New Chitose Airport to turn from sunny, became a blizzard
The evening, many flights became the delay-Canceled due to snow waiting for the runway.

OMG... the airlines has put the passengers and crew in jeopardy... thank heaven no one was injured in the process 🙏
北海道冬季越是暴雪的天氣,台灣旅客越是要來。這應該是包機，載滿了台灣旅客滿滿的美好回憶回台灣。
I've flown in conditions like this. As a passenger. The one thing that I got used to was that in just a few minutes we popped through the clouds and the weather and the sunshine above the clouds. No problem.

I am a retired 747 pilot and I can tell you that is routine I have taken off and landed in conditions like that....yes white knuckle flying however it's part of the job👨🏾✈️👍🏾👍🏾

@@Natalie-we5qj yes sir at the time I wish I had video recorded some of my landings and take offs in adverse conditions but the ILS system is a wonderful piece of technology....I never used the auto land feature on the plane even on clear weather conditions using VFR I prefer landing the plane myself it just kept my skills sharp 👍🏾👍🏾

Luckily the long zoom adds all the snow over the distance to make the snow appear heavier than it was at times. Pretty good lens he used.

You better believe it was de-iced properly, If not, the Chinese news outlets would have let everyone know about it! My concern wasn't the de-icing but rather the additional weight added by the heavy snowfall...

I had watched some times about 2016,but I do not think I had left a comment here.I was very surprised some Japanese would be very impressed by this condition of China Airline taking off,and I will leave a thank to the pilots of this airline when I watch this film again now,because the pilots are really great

airlines fly in this type of weather all of the time. If we didn't, than 50% of all flights in the winter in the USA would be cancelled in the winter time. It's the summer time thunderstorms that are dangerous
When I visited snow festival matsuri art in hokkaido I was really afraid. I believed that fly is canceled but NO I got on the plane to Nagoya chubu and I was very scared. I never forgot the weather it was -24 snowing. By the way this fly was wonderful and I need to go again. I love japan.
Next time you should try go China Harbin the snow city in northeast china. Is a beautiful city and safe. Go there I believe you won't regret.

厳冬期の北国のオペレーションは、やはり凄いな。凍結防止剤？を尾翼や主翼の可動部分に掛けつつ、除雪のタイミングを見計らって、というイメージ。ほとんど総合芸術。
台北行きなのかな。着陸時には積雪が無いのかと思うと、感慨深い。
いやこれよく離陸しましたねｗ視界確保できてるのかなぁ・・・ｗ 個人的にこのチャイナエアラインの花柄が好きです＾＾あと、手前の機体羽の先端の折れてる部分に♡マークありますね、カワイイ！

the angle of the camera & the dust up from the engines made it look much worse then what it is - Check the ground features, they can easily be seen & other arrivals or departures can be seen while 747 was taxiing out -
That’s crazy. The pilot couldn’t see anything, it was almost a white out at one point. How did the pilot see the centre lights etc? Obviously a lot of pressure not to close the airport and stop flights. I’m glad I wasn’t on it.
All I can say is that you better know where the end of the runway is, because once you release the brakes ain’t no stopping us now!LOL!🤣🤣🤣

I don't think ive ever seen an ac takeoff in these conditions. Im pretty sure they gave it a chemical wash prior to taxi.

As long as it's de-iced shouldn't be a problem. Didn't appear to be a major crosswind. Within 10 minutes they'll be in the sun above the weather.

Why? They can’t possibly see the runway. I guess profit is more important than people, but the plane cost would work out that bottom line.

@Paul trishaan excluding the passengers (we don't know how many were on board) the pilots & crew most likely knew either fly the plane OR face lifetime punishment/firing squad. Did you notice there was another aircraft behind the one that took off? If there were numerous crashes due to blizzards, the Chinese run media would not be allowed to release any information about it. So we will never know!
Those 747's are majestic looking; even more so in a blizzard.
Sure is a good thing that plane didn't spin its wheels while powering down the runway!!!
