Damn! I'm glad my record is intact! Heep was one of the loudest live concert bands of the day. A wall of sound. Try Easy Livin, The Wizard. I'll be back to keep my record going
I’ve been waiting for someone to play and react to this song by Uriah Heap!! It reminds me of partying up the canyon and this song or “The Wizard, Easy Livin” would be blaring into the night!! Good times! Great music! Thank you ✌🏻
Saw this performed in Phoenix in 70 and that Hammond B3 organ brought the house down man. They don't refer to this as classic rock for a reason. Thanks for the play man.
I'm 62 yes. Old....to hear this live was just like you can't even image.....we saw 3 bands on floor seat for 10.00.....one as good as the next......it was just the best....so happy you are show casing....and enlightening a younger generation..... WELL TO CHURCH OF ROCK and ROLl
For me Uriah Heep is essential band like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Jethro Tull in the way of hard & progressive rock. I suggest you Lady in Black and The Park frome the Salisbury album.
@@mortykun if someone wants to know more about UH, then i'm with you. But as a first contact with the band, "easy livin", "gypsy", "the wizard" and "love machine" are the perfect songs to begin with. 👍🏼
Great bands - Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath. But where Heep left the others for dead was in the vocal harmonies - all the guys could sing. They were a totally unique band. Even though they had some of the heavy rock & blues sound - they also had melody!!
"July Morning" is the song that turned me on to this band 30 years ago, and it was old then. It is still my favorite. It will blow you away! You are correct that this band trades blows with any great band of its time. Thank you for re exposing these great old bands to the new crowds.
Love, love the Heap, My dad got us kids into them and took me, mum, brother in 75 to see them live. First band I ever saw, they were amazing, SOOOO glad you dig them too. Listen to more and I will subscribe, promise. x
Great selection for a start into Uriah Heap... "Lady in Black" is another great selection from them... Ken Hensley (Uriah Heap band member) does a great remake of it
Glad you liked this. I'm 57, been a fan of Heep for decades. They have a wealth of material, they're still putting out good stuff with only one original member - pretty amazing since they've been around since 1970 ish. Glad I tumbled on to your slice of the 'Tube as well. Keep exploring.
Blues rock is my favorite. You should try the band Free (if you have not already). Free is Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke's band before they were in Bad Company.
Uriah heep is apart of what I like to say..part of the big five. Early 70's. Led zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep purple, YES, and Uriah Heep. All created the progressive, hard rock sound.
Uriah Heep suggestions: Gypsy, Bird of Prey, Lady in Black, Look at Yourself, Easy Livin' and The Wizard just to get started. Classic era Uriah Heep were terrific, they had singer and personnel changes over the decades and the current lineup is still awesome, but stay with early Heep for now, as there is five decades of Uriah Heep music.
Great song by a great band! I grew up listening to them and this was one of the songs we'd play as we were cruisin boozin and tokin.....still listen to it today in my retired life! They have a great fast paced, in your face 2 minute 40 sec rocker called Easy Livin'.....give that one a listen, you will love it!
I'm getting older and I forget some stuff that I used to listen to but this is one I do remember. It's right on up there in my teenage memories along with Mott the Hoople's All the Way to Memphis. I don't remember any of the other songs from the albums. The phrase "I done the rancher's daughter" was what was stuck in my memories.
This band has so many great songs. Try any of these -- July Morning, Shadows Of Grief, Sweet Freedom, Gypsy, Bird of Prey, Sunrise, Sweet Lorraine, The Magician's Birthday, Tales.
The drummer, Lee Kerslake wrote the Diary of a madman album for Ozzy along with Bob Daisley who played Bass for Heep. I have a great memory of me, Mick, Lee, and Bob cruising down I-10 in my '79 T-Bird with the tops in the trunk pushing 100mph.
Yep the late 60s to 82 is a span that had so many artist that could come up with so much with country music included and I will say that because of the Outlaw Era with Willie and Waylon and funk soul blues Parliament /Funkadelic and new wave and rock experimentation that you could go on a listening binge for a life time of awesome stuff but there was that sweet spot as you say from 68 to 73 that does stand alone ..
What a lot of people don't realize is that Uriah Heep is still recording an still touring after 50 years as a band. I consider their 2018 album to be one of their all time best. And if you are looking for some relatively recent songs to review, might I suggest Love in Silence (Seal of Light album) or Corridors of Madness (Celebrations album). Enjoy!
Learn new stuff every day, never heard them, it's pretty awesome. Great reaction my friend . Some people my laugh but try a band called " meat Loaf' awesome singer. Thanks Lance
Did y'all know that Uriah Heep wrote say what you will by Fastway I saw them perform it when they came into town in the 90s and and they kicked freaking ass
I think I have every album with this lineup purchased back in the day . I also saw them once . I barely remember any of it but I still have the ticket stub to prove to myself I was there . Lol
Very'eavy very'umble, Salisbury, Look at yourself, Demons and Wizards, Sweet Freedom, The Magician's Birthday, Wonderworld, Return To Fantasy, High and Mighty, are all very good Uriah Heep albums from the years 1970 - 1976. The lineup with David Byron on lead vocals was the best.
I lived, musically, on their third album, "Look at Yourself", for a number of years. I thought it was the greatest. I still think it is one of the greatest. Check out "Tears in my Eyes" kicking off the B side. Actually, just listen to the entire album. My favorite "Drummer" album. Ian Clarke was a monster
Uriah Heap is one the best 70s band no one’s ever heard of…until they hear one of their songs and say “is that who sings this?, oh yeah, this guy’s pretty good” LOL
Uriah Heep, very underrated and a great song!!!
Damn! I'm glad my record is intact! Heep was one of the loudest live concert bands of the day. A wall of sound. Try Easy Livin, The Wizard. I'll be back to keep my record going
Lance, you did it! I've been trying to get all these reactors to react to the Sweet Freedom album forever! 👊
MAGICIAN'S BIRTHDAY!
Damn straight. One of my favorite bands 4ever since the 70s, so cool to see this guy's reactions!
Because of Uriah Heep I tweet something every new year. Today is only yesterday's tomorrow.
I agree with Lance 100%!!!
I’ve seen Heep several times and they are great.
EASY LIVIN next!!!!
i am 75 so i grew up on all these great bands that a lot of people are just starting to find.💚♫
July Morning and Sunrise.... Uriah Heep
Let this sink in for a second - This song is 50 years old! They don't make them like this any more.
Still going and on tour now
Loved it when you cranked it up !!
Yeah, you're a True Rocker !!

Uriah Heep - THE WIZARD !!!
Absolutely !!! 👍
One of the greatest songs of all-time, across all genres and generations!
Saw this performed in Phoenix in 70 and that Hammond B3 organ brought the house down man. They don't refer to this as classic rock for a reason. Thanks for the play man.
Fifty years since I first heard this song and it STILL gives me goosebumps!

Son, you have so much great music ahead of you to enjoy! Thanks for keeping this awesome music alive!! Peace Love and Rock 'N' Roll!
This album is killer! Give the title track, "Sweet Freedom" a listen 🤘
July morning for me haunting tune

Next: Easy Living.
jesus christ no, there are like 100 better songs then that one from Heep.
Nicolas Milicevic Are you telling people what to like now?

poor recommendation, 'Easy Livin' out classes this; just sayin😶

The line up that created this song was the best Uriah Heep ever had ! GARY-DAVID-LEE-KEN-MICK !
Great selection for a start into Uriah Heap... "Lady in Black" is another great selection from them... Ken Hensley (Uriah Heap band member) does a great remake of it
Uriah Heep--Circle of Hands
RIP Ken Hensley 1945-2020
Gypsy (the opening track on Uriah Heep's debut album). Knock your socks off good.
One of the Greatest Opening Salvo's in History.
So many great Heep tunes... I'm almost certain Mr. Lance had a hard time just picking one!
Tears in my eyes by Uriah Heep.
"Here's a song featuring all the guitars in the band"... Ken Hensley plays the slide.
Glad you liked this. I'm 57, been a fan of Heep for decades. They have a wealth of material, they're still putting out good stuff with only one original member - pretty amazing since they've been around since 1970 ish.

Such an underrated band. They were such an amazing group and one of my favorites coming up.
Some mad props to Gary Thain on bass.....how good is this bass line?
He's like my favorite rock bassist ever!
Awesome bass player
Their album Look at Yourself was the first album I ever bought with my own money when I was 14. That was 1974! Loved them ever since!
It had a mirror (of some sort) on the cover, right?
Easy Livin' ; Rain; Magician's birthday; July Morning; Gypsy, the list goes on.
Loved the band had all their Albums man brings back so memories as a teen in those days!!!!!!!!!
Blues rock is my favorite. You should try the band Free (if you have not already). Free is Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke's band before they were in Bad Company.
Heep still rules!!!
Thank you for turning it up....I’m 65,
July Morning is the next Uriah Heep song you should check out. It's epic, and it has a lot of heart.
July morning and Look at yourself are 2 other gems among many done by this great band. Ty for reacting to these guys!
Uriah Heep is STILL rocking to day, 51 years in the books!!!
Uriah heep is apart of what I like to say..part of the big five. Early 70's. Led zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep purple, YES, and Uriah Heep. All created the progressive, hard rock sound.
The biggies!
Salisbury!!
Such an underrated band. People say “underrated” all the damn time, but it’s applicable here.
The best era was w the original singer, David Byron. And especially w their 2nd bassist Gary Thain. 1973's Uriah Heep Live is great!
Absolutely! In church! Love that organ!
Look at yourself is an amazing song from them
Love Uriah Heep! Do "Look at Yourself" next time
Blues influence, definetly. That's a "boogie" beat, like John Lee Hooker. Good ear.
You found another great classic band! Time to live is great solid track for your next Uriah Heep reaction.
Easy Livin'

You want to hear TEN YEARS AFTER. Standing at the Station. UR Heep "Magicians Birthday"
This band has so many great songs. Try any of these -- July Morning, Shadows Of Grief, Sweet Freedom, Gypsy, Bird of Prey, Sunrise, Sweet Lorraine, The Magician's Birthday, Tales.
Pretty damn good list, one I might add would be Salisbury, but spot on.
Back in the early 70's Uriah Heep was the highest decibel recorded band ever ! After listening to " Stealin' " I'm exhausted !
If I Had The Time from the same album rocks. Ken Hensley on vocals is great.
I can't get that song out of my head these last few weeks. A great ballad.
Pilgrim from the same album is epic!
Looks like Lance did it again

Several of the songs by Uriah Heep are stories. Gypsy is on of my favorites.
My band plays this, we’re all in our 60s 🤘🏼
Going to see them May 26th 2024 .They are better than ever
Uriah Heep is tops on my list. Zep heads my list!
This song was huge as was the band. They had a good run as a premiere show with some great songs.
been with them since 1971!!!!
You are so right in saying about the transition from blues to rock!
Only one way to listen ............ FULL BLAST !
Paradise/the spell is my personal favorite ! 😍
I saw them live in Houston Texas in 72 I think ...anyway they put on a great show and Mick Box was an underrated guitarist.

High & Mighty - 2 or 3 dud songs, but the rest of the album is a masterpiece! "One Way Or Another" - one of Heep's heaviest songs!
This is David Byron, great voice
