2012: fear not this night 2019: Aurene, guide us through the night Huge thanks and love to Asja I WANT this theme in game when they bring Aurene back and we end LWS4.
@Orcaluv26 The hype is real! I doubt Aurene vs Jormag will ever happen, but I am definitely looking forward to seeing more of her in the new season. Taime needs that interview! I also hope we get to see something of Glint, they have been hiding her away ever since GW1. I know she is dead and all, but that doesn't seem to stop anyone else from making an appearance either in the mists or as a spirit. When you are escaping the mists after Blish's sacrifice you can kind of see her with you as a ball of light that sometimes has a very faint dragon silhouette around it, but that is probably not actually her and more of a projection. When you are chasing Kralk through the mists with Aurene she speaks to you telepathically, but even in the final battle with Kralk at Dragonsfall when her army comes out of the mists to join the fight there is "no sign of Glint herself". Such an important character needs more love than some disembodied expositional lines. We even get more of Vlast than we do of her, and Tyria hadn't seen him in so long that they weren't even sure he was real.
When you try to sing along, cause you are home alone and no one can complain about their eardrums hurting, but you tear up on the second line already and can't get a tone out of your throat. Those vocals need to be let alone and just be allowed to touch you.
Honestly this song is perfect. The balance of instruments I can't even name, the choir-style voice sends chills through my soul. You have really improved, Jyc. Orchestral songs have always been my favorite, but this one is something else.
God, Asja is such an amazing singer! Her voice is perfect for this kind of stuff! I'd love to hear her voice in an uplifting trance track as well though
This probably one of the best things I've ever heard. It sounds like it SHOULD be from the game and it's amazing that it's just fan made. Absolutely incredible.
Huh.... Sees a new Jyc Row video ''Oh hey neat!'' > Goes to watch it noticing it's about Aurene ''YAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSS!!! Let's do this!'' > Notices there's a singer.... Asja Kadric ''...... wait... what?'' > Proceeds to silently listen to the entire song..... Oh my god...... There is way too much RIGHT with this entire song...... This was amazing to listen to... And I don't think I've ever felt like visiting Aurene in-game as much as I am right now >.
i've played skyrim, i've played oblivion i've played warcraft 3, and world of warcraft as a trial nothing has ever made me filled with passion for revenge like this soundtrack did against kralkatorrik or take aurene symbol as my battle banner i wish i can make a character specialized battle banner
Wow, I just ended up here after searching for some guild wars 2 soundtrack tunes on TH-cam, and WOW!!!! This song is amazing! Really well done! I had goose bumps listening to this song, you can just feel it in your blood. Amazing work.
Okay, now THIS is epic!! At first I was afraid of your interpretation since I actually love the calm tone of the original, but after a few seconds I was blown away by the awesomeness of this cover!! It truly makes me imagine a giant adult Aurene, flying into battle to finally defeat Kralk ... ugh I hope they bring back my baby
Imagine one epic final cinematic... the commander has to make one last stand, he, his friends and whats left of the pact face off a giant army of branded, lead by kralk himself. And the commander is loosing .... then, the song starts (the part around 0:50). You see people dying, explosions, etc. - then, the "Aurene, Aurene"-part begins to play and the camera cuts into the cave with her dead body. Caithe is there, as are a bunch off Zephyrites. They start singing, Caithe as their "lead-singer", the song gets more intenste, different colored light appears (purple, green, red, ... - representing all the magic she absorbed) swirls around her. the cinematics now cut to short scenes from the battlefield, still people are dying (and our heroes probably get trapped, facing death), cut back to the cave, Caithe is glowing like crazy, Aurene has literally become invisible because there is just a huge vortex of light and mist. And then, the song reaches its climax (Rise Up Fearless, lead us with your sight) the lights disappear and there she is: Crystal-Aurene -> basically she now looks like her mother as we last saw her in her cave (a dragon literally made out of crystals). The music keeps being energetic and she takes flight... cut to the battlefield: Aurene wipes out huge parts of the attackers, the pact-troops rally and now its payback-time :) OK... i must admit... probably a "bit" melodramatic and over the top... but dang, that song paints pictures in my head :) :) :)
Reading your description, it's pretty incredible how far we have come in the story over the past few years. I hope we see Aurene again sometime soon. This version made me tear up.
When you think that "Fear not this Night" canon wise has been sung to the young Aurene considering her future death......and then "Aurene, Dragon Full of Light" is sung by the Zepyhrites as her Requiem......*Shivers*
We need more GW2 music. There's a criminal lack of it. We also need a giant battle with a vocalised song that plays in the background. I mean, okay, imagine if Aurene DOES come back to life somehow and this is the song that plays in the first battle with her return.
@@whiteautumn3167The resurrection made sense. Many people, myself included, predicted it and even knew how it would work. The only problem is that they didn't give us a couple of instance to stew in our despair before her return, but, considering the wait between episodes, it wasn't necessary for many players.
I love how the timpani and Asja's voice builds up to a climax mid way through the music. The violins also render very nice with this epic orchestrated ensemble. I've always loved your work... Your skills only get better with each composition. Kudos to Jyc Row.
Holy shit, this song makes me imagine Aurene, after having barely survived that last moment, is even moreso put into years and years of dragon magic harnessing training along with the Pact Commander, Dragon's Watch, and the Pact altogether, before they confront Kralkatorrik one last time. During the final confrontation, The Pact Commander approaches the frontlines and is followed by Aurene behind them, this time with Aurene all grown up as an enormous Elder Dragon, nearly the same size as Kralkatorrik, and before the face-off and Aurene's flight into battle, this masterpiece plays. Man, that would have been the most fucking majestic moment of the entire game lol. Aurene lives on forever ❤
This is definitely a studio quality piece. The full sound of the piece in general mixing with the lovely arias by an incredible singer bring this piece to brilliant light. Indeed, the title describes the song perfectly.
Thank you! A lot of effort was put in it, and it's surely the most professional sounding song I've released so far. I hope I'll be able to deliver the same (or even better) quality in the future. :)
I love how the backbeat uses the same intense drums as "Aurene's Fate" which you can her during her vision and the final Kralkatorrik battle, that links these two even more together! Also, amazingly well work! =)
I didn't know you do Guild Wars 2 music! I've been playing since '12!! Thank you for doing stuff like this for a game series that's been a HUGE part of my life. I know I've commented on your IE videos, but this game series, I love dearly! And I also mean Guild Wars 1 too XD
Since I saw and heard you composing this on livestream, I could hardly wait until the release. Now, however, I'm once more speechless. Another masterpiece and a great vocalist. I love this!
Great gods. Seriously I just jumped back in GW2 and finished the Living Season 4. I loved the original version and your cover give so much goosebump. I just don't have words to describe it. It's so.. full of hope. Full of light..
Damn it, Jyc, you always manage to give me chills with your music, man. Admittedly, I know next to nothing about Guild Wars, which I suppose makes it even cooler that this impacts me all the same.
If the song impacted you and you don't even know the events going on right now, imagine how hard it would wrench your heart and gut your feels if you did know the story. This was a very well done song, and now I am looking for where the onion ninjas are.
It was here despite the losses that the Commander knew, with a final chorus ringing in their heart that with this journey so far "I don't know" became... "Follow Me." (This was beautiful)
Simply amazing... AS someone who isn't usually a fan of vocals, this is one of those few songs that really gets to me like that. Honestly, this is why I follow your music.
