I swear to God my thrift stores don't have s***, everything I look up is selling for almost the exact same price as eBay. I think my city has a lot of hoarder, picker, preper type people but the thrift stores are hardly worth it.
It’s because so many people were buying clothes just to resell so the thrift shops figured might as well charge the higher price if it’s not actually gonna go to someone that needs it.
Listed prices by random ebay sellers don’t mean the item will actually sell for that much unfortunately. Woul love to see a follow up video where you actually sell some of it and show us how much the items were ultimately sold for. Otherwise these videos mean nothing really

Precisely. You can get a lot of net work buying stuff off of goodwill, but it doesn’t matter if no one’s going to buy it. Who goes on eBay to buy a used mug?
I say this everytime, I do this as a side hustle and you actually have to find a buyer for these items. Just because they sell doesn't mean they sell often enough to hold them for months upon months
definitely have seen this with old warhammer models. it can be 40 years old, unopened and still in its plastic wrap. but no one is gonna buy it for 200 bucks. that wont prevent the listers tho.
I see where your coming from but at the same time NOTHING should be exclusive when it comes to purchasing something. A low price is just a low price. Anyone is allowed to take advantage of that
Goodwill is, in fact, a nonprofit organization, and the money its thrift stores make goes towards community programs like job training, placement services, and classes for people who have disabilities or are otherwise challenged in finding traditional employment. Anyone can buy what they like.
I bet it took a lot less time for him to sell it then it took for you to sell it by not even bothering to try. Do you think he didn't research these items first to see if people are buying them? He literally showed you proof of them selling.
I didn't really know what a "thrift" store is but e-commerce stores do sell things with more price. Even in my shop, I have many things that are cheaper when you search up its price on e-commerce store.
Hope you make that money bro you still get good prices my goodwill is straight up pricing everything at eBay value in the electronics I did pass up a toy worth about 50 by mistake whenever I looked it up later so they can’t catch everything but nice finds
Honestly, i have that panasonic sound system, looks 100% like mine, except i have a turntable on top and did some modifications for more modern speakers. That sound system rocks everything, i will never need something else
I’m a year late, but I can say the strat for thrifitng is live in the south. Also if there’s a tech item at a (local) thrift store it works 99% of the time because it’s tested out beforehand.
A lot of the stuff at my thrift store sucks. You sometimes see video games and consoles (which I scoop up) and some old blu ray players, or dvd/cassette players. I did pick up a skateboard today, which is pretty cool, only 5 bucks too
I frequently dumpster dive apartment complex areas and I get lucky finding items placed by the dumpsters. Sold a working a Xbox for $85, microwaves for parts, tvs, treadmills for the motor parts. Can't beat free stuff in the trash and making some profit off it.
Wish these videos where more honest about how difficult this really is. I did it for 2 years. They make it seem like you just walk in, look around for 5 minutes and walk out with $100 profit. It's not true. What they don't show you is that you're looking at about a 1-2 month waiting period on the item to sell if your lucky. Could take longer. Could be 6 months. so you need a good amount of free cash because you gotta feed yourself and be able to constantly buy new inventory. Then you gotta hope that your item doesn't get undercut by some mass market seller. then you gotta pay for packaging and proper inventory storage. Then you gotta hope that your item is satisfactory to the buyer. On ebay a few bad reviews will ruin your store. Then you gotta hope the item doesn't get returned. Then you gotta pay ebay 11-14% on the sale. You gotta pay for gas for every trip to the thrift store. And if you dont find anything to resell, which happens sometimes, you just lost money and time! The list goes on and on. As someone who actually did this for 2 years. It's not worth it. There are better hustles or jobs out there.
Profit shopping is very different from actually buying transporting posting storing waiting waiting waiting oh yeah and then shipping if you didn't throw it away or redonate it bc it didn't sell.
@@WellnessWizdom - Oh? So as soon as he had it in his hands it magically became more money? Or was it looking online, listing the item, finding the buyer, shipping it, etc … for $6.04 profit. Nice. So worth the effort.
