Broomwade Presents - The Production and Uses of Air Compressors and Pneumatic Tools."
Reel 1.
Promotional documentary for a manufacturing company called Broomwade. Documentary takes us through the processes involved in making air compressors and pneumatic tools. Men are seen at work. Nicely shot footage of industrial processes in the foundry. Narrator talks of the modernity of the factory and the good working conditions for the men.
Parts are inspected. Skilled engineers assemble larger air compressors in big workshop. Good C/Us of men at work assembling compressors. The men often accidentally look at the camera.
Tacometer is used to check machinery. Other tests are made. Results are calculated. Paperwork is seen - at the top the company is named as "Broom & Wade" and listed as being in High Wycombe.
Portable air compressors - diesel engine driven sleeve valve compressors - are seen being constructed. Men work on things which look like tractors or steam engines. "Broomwade - British Made" plate is seen on the side of each machine.
See reel 2.
Note: no paperwork for this documentary so date unknown - looks like late 1930s.
