employees say at all places that have a secret menu because either a) they're unaware, or b) they're too lazy to make something different. Google 'Chick Fil A secret menu' and you'll find many references to it.
