You want to know how amazing this is? The bad guys are all assembled baddies from other Super Robot series. Like you'd noticed some Mechasaurus, Mycene and D.r Hell's Battle Beasts (with a hint of Kotetsu Jeegs baddies)

I know that Govarian is a less popular robot than Mazinkaiser, Grendizer, Shin Getter, and the rest of the Badasses, but does anyone know why they gave him a machine gun? I thought what made him special in the first place was the fact that it was a psycho armor and he has plenty of attacks to use such as (Psycho Electra, Psycho Cross, and Psycho Crush) yet they gave him a generic machine gun that he never used in any of the 26 episode anime 😅😅… Just throwing it out there in case anyone wants to talk about it lol.
The gun is the “Psycho Bazooka”, which appeared in promo art and merchandise for the original anime despite not being used in the series itself. It’s usage here is comparable to the way various other sequel/reboot/spinoff works reuse concepts that were initially unused or only from side materials rather than from the main media they’re adapting. Something like how Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z Hen uses the early, unused “Energer” design of Mazinger Z as an in-universe prototype, or of how some SRW games feature Black Great from Gosaku Ōta’s Great Mazinger manga despite being mainly focused on adapting the anime versions. Even the OVA these videos accompany, Shin Getter Robo vs. Neo Getter Robo, does something similar, with the “God Getter Robo” transformation of Shin Getter 1 being taken from a poster for one of Ken Ishikawa’s artbooks rather from a prior manga or anime (and in turn, SRW games have God Getter use Stoner Sunshine even though it’s not featured alongside it in the OVA).

This old animation is so beautiful. It looks like a comic book with lines and coloring. Lots of later animation is “too clean”
