Awesome overview as always 👌 as for the BMW ///M we see at the start of the video, that would be the side engine vent on a Steel Grey Metallic E46 M3 👍
So what part of David's anatomy do those Patek lugs at 6:42 remind you of? The dial of the Patek you like at 9:38 reminds me of a Cuervo y Sobrinos, which is not in precious metal or enamel, of course. And instead of dippin' dots at 35:50, how about Trix cereal?
Rolex have gotten high on their own hype. They’ve lost the plot entirely in my opinion. They are trying very hard to mainstream the idea that’s been prevalent among hardcore watch enthusiasts for a while, namely, that they are a brand for chavs and wankers.
Does the Patek 5924 have the 5326 ability to go back and forth over the date line with its radial date complication? That’s an important feature with a hour jump hand.
The 11 series Daytona will still be the one to own as it’s lines are more organic lines. The metal trim under the new ceramic bezel insert doesn’t work and will be a scratch/ding magnet on the new 12 series Daytona.
You’ve got a point on that new IWC ingenieur. It’s overpriced by ~$4k. The IWC Mark XX has the same movement and costs just over $6k. An extra $1k for the fancy dial is understandable, but over a list over $11k is a little over the top.
Rather disappointed in Rolex announcements for celebrating the Daytona's 60th anniversary, and the 70th anniversary of the Submariner. In fact, I an surprised Tim did not mention that Rolex did nothing for the Submariner's 70th anniversary.
They did a couple of years ago. Maybe they wanted the focus to be just on the new Daytona this year instead of adding another mayor reference redesign. The Explorer also turned 70 ergo the new 40mm.
Reverso chrono was pretty awesome. Tim, is the price fair? It seems expensive, but you give great perspective on this topic! I thought it was possibly my next watch, until I saw the price.
The price is too high. You can get the same movement in the Reverso Gran Sport Chrono from the early 2000s. That's the play if you like the idea but not the price. Most new watches are too expensive and only make sense used. The number of watches that actually cost MORE when used is minuscule compared to the total number of models on the market. Literally no JLC of modern construction gains value after sale, so if you have patience, the new Reverso chrono will be available for less as soon as they start hitting the secondary markets. Best, Tim
@@the1916companywatchreviews Tim, that is very kind of you to respond to my question. Thank you for taking time to give me such a pro-answer. I love your content and am grateful to the thought and care you put into all your work. Stay well!
I'm excited to see the updated retrograde chronograph in the Reverso! Hopefully we see more implementations going forward. Cool to see the call back to my favorite 90s reverso
You did a great job with these premiering watches. There are too many to choose a favorite yet. How ever I have now found something more painful than passing a kidney stone, the new Rolex dials. I'm sorry but It makes them look like a Swatch. Maybe they could team up with Omega/Swatch and do the Mikey Mouse Moon watch. I know a little harsh.
I believe the 1908 will come into its own and be sought after once all the complications come out over the next 10 years. I believe this is the sign Rolex is ready to go upmarket.
It's been a good Watches & Wonders this year - I haven't seen anything I wanted :) ... I think they messed with the design language of the Daytona too much FWIW
I’m gonna say two things…. Patek is aiming at bringing a younger clientele into their camp… from last years 5226 to this years sporty calatravas I think it’s a very smart move..second Rolex is aiming at the female market in a big way… Diamond set 36 day date with more feminine dials .. also a very smart move
At 35:00 Tim shreads the vaunted Rolex marketing department comparing the new OP to "dipping dots ice cream"! I think the poor person in marketing who approved the design has left the building for good!
I think the Ingenieur's pricing would've made sense if they'd bolstered it's antimagnetic properties a little more. I still like it, but I'd probably opt for a Zenith Defy Skyline for much less money.
I was wondering if the puzzle dial would be some sort of link to autism, but hadn’t seen anything, so perhaps not… YM for me, as I love the YMs, I’m excited to get that on my list. Also like the Ingeneur but agreed, not at that price.
I absolutely loved Dippin Dots. Nothing was better as a kid on a hot day at the theme park than Dippin Dots. Plus they were made here in KY. Congrats on your most successful livestream yet.
As a Rolex President owner, I was extremely disappointed in the trash from Rolex. Even Timex would have been ashamed of the emoji wheels! At least the 1908 has some potential.
You guys talk about thousands of dollars like money grows on trees 😮😮 It is absolutely outrageous amount of money for a watch. It has about 1000 dollars worth of gold . And 80% mark up , that still leaves 10,000 cost of making the watch . WTF . Get real people.
An absolutely first-rate, outstanding review of the new watches released at Watches and Wonders. Thank you, Tim. Thank you, Sean. Thank you, Watchbox.
At 2:19 the pic of the evening has to be the orange King Snake wrapped around the watch on Lou W's wrist.
Thank you Tim and Team. Kindly. PT.

This is accurate ⬆️
Ah, good catch! If that had been a Corvette, I would have nailed it.

@@the1916companywatchreviews Without a doubt! Keep up the amazing work, Tim! 😀
Adding to other comments. By far the best overview of so many new releases. Sharp detail with great commentary. Outstanding job T.Mosso!

Hi, what does Tim wears in green rubber strap? More close up, I am intrigued
Great show. I love these these wonderful examples of human ingenuity.
What's the pricing on the platinum Daytona 126506?

All the news that matters! Show of the year Bravo
Honestly. amazing episode. Thank u
Great showTim, like the studio Watch and Womders 👍. Nice Florida meme 😅 My fave was DB.... 🥃🥃🥃
2:25 nope that’s an E46, Tim. The e36 M3’s didn’t have those fender louvers. The E46 chassis M3 sits between the E36 and the E90…. Just fyi

Tim, you are a fountain of watch knowledge 👏
As always, thank you Tim, summed up a large part of the largest watch event of the year. Can’t wait for the follow up on zenith, Chopard etc…
That’s an E46 m3 I believe. Otherwise, Tim you the man!
Correct
Good spot! I should have got it, but I'm sharper with domestic models. At least we've set the record straight.
Best,
Tim

Hi Tim, greetings from Angola.😊
Thanks for staying up late with me!

The steel /S&G daytona case lugs are now symmetrical. (Lugs at crown side now widened) Nice!
the gmt bezel has two shades of colours too
I have a feeling those Rolex OP dials are there to assure their availability at the ADs

@@arnoldjenkins5455 HAHA, you’re probably right!!
On the 5178G, does anyone know what the word 'email' is doing at the 6?
émail is "enamel" in French. Patek often includes it on enamel dials. Thanks for watching!

@@the1916company very interesting, thanks for your response
Celebration Dial May also take inspiration from the Frank Loyd Wright “cabaret” Imperial Hotel pattern seen on tableware designed by the master🎉
Excellent take on the IWC. I did a double take at that price, and ditto for the Panerai "releases"
The ongoing slow-motion train wreck at panerai is expected, but IWC have badly misread the market with that pricing. Insane.
Great review . But these watches didn’t speak to me . I’ll keep pursuing a few on the waiting list . Rolex keeps innovating though .
Charging more for the platinum Daytona, yet giving you less platinum because of the sapphire case back. Love to see it!
Did anyone notice the Milgauss is gone from the official models?
It's been a good Watches & Wonders this year - I haven't seen anything I wanted :) ... I think they messed with the design language of the Daytona too much FWIW
Fantastic Rolex! But I liked the most Alpina
Tim, correction its an E46 M3, the E36 didnt have the large, clearly defined “fish gills” like the E46 did. Close though! Much love & respect, Tim!
Tim is the best in the game!
Thank you!
Best,

Cellini vs 1908...I like the Cellini more from the top shot than the new models. Not enough to shell out the money for one, but I liked the look more.
At 35:00 Tim shreads the vaunted Rolex marketing department comparing the new OP to "dipping dots ice cream"! I think the poor person in marketing who approved the design has left the building for good!
That 1908 is something I'd like to have, but the price...
I’ll take the new blue GS spring drive diver.. great looking piece and a little more wearable than the new blue tentagraph
Tim, you forgot to mention Rolex did discontinue a platinum Daytona…
The 1908 seems designed to compete against the Patek Calatrava. Like Tim pointed out, the design is quite milquetoast.
Best new release: Rolex (Blue/Aqua dial) Sky Dweller in Rose Gold...nice!
I think the Ingenieur's pricing would've made sense if they'd bolstered it's antimagnetic properties a little more. I still like it, but I'd probably opt for a Zenith Defy Skyline for much less money.
Catching show 2 days late!
Bro always hitting them falsettos
The OP celebration dial and DD emoji dial are truly unexpected yet appreciated additions 🎉
😂
While the YM is a good offering I'd of preferred a 42mm Ti Sub or 43mm SD and left the YM as the "fancy" Sub...
the only intersting watch of SIHH2023 is the gronefeld gronograaf

YM titanium for me!
Absolutely love the jigsaw dial - wouldn't surprise me if it had the largest grey market mark up in Rolex history though.
you are the living proof that money cannot buy taste
The IWC is great...but I agree, over-priced for what it is I think. £7K-8K would make more sense
Looks as though Rolex hired Alain Silberstein :)
patek beautiful movement , not a fan of the dials
As a Rolex President owner, I was extremely disappointed in the trash from Rolex. Even Timex would have been ashamed of the emoji wheels! At least the 1908 has some potential.
Rolex is not the king anymore. Tim is.
That's kind, but I hope Rolex doesn't read it... they might get mad! 😉
