- I get sent a lot of songs to listen to by my boss. This video is really just so he can see my reaction. If you happened to stumble across it though, thank you! Even if you hate it.
If you did enjoy it and want to see more reactions to things, please like the video and let me know.
Thanks!
One of the most underrated groups of their time
Even being abhorrently underrated, they were still extremely influential in what became heavy metal.
The mix of Byron, Thain, Box, Hensley, and Kerslake is and unmatched force in hard rock/early heavy metal imo. Even sabbath, and purple cant hold a candle to them
Hi. Thanks for the reaction. I'm always surprised when folks have never heard of Uriah Heep. As a young person in the 60s and 70s, they were one of my favorite rock bands. Still are. I would direct you to what I believe are their two best records: Look at Yourself and Demons & Wizards, the latter of which I believe to be Heep's masterpiece, as well as one of the most brilliant albums ever. Cheers.
the title track 'Salisbury' was their masterpiece !
Uriah Heep was a great band. All part of a great era!
Although I played drums for a few bands, Uriah Heep gave me a good appreciation of what an excellent keyboard player could bring to the band table.
When this song came out it was banned in America because of the line "Done the ranchers daughter." I love this band .
I listened to it on the radio all the time when I was a teen-ager.
@@Laura_Martin42Same here! 🤔
Cool to see your reaction to UH. They were quite big in the seventies, and they have lots of good stuff from their early seventies albums. Heavy and progressive, with vocal harmonis better than most. As a Uriah Heep fan I'd recommend a song with the most over the top crazy organ playing I've ever heard(and a good build-up). You should listen to the song "Gypsy"
The best laugh in Metal Rock.
The song Pilgrim from this album is an epic masterpiece.
Totally agree great unique track
Aaron-I saw Uriah Heep live several times in the 1970s. and they always impressed me(in general) as a better live band than studio band. "Stealin'" was the exception to that rule. Stealin was easily their most accessible and Top 40-friendly tune, and 16-year old me loved it when it was released in 1973.(still do) Fun fact: It's widely accepted that Uriah Heep was one of the inspirations for the legendary band "Spinal Tap." The Heep dabbled in obscure quasi-religious references and heavy guitar riffs, as well as perpetually seeming to be a step or two away from being a headliner.
Lots of great songs... scratch that, great albums. Uriah Heep is the band that Deep Purple strove to be
Heep fan since 1970. The great thing is, they're still rockin'!
(USA)
as @rickmts says, one of the most underrated groups of all time. David Byron was one of the greatest Rock vocalists of all time and influenced Freddie Mercury of Queen.
Got to see them in concert in 1974 (?). my hearing is still recovering. haha One of my favorite bands.
URIAH HEEP British LEGENDS with the great David Byron on vocals since 1969.
The HEEP are still going now.
The singer now has been there since the 80's (as has the keyboard man ) and is the best since Byron and perfect for Heep .
I am fan of Dire straits but like Uriah Heep. Sunrise is great song, Traveller in Time, Salisbury, July morning. Btw can you tell more on Dire straits Telegraph road from Alchemy live?
Should have been as big as any in their day! Great band up to 1976 until they licked out the singer and they were never quite the same again. Still had their moments but not what they had been. They are still around and would definitely go see them if in my town.
You should listen to their song "Salisbury" it's quite a composition and features a 24 piece orchestra behind the band. I guarantee you've never heard anything like it!
I always loved this one!
One of my favorite bands
I used to think they said "Stealin when I shoulda been lyin", which would've made it more "psychopathic Wild West". I've never gotten used to the tamer, "buyin".
If you want your boss to send you some mischievous weird music (for bears to ride bicycles to, sometimes), then get him to send you something by *Cardiacs* . Maybe the lyrics video to *Buds and Spawn* (because you're not going to hear the message without it). th-cam.com/video/N468bj9-FUQ/w-d-xo.html
OK, there's no message I can properly discern. Why does there always have to be a message? Can't the music be its own reason for listening?
Just bought tickets to go see uriah heep in may I'm excited
Oh cool. Didn’t realize they were still touring.
@@aaronjoelmusic only the guitar player remains but it should be a Steller show thanks
@@farmworkMi Awesome. Excited for you!
Still together still relevant The guitarist is the founder and two other members have over 30 years tenure. Better than ever .Gona see them in Houston and San Antone in May .
Great band. Great reaction. It would be great if you could do more reactions on this channel. Greetings from Sydney.
Thanks. That’s the plan!
Your Boss has some 'Damn Good' Taste!! You should listen to(o) Him, more...
Your boss has good taste in music.
I hope he doesn’t read this and an even bigger head lol! Seriously thanks for the comment tho.
fantastic song great video
Thanks!
@@aaronjoelmusic no problem keep it up subscribed yesterday ☺
I like your boss
Me too. Probably more than you.
what kinds of music recommendations would you like? genres? videos or just audio? odd time signatures? mashups? acapella? music reactions is actually one of my favorite categories right now. Especially with a bit of analysis - just like you did!
Anything that I haven't heard before.
Listen to Tears In My Eyes and Look At Yourself by these guys. They were huge in the '70s. Mick Box the lead guitar player is the sole remaining member still living. The band still records and tours.
Who is this fool this band had more talent than you will ever know
Weirdly aggressive but okay. I agree they are really good.
If you really want your mind blown listen to Shadows of Grief. Just... do it. You won't regret it.
It's actually a shuffle.
