How to stop intrusive thoughts and anxiety for good:
What are intrusive thoughts: Intrusive thoughts are unwanted thoughts or mental images that pop up into our head without warning, at any time, and are often repetitive.
    * They are brought on by the inner child/subconscious mind and are motivated by protection.
    * One example is new mothers who go through intrusive thoughts of harming their own children.
    Mindset - The approach towards:
    1. The more significant we see the intrusive thought as the more power it has over us.
    2. Do not take them personally.
    3. Eliminate all negative labels towards yourself in relation to these intrusive thoughts.
Skill sets - The tools to go beyond intrusive thoughts and anxiety:
    1. ‘Change The Tone’ at every opportunity.
    2. Master the art of ‘cloud forming’ as mental imagery exercises.
    3. ‘Breathe’ the thought out of you.
“Intrusive thoughts only become problematic when we identify with them.”

Intrusive thoughts happen when your conscience mind misinterprets the subconscious. It's supposed to be a mechanism by which the subconscious warns you of danger or a threat or something wrong. When you get an intrusive thought, it doesn't mean that the subconscious wants you to do it, it's the opposite, it wants you to avoid whatever it is in the intrusive thought.

It also brought me relief to visualize the thoughts as clouds because it now makes them feel so much less real. They're not me, I am not them, they're just regular clouds passing by and I can sit and contemplate the world until they pass. Thank you for this! 🙏🏻❤

I learned today that an element of my anxiety is a fear of being anxious in front of people, and so me trying to hide my vulnerabilities and emotions from others, when I'm in public especially, just intensifies my anxious feelings! But to me it's terrifying to show people if I'm having a nervous breakdown or even just a moment of anxiety

Now I recognize that my anxiety comes primarily from the intrusive thought, I could hyperventilate again, like it happened when I was 16. My inner child tries to protect me because the experience was so traumatic for it. But when I create a separation between me and the intrusive thought, it becomes clear. Thx Dennis, this was a big insight 👍

    • @freshliving4199

Your anxiety never ever truly went away.
It’s just been living quietly inside of you until something causes it to pop out again, in this case your mom passing. May her soul rest in peace.
You have anxiety/insecurity because you have fear. You have fear because you have anger/resentment.
You need to overcome the anger and only then will ALL your issues fade away.
Btw your thoughts are not your own, so stay out of your head!
Thoughts lead you to feelings which leads you to overreacting.
Don’t believe a single thought that pops into your head.
      Doubt ALL thought.

Thanks so much for the video. I struggle with OCD, and because of memories of when I was around 9 to 11 years old resurfacing of when I inappropriately touched 3 young girls, my anxiety blew to the roof, and these obsessive thoughts that I could be a p*do/child m0l3st0r was eating me up. And it was hurting because I am 29, and prior to 2021, I never had these thoughts overpower me. I am seeing a therapist which is helping me because I am learning to forgive myself with what I done as a kid. But this video is helpful, and I am going to take some of your pointers to help me.

These thoughts come in cycles at different points in my life (usually of high stress) and it's easy to recognise them when they're here, but not when they are approaching. Am going to try your cloud technique, and the deep breath out. When they're particularly bad, that's when I get the "What's the point of everything?" thoughts and begin to think it would be easier to just not be around rather than feel like this. Feel like I'm at the event horizon of that particular black hole right now in life and am attempting to navigate away - thank you for your help with this today. Warmest regards from England 🙏

These are good thought diffusion techniques I’ve heard. Other good ones are click the X button like your thought is a pop up in your mind. Name the story of repetitive thoughts because when you name it as a story, it’s not yours but rather like a movie you’re watching.

I just downloaded your book, and looking forward to reading it. I have been having longer periods of good days which has been amazing. I think the hardest part is when the anxiety and negative, instrusive thoughts come sneaking in and i feel like i have lost. I know i havent and every step is a step forward. My biggest issue is my head, i get pains that come and go. They are always switching where they are when they come back and i just started getting pressure hives which also makes me anxious. I think its really fustrating that all it took was me learning of someone i have only ever met twice having a brain anyrisum and dying that took me to the place i have been for over a year now. But i know i am on the road to healing and i am confident your book is going to help me just like your videos do. Thank you for caring enough to share all this with us.

Thank you Dennis for yr videos. It helped me in my worst days 2 years ago to listen advises from you. I still have intrusive thoughts ,but i dont give them power anymore. Still feel uncomfortable, but can live with it. What i found out today from this video ,when you sad, when did u feel safe? And its came to me that i dont remember to feel safe in past or now for very long time. Could be one main thing for me or others to work on to feel safe no matter what is happening in our lives.

My intrusive thought that gets me all the time is dieing of a heart attack. I've never had one thank God. But this started 6 years ago after a very bad panic attack. I ended up in the hospital have 4 EKG done, labs done, and x-rays. Doctor came back and asked if I've ever had a panic attack I told him no whats that. He explained it to me, but the only thing I got out of it was that it mimics a heart attack. It stayed imprinted in my head ever since. And I've been struggling since. But after watching this video I know its time for a change. Thank you. I'm a do my best to get better.
