Reality Show Contestants Struggle To Ration Food - Klondike: Quest For Gold 102 - Lake Linderman

As seen on PBS comes this new "living history" series about eight "average people" (7 men and one women) who volunteer to relive an adventure. The epic 1200 kilometer journey by the Hudson's Bay Company fur traders of 1840s from Winnipeg, to the Hudson Bay. They undertake this grueling and difficult journey through the heart of the Canadian wilderness in a historically accurate York Boat (a hand made wooden boat 40 ft. x 8 ft.) with only period provisions. Rowing 12 to 14 hours a day, carrying 180 lb. packs, shooting the rapids, and covering over 1200 kilometers, the trip will take eight to twelve weeks. In Episode one " The Company of Adventures" we meet the pioneers who have agreed to undertake the 1200 kilometer quest to the Hudson Bay. We follow the crew in their initial week of the journey as they come face-to-face with the hardships of life in 1840.

It’s great how all the guys hated the girl but she was the only reason they had food until the end
They were all pretty much assholes but she still gave them her rations

Also they got rid of the most valuable device. I was angry on her behalf because of getting rid of the sewing machine

Can’t even imagine how jarring It must be to have the sun and heat beating down on you but also at the same time trudging threw snow

Folks back then heading off mining for gold.. didn't have to tot their supplies on their backs, they had pack mules..why don't these people since they supposedly doing it like miners did back then?

To the guys defense she is slow it took her 30 seconds to move 10 feet

yeah… ummmm….. the real miners would have also shot all the food they came across to suppliment their rations too. these guys dont seem to even have a gun.
