Jesus Christ this is good. This frankly is my favourite GW2 theme, period. The way it layers traditional Korean instruments with some light synthwave and the classical orchestral music that Maclaine has always excelled at, is just pure bliss. Absolutely unique and easily recognizable sound.

I had made this video for like 2 weeks, iterating on each moment, to make the video meaningful and go well with the theme :D Learned many new editing skills :)
This is by far the best theme the franchise has had. I regularly get stuck on the character screen because I can't skip it and I'm constantly enthusiastically humming it.
@@expression3639 I don't know what the guy above is smoking, what's even recency bias? If the music is truly good then it's good, doesn't matter old or new. And I agree this theme is the best, emotional and grand, befitting the final battle between men and dragons. PoE theme was sleepy, HoT theme was exciting, Original was nostalgic, Secret was...quite bad actually, for me atleast.

I do think Factions ost is the prettiest of all of GW, and there are amazing tracks there, though I think the main reason why they didn't include the music from it was partially because it sounds outdated and low quality, and also on the other hand they wanted to create live versions of some of the most iconic Factions track, like few tracks are copy paste from Soule (but with live orchestration, which is something Soule could only dream of back then) , while some, especially Sojin Ryu's tracks are heavily inspired by Soule's style.
They still need to fix that last boss fight before the Steam release. Freaking disappointing specially compared to all the other elder dragon fights that are iightyears ahead in quality.

I dont even play ffxiv anymore but from a composer perspective theres so many parts in this ost that have a hint of some ffxiv zone/area osts. look i play GW2 as main mmo, but the composer sucks tbh, no inspiration at all. for 2 years straight I havent heard any memorable ost and played both expansions and all LW episodes. they shouldve fired that composer hes way too basic. out of every mmo i ever played i always have a handful of memorable soundtracks, so far in 2 years of gw2 i havent heard anything memorable or truly unique. the composer really should be working on indie games or lesser titles, they shouldve hired someone much more talented for gw2's soundtrack, its a pity. this guy comes up with the most simple and unmemorable melodies of any mmo i have played, without exaggeration. Maybe only black deserts ost might be at the same level as this. but every other mmo has a better sountrack than gw2, even aion tera lineage bns had better osts than gw2, and of course wow and ffxiv without question has an elite ost far above gw2, FFXIV is not even in my top 3 mmos, but the soundtrack is undeniable great, the quality and uniqueness is just top level one of the best in gaming overall from every aspect.
@@yuka7.999 I hate ffxiv snowflakes, its one of the reasons i quit the game. i actually main GW2 now. but it is a fact that GW2's composer is not fit for the job, his osts are way too simplistic and without any memorable tracks, they shouldve gotten a much more talented composer who knows how to create a unique and memorable soundtrack that this game deserves.

Factions theme finally has a successor.

I'm kinda sad they didn't use the Factions OST but I kinda like how the OSTs have fotten better and better despite Soule not being there anymore

GW1 Factions had a better theme. Disappointed that it wasn't remixed or reused for this expansion. shame.
what a boring, generic mid tune.. real downgrade of previous themes, especially the one done by the unrivaled genius Jeremy Soule.
