Congrats Penang - from KL. Malaysia is progressing well as there are no other country in ASEAN other than Malaysia that has LRT/MRT in construction other than their capital city/area.
LRT is addictive. Once it is up, Penangites will ask for more lines to be connected to their areas. Real estate will be blooming and sprouting around the stations. No stopping of development.
@@JKyle1016 The LRT from Penang Sentral mainland to island is unique and iconic. Longer and better than RTS. If JB going to be Shenzhen 2.0, Penang will likely be Hong Kong 2.0. So Hong Kong 2.0 vs Shenzhen 2.0.
I believe it will take at least five years before the line is opened. I believe they will open the line in its entirety from the first to the last station, or at least, from Silicon Island to Komtar, and then open the section across the sea to Penang Sentral.
From the video animation provided by MRT Corp, the cross channel bridge will head northeast after coming out from Prangin Canal, ending just south of the NBCT (North Butterworth Container Terminal), the line will then head south to Penang Sentral. This makes it interesting... The ferry will cross path with the bridge. Every ferry trip will go under the bridge.
No one bothers to think for a moment that the LRT will make our ferry service obsolete in the near future. And we, Penang Lang, once were "so proud" of our iconic ferry services-no more. 🥲Btw don't talk about future development if current governance don't even prioritize the city maintenance, least one day we'll be like LA...🥲
According to info provided during the groundbreaking ceremony, there will be two destinations for the trains, with one train ending at Komtar while the next one will end at Penang Sentral, alternately. The fork seems to suggest that there will not be a direct line from Komtar to Penang Sentral. Macallum will become some kind of interchange station. I find this rather strange because in future, the lines from Tanjung Bungah and Air Itam will end at Komtar and to get to the mainland, need to change trains twice, at Komtar and then at Macallum which is just one stop away. Can anyone further clarify this?
from info provided, the Komtar station label as no 20 while Penang sentral station label as no 30, its mean there will be 9 more station (21-29) still in planning for future, if connect from Tanjung Bungah line, i think it will straight into silicon island station mean from 1-29 in one line, no need to change trains twice, where just stop at Macallum station to change train to Penang sentral
This is a the cheapest way to build the LRT line. To have an underground rail link connecting to airport will be too expensive. It will eventually be linked with long connecting bridge to the LRT.
Who told you that this Penang LRT Mutiara line is not integrated with Penang International Airport? Please read more and get yourself updated with latest and accurate information, dont fool your very ownselves
Thank you for sharing! You are a real ambassador for Penang!! Kam Siah!!! 🎉👍🏻👏🏻
Thank you! You're so kind.

😀
JB deserves LRT more than penang lol

I believed this LRT project will be a starting point to many new coming mega infrastructures & tallest skyscrapers in Penang.
now only i realise you have this channel besides Learn Penang Hokkien
An exciting development. Is there any idea on the phases of opening yet?

excellent
Thanks, glad you liked it.
MRT Corp CEO said it will take 6 years. Dec 2031. 🤨
That sounds about right, God willing, we will see it in six years. Five years would be optimistic.

Your explanation sounds right, though it doesn't make sense why they decide to do it that way. We wait to see if their rationale will come out.
McAllum station be be like Chan Sow LIn or Masjid Jamek stations of KL .
Hope ready in 2028❤❤
Speed up the completion of all major projects. Look at China and how they do things in super speed.. 😮😮😊😊😊
wait another 20 years pg lrt will be fully completed😂😂
Isn't it stupid to have the lrt not integrated with the airport?

@DR-ps4fl Why get so emotional? 😂
@ why so sensitive? 🤣
It is in fact intergrated with penang airport
Simple logical reasoning, if there are not serving the important areas, than it is not functional and practical... Another white elephant... 😊😊😊😊
haha... all i know is a white elephant was commenting 🤣🤣
