Anybody who gets this through this dance without injuring himself or others deserves a medal for sang-froid - a real memory test. Well done to all concerned.
The dancers entrance is almost “here we go again!”…… there’s a lack of enthusiasm as the focus is mostly on the footwork and sword play simulation. I’d like to see this done more aggressively with smaller steps at parts and larger in others. By the way, I have studied dance and have been influenced by some background in theatrical arts as well, and was privileged to know the professor influential in bringing theater back into opera, as well as another professional in theatrical arts
The sword-whacking seems a bit like the stick-whacking of English Morris dancers. I'll have to admit that I've never before seen "Les Bouffons" danced before -- but did 16th-17th century ladies ever dance with swords & bucklers as these ladies are doing? It seems more like a men's dance of the period, but please educate my ignorance on this subject.

I love this - joyful, uplifting, graceful and skillful! Please never stop dancing.
I saw this dance performed at a Renaissance Faire in Novato. Queen Elizabeth and Lady Warwick partnered with 2 gentlemen; lovely to see it again.

SCA!! Is that a shield, a hat or a shaving basin? ;-)
It is a buckler, a shield to be seen in a German fencing book from 1320, also known as Royal Armouries Ms. I.33
