That may have been the worst AW performance ive seen in years. Completely asleep, no one pressing, we looked like we had lost before we even kicked the ball. WTF is going on. I know we dont nail opponents but this was next level rubbish
I think they wasted a man by playing Woods in these types of games. He’s an opportunist, sniffing around the box. That was never going to happen in this match, so should have Elijah Just instead who I think has come in leaps and bounds and seem to change the attack when he did come on. KB should not start in my opinion, good for the Phoenix but not at this level. But it’s only my simpleton thoughts.
@@christoki1362 Yeah. It's a 'nice-to-have'. Still, Australia got in. And Kazakhstan went from Asia to Europe. Surely the proposition is no more far-fetched than that.

How to transform a team by Ange Postecoglou: What I've learnt from the great man. 1) Throw out the old - unless a superstar eg Tim Cahill or Shane Smeltz. 2) Bring in young to create Competition for places ! 3) Training must have as much ball at the feet as possible. 4) Short, sharp training - not longer sessions.... just shorter Intense sessions ! 5) Always looking for your options before you get the ball obviously and just 1 or 2 Touches forward as much as possible ! 6) Play out from the back, even though it's risky, but try to play forward asap. 7) Never ever play a game to wind down the clock - even when winning by 1 with 10 to spare - playing hard improves your fitness (leg & lung muscles) for the season ahead - all 90+ mins. 8.) Practice penalties - Socceroos never missed 1 penalty for 5 years under Ange - Jedinak and others had it perfected. 9) Corners - Flat, Hard, just to top of the box enough to be away from keeper but no more. 10) Every shot at goal must have 3/4 other players running in EXPECTING rebounds, or mistake from goalie, defenders. 11) Sports Scientists hired. 12) Every player must be passionate to play - late for training - benched. Discipline. 13) SELF BELIEF and PASSION - the 2 core elements of Ange & in the players he signs up ! 14) Free kicks, Corners, Kick offs, re-starts, throw ins, all done ASAP - tire the opposition. You'll be tired too, but play that way all the time and you'll get used to it ! 15) For every freeze frame of a game or every moment, there's a Mathematical / Geometrically perfect spot to be in attack and defence - learn what that is. 16) Always be learning from others videos and be humble, but have self belief that you are the BEST COACH OR PLAYER IN THE WORLD. Ange watches 40 games per week - more than any human on the planet !
Oh and every pass hard and along the ground where possible. Anyway that's just some things I've learnt from Ange as a starting point - I love NZ, but I live in Sydney.
See the kick off ? Ange would attack from the start - to SCARE the opposition and push them back ! Ok first pass back, but the SECOND PASS Should have been a long ball Forward to the wings running Forward ! It would also be an easier pass to do - rather than to the winger who is running back towards his OWN goal. It shows to Mexico that you mean business and to attack them ! Play as if you believe you are Real Madrid or World Champions ! Many Socceroos goals were scored within 50 seconds of kick off under Ange !
@@ricky5538 Who’s “Ange”? Are you talking about that Aussie guy coaching Tottenham Hotspur? If you are: 1) I fail to see why he’s relevant to mention when he has nothing to do with this game nor either team and 2) He isn’t exactly a manager anyone should emulate. Tottenham ended with another disappointing season in 2023-24 winning nothing, and this season is looking worse. He is a very good organiser of attacking football but unfortunately his defending is subpar, and defending is much more important, and I won’t be the least bit surprised if he loses his job
NZ Can improve Dramatically fast - with the right coaching ! First thing that every coach & player should do is study Postecoglou's Celtic training sessions and games ! At the very least, defences have to be in a Straight Line of 4 (no more) and Evenly Spaced and facing Side on towards the ball, but aware of what's behind them. Only running back the second the through ball is kicked. In attack - every shot at goal Postecoglou has told his teams to have 3 or 4 guys running onto the goalie for possible rebounds. Study from the best coach - Ange.

Like to see NZ join AFC, with more regular competitive WC qualifying group games and play in the Asian Cup.
ABSOLUTELY.
I'd like to see the Oceanic zone as an AFC sub-group.
