these are nice but I already have a +2 ext on my G26 carry mag and my spare mag is a 15 rounder. The G26 is the best Subcompact for all around carry ,they can keep those 43s,43Xs and 48s
The G26 really is the best sub compact Glock out there.. I've had one before & went looking at all the new models & walked away with a Gen 4 G26 for $399..
excelerater EXACTLY. The problem, or non-problem depending on how you look at it. Is that Glock has already topped themselves with their early designs. Everything that has come after is a downgrade in one way or another for not that much added benefit (Glock 19x, 43, 43x, 45, and 48 come to mind). It just baffles me that they’ve release 5 brand new standalone models within the past 3 years that are essentially pointless if you already own a Glock 17, 19, or 26.
Slow down there buds the 43 (original) does have some use. Say you have to dress nice for a wedding or church or maybe your in your basketball/swim shorts chilling, perhaps you want a slim tuckable gun or a ankle carry, maybe you want to carry a gun where it’s not allowed.. like a job site and have to dress professionally. The 26 for me fits 95% of anything I want to do but the 43 (original) does have some merits and it’s certainly not useless.
I carry a g26. Have 2 factory 10 round mags, 1 factory 10 round with +2 baseplate, a 15 round mag, 17 round mag, and 33 round stick mag. I prefer factory glock mags Just for simple ease of mind.
Oh I like this info. News to me. You just pushed me to get a 26. I've been thinking on it. My usual carry is a 19 in winter..a ruger lcp in summer. This will make a great year round carry. .doubles the capacity of the 6 round lcp! Thanks!
I have been researching ways to increase mag capacity while not going broke. I had no idea that these were out there. Thanks for share this. I know that I'm years late oh well!! Just now purchasing my first glock.
To be 💯 secure, I'd suggest only using OEM Glock mags: ccw, defense, police duty 🚔. I own & use a few Magpul 9mm Glock types: Glock 26, 15rd 9mm, 17rd 9mm. They feed & cycle about 98% of the time. Regular 9mm ammunition.
Headknocker yeah, magpul isn’t really inventing anything new here, but I’m sure they’re well functioning mags at a good price. If anything hopefully it’ll make Glock lower their mag prices a little bit.
OEM baseplates are an option, but Scherer and Pearce +2 extensions have been out there a long time too and look/feel a little better IMO. I used these for years on my G26 and never any issues with reliability. They also made it possible to solidly grip the gun with your pinky, too, unlike these which look a little short. To be fair, everyone's hand sizes are a little different, so YMMV and whatnot.
You're still active on TH-cam, so you may actually see this. It's now years later. Did the magazine prove reliable, and how has it held up. An update would be appreciated.
I carry the G26 with a 15 round magazine from GLOC. Being a subcompact, I found the out of box gun left my pinky finger sorta hanging off the bottom of the grip. And I have a smaller hand. The 15 round magazines, IF you can find them, work perfect for my hand now. All the while maintaining a perfect fit for my conceal carry holster.
I agree the 10 rounder is best for this gun I assume if you have this Conceal ability is priority and nothing makes this more concealable than a 10 round mag not to mention the reliably g17 magazine for a back up mag is probably your best bet as well
To me it's not whether you can load a fully loaded mag into the gun with slide closed, it's how much room is left in the mag after it's loaded to capacity. Like you said, when the mag is inserted into the gun, the top round will be depress down a bit by the slide. That means there must be some extra room left in the mag for it to function properly. I tried the PMAG 12 GL-9 magazine in March of 2017, around the same time you did. When the mag was loaded with 12 rounds, I absolutely could not push the top round down anymore, even for 1mm. Yes you could shove the mag into the gun and it'd latch, but that only meant that the plastic components were deformed and bent to accommodate. After I loaded the mag into my G26 like you did in the video, I pulled the slide back and chambered the gun, then I ejected the round to inspect. A groove had been gouged into the casing. This is not a true 12rd magazine. I returned it.
pierce grip extension +2 baseplate (very low profile) has been around for many years and they are very reliable and inexpensive. looks similar to ur new magpul 12+1 mag the O.G. glock mags tend to last and not.warp i prefer the glock factory mag then a +2 pierce grip extension and ur good to go with 13 rounds of 9mm.
Lot of praise for a completely untested magazine. There is a reason Glock started metal lining their mags, I have two original unlined mags that came with my first Glock. The longer they sit fully loaded the more they swell, lol. I have tried several of the mag extensions on the 26 and have had a cheap one pop off while firing and dump the mag. The ets mag I tried didn’t function well with any extensions even the factory Glock one. Had to file the sharp edge off the Pearce grip not to pinch and cut skin. When Glock factory mags with extensions became readily available for around 30 bucks it was a no brainer. I have 2 magpuls for the Glock 19 and they are “good” but unless you are buying them by the dozen, pay the extra for a “great” factory magazine.
I have a bunch of magpul mags I bought for my G17 when I thought Hillary was going to win along with Mecgar CZ aftermarket mags and they all have worked very well on the range with no problems at all.
I like the Magpul Glock magazines, I own some Magpul Glock 17 mags, but for me I use them for training and I carry factory mags. I have had no issues with them and I'm sure they would be fine, I just feel more comfortable carrying factory. You can buy a pile of them for pretty cheap for training mags though.
I loved how they look so much I was scared to test them because I didn’t want them to fail. They didn’t!! It is all about the change in ratio and the cool look of mag stripping finger rests on the sides of the baseplate.
I would think using 9mm rounds in a .40 magazine would cause feeding issues, due to the wider feed lips on the .40 magazines...more prone to causing double feeds, no?
I like the +2 base plate way better because when drawing the weapon, I can pull it out of the holster way easier with that extra inch on the grip, I can shoot fine without that extra grip length but for reaching, grabbing and pulling out my gun fast, fast, fast, every time, I need that extra length. When seconds count, often tenths of a second count a lot, and that grip extending is necessary for drawing my gun in about half the time of stock or this aftermarket mag you have here. When I reach for a second magazine, I want a big increase in round count, sometimes going right to the 33, and that is what makes the G26 the best canceled carry gun around, still. BTW, that 33 stick will fit in my blue jean front pocket no problem, and when using it, I don't let me pinky touch it, I shoot with just the two finger grip, you shouldn't cock that long magazine at all when firing, just let it hang there and don't press on it, just to be sure of proper feeding.
Have you tried Pearce +2 extension for G-26? It's the same length as the Magpul, but uses the reliability of the Glock mag. And, it looks better, IMO. They have the same front strap grip texture and was designed to look like Glock had made it. Part # PG-2733
early Glock magpul mags had major problems. Glockers & 3 gun guys blamed the lack of a traditional Glock magazine steel liner. I plan to buy a new gen 5 soon & want to see if the magpul will function correctly.
They don't. I have a Glock 19 Gen 5 and used it with Magpul mags purchased earlier this year. Junk. Use them for practice, but I had more luck with $7 KCI mags. They were not the quality I expected from Magpul
This is the problem with ALL G26's. Look where your ring finger is,.....directly on top of the last finger groove hump. People say it's a 2 finger grip....it's not even that...it's 1.5. Just get a G19 mag with an X-grip sleeve. 15 rounds baby!
Technically, but it uses a 10 round mag with the oem extended baseplate, which those are rather bulky. I personally think there's no reason to add extra rounds to only have the downside of less conceal ability. The same goes for the pinky extension. If you're adding a baseplate/pinky extension, just carry a glock 19. With the 19 you get an extra 3 rounds for barely any additional length at the rate your destroying your 26's ability to be concealed. Otherwise, stick to the 10 round mag as is and get a glock 17 mag as a carry backup.
Hmm. If you're still inclined to use the longer Glock 12 rd. mag extention, you might as well stick with G19. They both print the same. Now this Magpul 12 rd. seems like a better idea.
Tactical Tacos you’re question infers I shouldn’t have? Perhaps you’re thinking that’s ALL I got, in which case you’d be mistaken. But having higher capacity mags for a subcompact handgun without having a big mag sticking out of the grip is something I find very useful.
Personally I think its way too stiff fully loaded. It makes loading the mag on a closed slide more difficult to do reliably, and it makes me wonder how well the second round is going to feed in a 12+1 capacity. Will the extreme pressure of the round on the feed lips slow the slide down to an unreliable speed? One pro that I have found is that the extended gripping surfaces makes drawing from concealment much easier.
Tyler Clark if you leave yours fully loaded, has it seemed to break the spring in some? Mine got much easier after leaving it loaded for 24 hrs. Still kinda hard but not near as bad as it was from new. H4T's seemed to load much easier then mine from new.
I just run a factory original g19 mag with an xspace spacer. My back up mag is a g17 mag with an xspace spacer. I get 32 rounds. I used to run two spare mags and a g23...I don't think i am going to be getting into too many gunfights and i figure that one spare mag or 33 rounds total should be enough to take care of one or two assailants or to break contact. The 26 with the 19 mag in it is still shorter from mag to top of slide than a g19. Or i just carry my g19 with a g17 reload...
The idea is if a mag fails you drop it and get one of your spares and if it fails you still have another.. We carry for the slim chance of being attacked, doesn't seem like a stretch to plan for other slim chances, like mag failure or prolonged defense situation, like the post hurricane looting happening in Texas. 19 with 2 17 mags is my carry.
I picked up one of the Magpul 17 round Glock mags at Academy here last weekend. I have a couple of the Glock 12 round mags for the 26. I am going to pick up a few of the Magpul 12 rounders now.
What glock would you recommend for ladies? Soon to buy one in the future,I have never shot a gun but would like one with less recoil, slim body, semi auto, easy trigger pull im thinking of a 380 or 9mm,could you do a show on this, thanks B
Check out the glock 48. In my opinion (worth at least 3 penny's) it's the gun that glock should have built 20 years ago. As advice I give to everyone go to a gun shop and hold a bunch of different makes and models. Depending on your size double stack guns(like the 26 in this video) may be bit big. My wife hates my 26 but loves the 48. Look for your middle finger and thumb to touch when gripping the gun. I would stay away from most 380 do to the super small size making them a little harder to control. It sounds back words but the tiny "pocket" pistols tend to have quite a bit of jump to them. Sorry for the novel good luck shopping!
Is this a good configuration/set-up for a woman to use to carry this gun, in your opinion? It checks all of the boxes in terms of increased capacity, just enough extra grip to be comfortable to handle, etc. But I do wonder about printing. Your thoughts?
Unfortunately I've had and have seen too many failures in Glocks using the Magpul GL9 mags. In one steel competition this past October I had 2 failures from two different p mags in my G17 and two other teammates had at least one each both using Pmags that they opened that day in their G19's. I recommend these as well as ETS for non essential activities especially training where your dropping mags on the ground like crazy but to keep me and my family alive and breathing I'm sticking with Glock Factory mags that can easily be found brand new for $19.99 each. Good review thanks for sharing.
I ordered one of these and it came yesterday. I love it. I wasn't sure I would because I'm not a fan of the Pearce. But the magpul is designed and shaped differently. It is hardly any longer then the factory 10. Only complaint I have is the spring is super tough. It was so hard to get the 12th round in, I swore I was gonna blow the bottom plate out. I left 11 in it and am going to check today when I'm home from work if it softened up any. The 12th round went way easier into yours. I have very strong hands and fingers as I'm a plumber and use my hands all day long with 24" pipe wrenches. I'm worried if mine might be defective somehow. I was able to chamber a round with all 12 in it.
When I returned home today the 12th round went in with much less resistance. Still difficult but not unrealistic like when I tried yesterday. I guess compressing the spring for 24 hrs was enough to break it in a little.
+Gadsden Jim not fully true. early Glock type magpul designs had customer complaints. as noted in the video, magpul does not use a metal liner like Glock factory style. some cops & armed users only shoot glock/magpuls in training not duty or personal defense.
I agree. I have 2 ets fun sticks because I have a g19 and a g19x. They are fun for the range and have never once even had a hiccup BBBBUUUUTTTTT I would never trust my life to them like I would a good old fashioned Glock mag.
Just wanted to add to your gravity test if you drop a 10lb ball an a 5lb ball at the same time they fall at the same rate Meaning they both hit the ground at the same time Thank you
Extra length to the magazine is not a detriment to the Glock 26. To the contrary, it adds stability when gripping the pistol. I added Pearce grip extensions to all my factory magazines for this pistol because I didn't like my pinky finger just dangling in the air. Plus, it allows you to run factory mags. If I want more capacity, I'll buy Glock 17 mags.
The theoretical force known as gravity has no bearing on how the magazine falls out of the gun. The mass and weight of it does. That’s why the aftermarket mag seems to hold up a tad longer, it’s lighter in weight as you noted.
Note, if you have a newer model gen 5 era Glock 26 9x19mm the older style Magpul Glock 26 mag may not be 💯 . Magpul states the magazine is meant for Glock gen 1-4. I own a Magpul magazine & it shoots, cycles, feeds fine about 96% of the time. With common factory 9mm rounds: JHP, FMJ.
I’ve seen a few videos on these magpul Glock mags, they didn’t seem to last. How much cheaper is from a standard Glock mag? I would just use a Glock mag. Hopefully they have figured it out.
Worth a try, but I've heard plenty of reports about Magpul Glock mags not functioning reliably. I bought a 15rd one for my G19 to try out. We will see. I just purchased one to see if the reports of unreliability are true.
galamonkey I have 17, 15 and now 12 round magpul mags. Mine have a production date of Jan. 2016 or newer. I haven't shot this new one for the G26 yet but my others all run flawlessly. Never had a single problem from any of them. I have 6 or maybe more with hundreds of rounds thru each and not a single issue. The only thing I do notice is the feed lips have worn slightly on the inside of the mag. Not bad but slightly. Eventually this is where the mag will fail. Being all plastic eventually they will break or wear away. But eventually all things break. Nothing lasts forever. For the price these mags can't be beat. I purchased some of mine for as low as $10.
galamonkey MagPul discovered a problem right after they shipped the original G19 mags during their rollout. They reported it to the public and offered to replace them all. I have 100's of rounds out of my MagPul G19 mags without a malfunction. I think the reports of problems are still floating around from the old mags.
Hammer0f Thor Q: Is Magpul issuing a PRE-PAID SHIPPING LABEL, IE coughing up cost to mail DEFECTIVE PRODUCT back ? Addtionally for Magpul mags that have cracked such as Gen2 AR mags, are they doing the same ?
You can't possibly get those extra rounds for free. I guess the spring will tire out much, much sooner. Handguns develope, when it originally had a feature, that was changed later on, that usually means that they improoved it. So more metal in the Magazine is most likely better. Glock uses polymer where it makes sence, they tried with the mag but changed. later on. I don't really like the Looks of it, but it's for conceald carry, so i is technically less important.
I purchased one the other day and when it is inserted in a 12+1 configuration I am unable to rack the slide to load the chamber. I have to lock slide to rear insert full mag, send slide forward. I also notice the slide briefly sticks when I cycle rounds with this mag. Is anyone else having this issue?
BeardedGearNut It's not impossible but with the G17 version being on the market for so long and no news of .40 versions I doubt you'll be seeing them anytime soon.
Yeah you'd think by now it would be offered on the 23 being its on the 19. I have the Glock 40 MOS in 10mm and damn what an accurate gun this is. I'd love to see it on the Glock 22 as well.
GunsHarleysUSA Magpul is only making the 9mm Glock mags at this time. They have up to a 27 round one. Don't know if they plan on other calibers or not.
Didn't know about these. I will be picking a few up

Otherwise, stick to the 10 round mag as is and get a glock 17 mag as a carry backup.
I'm going to have to get some of these for my G26 Gen 4. Thanks for the review!
Me Too!!
Me three🤪
Get the Pearce mag extension for standard 10 round mag
Would you use them only at the gun range or would you trust them sufficinetly to use them along with the rest of your EDC gear?
After 50-100 rds mine feeds well but is failing to lock open.
awesome, it looks like it sticks out less than the factory 12 rounders and doesn't sound like it rattles like the glock ones do.
Hmm. If you're still inclined to use the longer Glock 12 rd. mag extention, you might as well stick with G19. They both print the same. Now this Magpul 12 rd. seems like a better idea.
Planning to order two for a start, this helped me decide to proceed. Thanks for the review!!
I grabbed 4 of these here in Cali during "Freedom Week" lol ty Benitez!
You used freedom week to buy mags with +2 rounds more than usual?
Tactical Tacos you’re question infers I shouldn’t have? Perhaps you’re thinking that’s ALL I got, in which case you’d be mistaken. But having higher capacity mags for a subcompact handgun without having a big mag sticking out of the grip is something I find very useful.
Why can you just insert your full magazine in while I have to make the slide open first before I can fully insert my Magazines? I’m really confused.
I love this name!!! Much better than Humans for Targets....positive evolution! Good job brother!!!
I have this issue with the Magpul 12 rd mag in my G26. I can't even rack the slide when fully loaded. And the slide sticks when it cycles.
PinGorilla mine runs flawlessly. I only have one tho.
Tyler Clark same as my M&P c.
The Magpul 12 strikes perfect balance between flush 10rd and OEM 10+2 mag.
I picked up one of the Magpul 17 round Glock mags at Academy here last weekend. I have a couple of the Glock 12 round mags for the 26. I am going to pick up a few of the Magpul 12 rounders now.
Those second hand mag seem to jam after the first rd any tips?
So how did it fire when you went to the range? I've seen another TH-cam that had a lot of issues and jams, over 50% with his Glock 26 Gen 5.
Great vid 👍🏼 just picked up a 26 gen3 will this mag work?
Sorry for the novel good luck shopping!
nice, thanks for sharing. any follow up video coming up soon?
What is the mag plate on the glock mag? It’s not for the pinky to rest on is it?
12rnd Magpul caused a malfunction already, so I don't use them for concealed carry, but for practice is fine.
What type of malfunction?

10+1 is adequate for CCW so many people act like they're going to get into a shootout with dozens of bad guys like in action movies.
How is the reliability of the Magpul magazines? Would you trust them with your life and carry the gun with them in the gun?
Thanks for putting this up...I have a few of these but haven't had the chance to use them yet...looking at going back to my 26 as my carry gun.
Is this a good configuration/set-up for a woman to use to carry this gun, in your opinion? It checks all of the boxes in terms of increased capacity, just enough extra grip to be comfortable to handle, etc. But I do wonder about printing. Your thoughts?
What you end up with?
How is it when it's full to rack the slide back to put a round in the tube?
My favorite handgun aside from a colt 45 single action army The Glock 26 is awesome.
The Green Man I've had zero luck with the PMags for my G19. For the price it was worth testing them out, but they were junk overall.
Not sure if adding 2 rounds but reducing reliability is worth it. 10+1 is plenty especially when a spare G19 mag in the pocket.
The Magpul and ETS glock mags have been proven reliable. They're not like all the other cheap glock mags out there.
Fellow FE?
Note, if you have a newer model gen 5 era Glock 26 9x19mm the older style Magpul Glock 26 mag may not be 💯 . Magpul states the magazine is meant for Glock gen 1-4. I own a Magpul magazine & it shoots, cycles, feeds fine about 96% of the time. With common factory 9mm rounds: JHP, FMJ.
1) WHY Not Get A +2 or +3 Mag Extension, For Ur Glock 26 Mag ???
2) WHY Not Use A G19 Mag With An XGRIP, In Ur G26 ???
Because the footprint of Magpul mag is smaller. Much closer to length of flush mag
Not sure if I missed it, but what's your glove size? Would a medium hands guy get more pinky on it?
This is just awesome...thanks for the video !
I wonder if you under cut the trigger guard you'll get a full grib
does that magpul magazine expand on the sides since it is not metal lined
After 3 years would you say it’s reliable ?
I’ve seen a few videos on these magpul Glock mags, they didn’t seem to last. How much cheaper is from a standard Glock mag? I would just use a Glock mag. Hopefully they have figured it out.
Would be nice if you posted maybe where you can purchase it?! Especially if amazon has it...
Nice defense load choice. What I carry as well
What benefit does this have over the oem 12 round mag? I like to stay with stock parts when possible for carry guns.
None. Buy the OEM +2
Mine almost always fails to lock open on the last round.
Didn't even know about these. Very cool thanks for sharing.
I have a 23 that I chopped down to take the 27 mag. Think they'll make it in .40?
BeardedGearNut It's not impossible but with the G17 version being on the market for so long and no news of .40 versions I doubt you'll be seeing them anytime soon.
I would simply recommend the UPLULA Magazine loader. You have a great Firearm for concealed carry.
Why do you paint the engraving .
My Glock 26 standard mag holds 12.. It is a Gen 3, I don't know if anything changed for your Gen 4
With the new mag, what is the overall height of the G26?
How do you have an ad banner on your gun video?
I have ads on all my video's, why?
will it insert with a loaded chamber tho?
Yeah, it is tight, but not bad
their was a post on facebook where magpul spring came out top end of mag. whyle dry fireing.
Would love to know if you have had issues with these mags
Thanks for the video. I've been curious about these 12 round 26 Pmags. The G-17 Pmags I have are working just fine. Love me some G-26!!!
they make these for the 27 as well correct?
Yes. And the 28 if I'm not mistaken.
Magpul makes 40sw mags? You Sure?
Do you by chance know if they make one for the G27 ?
GunsHarleysUSA I don't believe. I don't recall seeing .40 or .45 the few sites I was on.
40 is the new 356 TSW. :( All this time and Glock still does not even offer the MOS on the 23 or 22.
Yeah you'd think by now it would be offered on the 23 being its on the 19. I have the Glock 40 MOS in 10mm and damn what an accurate gun this is. I'd love to see it on the Glock 22 as well.
That's kind of what I had figured.
GunsHarleysUSA Magpul is only making the 9mm Glock mags at this time. They have up to a 27 round one. Don't know if they plan on other calibers or not.
