Having been a host family for a Chinese Family that were College students. They fixed several Chinese meal for my family. And one thing I can say for sure they love their spices and the hotter the better. One of my favorites were the steamed dumplings with a soy pepper mixture dipping sauce. So I can say that Youn's are braver than I would be, knowing how much heat they use. So to see it not so is surprisingly good.
I hear Spanish MREs are amazing. There's also an Italian MRE that comes with a shot of cordial, but it's really hard to get, since everyone that knows about it grabs it as soon as they find one.
